DeMario Jackson: Will He Go Dancing with the Stars?
DeMario Jackson will no longer attempt to win over single women on reality television.
But might the former Bachelorette suitor soon be trying to win over viewers on… well… reality television?
According to TMZ, Dancing with the Stars producers have reached out to Jackson’s publicist and asked whether the ABC personality would like to join next season’s cast.
It makes perfect sense, really.
Dancing with the Stars often selects a contestant or two each season from its crop of ex-Bachelor or Bachelorette mainstays… and Jackson has been at the center of possibly the franchise’s biggest scandal in history.
Last month, DeMario and Corinne Olympios drank a lot of alcohol and shed a lot of clothing during an early season hook-up on Bachelor in Paradise.
After an employee on set wondered aloud whether Olympios was sober enough to give Jackson consent, the show shut down production and sent all cast members home.
The production company proceeded to conduct an internal investigation.
This controversy took place just a few weeks after Rachel Lindsay kicked Jackson off The Bachelorette because she discovered he had a girlfriend while trying to woo her.
After about two weeks of online rumors and accusations hurled his way, Jackson sat down for an interview in which he detailed all the X-rated action that went down between himself and Corinne.
Shortly thereafter, Warner Bros. concluded its investigation and determined that no sexual misconduct was committed by anyone on the series.
The company also announced that Bachelor in Paradise Season 4 will air in its entirety this summer.
Jackson, however, will only appear on the reunion special. He will not return to the program as a full-on cast member.
The 30-year-old reality star told TMZ a few days ago that he’d be thrilled to follow Bachelor Nation stars such as Nick Viall and Chris Soules on Dancing with the Stars.
Moreover, he already has a song in mind.
“I would murder Despacito on that show,” Jackson said, referring to Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber’s hit single, adding:
“You people don’t understand. I’m, like, a black, Latin, salsa dancer.”

The Bachelorette: The Final Breakup Will Be BRUTAL!
Even if you’ve been following The Bachelorette Spoilers and have known for ages which suitor becomes Rachel Lindsay’s fiance, there are still some details that have yet to be revealed.
One of them pertains to exactly how that final decision goes down.
According to this new report, it’s a decision that didn’t come easily … and the final breakup is apparently “brutal.”
Okay, so the world watched as Rachel Lindsay introduced her final three suitors to her family.
The last episode ended with a cliffhanger — and one-on-one dates in Spain — but even with some extra time, Rachel Lindsay remained torn towards the end.
Apparently, of all of the decisions that Rachel has had to make this season, the final one was the hardest.
(Leaving some of us wondering where all of this hesitation was when she said goodbye to precious blue-eyed Dean Unglert)
According to Us Weekly‘s source, Rachel Lindsay’s final breakup is brutal.
“When it gets down to the finale and the final two guys, the last breakup is the most heart-wrenching of all time”
That already sounds like it’ll be a lot.
But there’s more:
“They couldn’t say goodbye, and even when they did there were so many tears from her. After she left, he collapsed and sobbed.”
That’s such a sad image.
But it wasn’t just hard on the suitor.
“She was torn until the very end.”
Most of the time, you don’t think of these decisions as being last-minute or impulsive.
It sounds like Rachel is really following her heart.
Rachel Lindsay said she wanted to quit The Bachelorette at times because her choice was so hard, and we’re definitely getting a sense of that.
It won’t be easy on the viewer, either:
“It’s brutal to watch this breakup — worst breakup in years on this show.”
Describing it as “brutal” gives us an image of, like, a gladiatorial arena — which sounds like a setting for a dating show that’s probably been pitched to at least one network over the years.
(Imagine if suitors literally fought each other on The Bachelorette … oh wait, that sounds like the premise to an episode of Black Mirror)
But saying that it’s the worst breakup in years on the show … that’s a tall order.
Remember, more than love or romance or anything else, The Bachelorette is about breakups.
Because there are way more breakups on The Bachelorette than there are actual couples.
(Though at least some people forge lasting friendships)
Just a reminder that the finalists are:
Peter Kraus, a handsome guy from Wisconsin who should absolutely be Rachel Lindsay’s pick.
Bryan Abasolo, a smooth-talking chiropractor who seems to say whatever Rachel wants to hear.
Eric Bigger, a personal trainer who really doesn’t seem to raise that much positive or negative interest.
Seriously, Peter Kraus and Bryan Abasolo may be polarizing individuals, but fans seem to have basically forgotten that Eric exists.
Maybe he’ll make a name for himself as a suitor in a future season.
Dean Unglert is a favorite to be The Bachelor, but anyone who made it to the end could have a future within the Bachelor Nation.
We may already know who Rachel picks, but it’ll be interesting to see how it all goes down.

