Nirvana Fans Rejoice! A Solo Album Of Kurt Cobain's Unreleased Material Is Set To Arrive This Summer!

What amazing news!

On May 1, it was reported that a Kurt Cobain solo album full of unreleased material will make its debut this summer.

Woot! We can’t think of a better gift for Nirvana fans!

But wait…where did this material come from?

According to Brett Morgen, who made the Kurt documentary, Montage of Heck, he was given access to “107 cassettes featuring over 200 hours of never-before-heard or rarely heard music.”

How exciting and what an incredible opportunity for Morgen!

As for the much anticipated album release, Brett gushed:

“We’re going to be putting out an amazing album this summer… it will feel like you’re kind of hanging out with Kurt Cobain on a hot summer day in Olympia, Washington as he fiddles about. It’s going to really surprise people. Just to be clear, it’s not a Nirvana album, it’s just Kurt and you’re going to hear him do things you never expected to come out of him.”

Sounds perfect. We can’t wait for the album’s release.