Kailyn Lowry: OMG Will This Baby Ever Come Out LOL
Teen Mom 2 star Kailyn Lowry is soon to be a mom for the third time … though it’s starting to feel like she’s been pregnant for an eternity.
We’re just talking about from our perspective. Imagine hers!
After fending off pregnancy rumors for months, then enduring speculation about said pregnancy for many more months, it’s just about over.
Not a moment too soon for the 25-year-old, either.
“I’m convinced I’m never having the baby and it’s all a dream,” the oft-maligned and embattled MTV personality tweeted on Sunday.
“I feel no progress here lol.”
This really has been dragging on for awhile. Any expectant mom in month nine can relate, but Kailyn has been scrutinized the whole time.
She first confirmed she is expecting in February (this played out on Teen Mom 2 last week), but didn’t reveal the identity of the father.
“This is the baby I thought I wasn’t sure if I could have. I know this isn’t an ideal situation but I know everything will be okay,” she wrote.
“And like I say in my book,” she said, working in a quality plug, “with a little bit of hustle and heart, I can and I will survive anything.”
“Having another child is something I am so happy about and I just can’t wait. My boys are so excited, those who love me are so excited.”
“I hope that everyone can just be happy for me.”
That definitely wasn’t the case. Kail enjoys plenty of fan support, but also plenty of haters critical of Lowry for having three baby daddies.
As for the identity of the third baby daddy, she finally confirmed in May that the father of her child is Chris Lopez, as the Internet established.
Lowry opened up to her ex-boyfriend (and first baby daddy) Jo Rivera on Teen Mom 2 about her decision to go through this again on MTV.
“I really don’t want to talk about it, but I also feel like I’m seeing all the s–t Jenelle [Evans] has gone through,” Lowry lamented to Rivera.
“Having three kids with three people … it’s going to get out anyway, so I might as well tell my story and be transparent about it.”
That way, Kailyn surmised in a scene from the hit show, “the truth is out there and not like a bunch of rumors or assumptions.”
If only it were that simple.
The scrutiny over every detail has only intensified, from her relationship status with Lopez and Javi Marroquin to the new baby’s gender.
It certainly looks like Lowry is having a girl, at least according to a Snapchat video in which a friend held a chain over her baby belly.
According to this odd but enjoyable tradition, if the pendulum swings in circles, then it’s a girl, and if it swings back and forth, it’s a boy.
We saw circles, people. Oh yes. Big time.
As for what she’s going to name it she’s down to four options for each gender: If it’s a girl, she’ll pick Karsyn, Anastasia, Murphy or Leona.
A third boy will be named Griffin, Nixon, Ripken or Silas. As of this weekend, it was still TBA. “Still. No. Baby. Names. Goodbye,” she wrote.
Kail is already mother to son Isaac Elliot, 7, whom she shares with Rivera, and son Lincoln Marshall, 3, with ex-husband Javi Marroquin.
Both of those guys have had their moments they’d just as soon forget over the years, but are devoted fathers and decent guys all-around.
Lopez? That remains to be seen.

Whitney Port Had Her Baby, You Guys!
Hey, remember when we told you that Whitney Port was pregnant?
Well, pregnancy doesn’t last forever — even if it sometimes feels like it does — and she gave birth!
She shared photos and talked all about her adorable little baby. And yes, the former The Hills star tells us his name right away instead of being weirdly coy about baby names.
Whitney Port posted to Instagram before she shared any photos:
“Sorry I’ve been MIA for like a week! I lost my phone. Just kidding!! I made a human!”
Okay, that is a really cute introduction.
“Sonny Sanford Rosenman was born on 7/27/17!!”
Some superstitions make seven lucky number, so three of them in a row is pretty great.
(Also, 27 is three cubed or nine times three, which makes it a very pleasing number even if we don’t attribute any special properties to it)
“Everyone is so happy and healthy and we are home now. I’m going to try my very best to not be one of those moms whose feed is dominated by their baby but I can totally see how difficult it will be not to.”
She’s enamored with her baby and conscientious! How sweet of her.
(But seriously, share baby pics all that you like)
“I am beyond obsessed and in love and wish I could bottle this feeling for all of you out there.”
That feeling is a huge rush of oxytocin, and it’s pretty great.
(Technically, they do bottle it already, but not with especially reliable effects and we don’t know if it’s used recreationally — maybe some day!)

It wasn’t until her blog post that she shared photos that we have for you — doesn’t she look amazing for just having given birth? Dang.
Good for you, Whitney.
(Sure, she probably put on makeup or whatever, but let’s give credit where credit is due, folks)
She also writes about how obsessed with him she is:
“I love him and feel protective over him, but more than anything, I’m just like obsessed. I can’t stop looking at him, or thinking about him when I am in another room.”
That’s healthy.
If more parents felt that way, maybe there’d be fewer babies who die in a hot car every year.
“It’s a bit like getting a toy you really really wanted as a child. There was all the anticipation and build up, and then you open it and you love it.”
If your first thought was that even shiny, new toys can lose their luster, she already thought of that creation.
“Unlike the toy, however, I am obviously never going to get sick of Sonny, and he poops.”
We bet that the defecation part is going to get old soon, though.
“All kidding aside, my heart just grew to accommodate all this extra love I now have to give. I don’t care if this is sappy or trite and I don’t want to say that I love him more than anything ever because I love Timmy and my family. It’s not about loving him more than something else I love. It’s just awesome.”
That’s precious. And we get it.
And don’t worry, she has a picture of little baby Sonny.
He looks like perhaps the most thoroughly swaddled baby that we’ve ever seen in our lives.
He’s also really cute.

Paris Jackson and Macaulay Culkin Got Matching Tattoos!
You may have heard that Macaulay Culkin recently cut his long, wonderful hair pretty drastically. But he’s also working as an actor again, which is great.

Part of that self-expression means honoring her late father.
Macaulay, on the other hand, doesn’t seem to have any tats on his arm — except for this one.

Now, we’ll be honest with you … we don’t know what the spoon tattoos are supposed to mean.
Since we don’t think that it’s a wildly tasteless drug reference, our first thought was that it might have some sort of New Agey significance.
As we know, Paris Jackson is very spiritual.
We looked up the possible meanings of spoons, and when they show up in dreams, they involve the quest for your personal fulfillment and the tools that one needs to achieve it.
We explored some other options — some people get spoon tattoos for chronic illness (a reference to spoon theory).
But the fact of the matter is that we don’t know why they got that as a tattoo.
It may be an inside joke.
They may even just be trolling people.
We love that they have so much that they can share and enjoy with each other.
Including matching spoon tattoos.

It’s good that they can share, since they both lost the same great man in their lives and are both still feeling that loss.

Anthony Scaramucci: Fired as White House Communications Director! Already!
President Donald J. Trump has decided to remove the embattled Anthony Scaramucci as communications director for his administration.
The non-failing New York Times reported the news, which follows the Mooch’s tumultuous 10-day tenure, moments ago.
Three people close to the decision said Scaramucci is out following what has been the most insane week of the Trump White House to date.
Which, as you know regardless of which side of the political spectrum you find yourself on these days, is saying a hell of a lot.
Scaramucci recently took over the position having apparently been denied a post in the Trump administration earlier this year.
That was one point of contention in a crude, verbal tirade he unleashed against the White House staff … in the New Yorker.
Sean Spicer, the former press secretary, resigned immediately after he too the job, rather than take orders from Scaramucci.
Reince Priebus, Trump’s first chief of staff and a “paranoid, c–k blocking schizophrenic” (Anthony’s words) is also out the door.
Preibus and senior adviser Steve Bannon, who Scaramucci says wants to suck his own c–k, shared power in the White House since January.
Despite their different backgrounds and management styles, they actually coexisted better than most people in the Trump administration.
If Scaramucci had anything to say about it, they would both be out on the street, though it appears Trump has fired Anthony instead.
Scaramucci had boasted about reporting directly to the President and not the chief of staff, John F. Kelly, who just replaced Priebus.
Perhaps it’s not surprising that the decision to boot Scaramucci reportedly came at Kelly’s request, the sources close to the situation said.
Kelly made clear to the few remaining members of the White House staff at a meeting Monday morning that he’s in charge from now on.
It was not clear whether Scaramucci will remain employed at the White House in another position or will leave altogether.
We would have to assume the latter.
Even by Trump supporter standards, his off-color comments and overall ridiculousness raised red flags, which again is saying something.
He demonstrated an absoluitely astounding lack of media savvy for someone serving as the liaison between the press and the POTUS.
It’s hard to see where you go after telling the New Yorker’s Ryan Lizza, “I fired one guy the other day. I have 3-4 people I’ll fire tomorrow.”
“I’ll get to the person who leaked that to you. Reince Priebus … if you want to leak something … he’ll be asked to resign very shortly.”
Clearly gunning for the title of Most Batsh-t Member of the Trump Staff, he made sure he got it after launching into an impression of Priebus:
“Let me leak the f–king thing and see if I can c–kblock these people the way I c–kblocked Scaramucci for six months.”
He then turned his sights to Bannon, complaining that the former Breitbart News CEO and Trump campaign chair is only in this for himself.
“I’m not Steve Bannon, I’m not trying to suck my own c–l,” Scaramucci said, ridiculing the shadowy alt-right Trump confidant.
“I’m not trying to build my own brand off the f–king strength of the president,” he said. “I’m here to serve the country.”
Scaramucci had a good run.

He clearly doesn’t hate to disappoint them enough, because he didn’t balk at disappointing a lot of them.
“He is grateful and honored to have shared that experience with his cast and crew for over 150 successful shows across six continents during this run.”
Speaking of cast and crew, like … you have to wonder if he’s even aware of

Sure, tickets were refunded — that didn’t help the hundreds of people left hanging who’d signed up to work that gig.
And then, of course, there’s the real reason that he put an end to his tour.
It appears that the real reason behind Justin bringing his tour to an abrupt end wasn’t “exhaustion,” which is the reason that he seems to love to give.
(Seriously, the Biebs cited “exhaustion” just last year — he is 23 years old and appears to be in pretty good shape, so we’re thinking that he needs to either go to a doctor or find a different excuse)
And, for the record, his tour didn’t have super demanding travel times or anything like that to begin with.
Not to mention that, while going on stage is definitely work, Justin isn’t going up on stage and dancing upside down on a pole.
He mostly just dresses in expensive versions of really trashy clothes and performs. It is what it is, okay?
As it turns out, Justin Bieber cancelled his tour for Jesus reasons.
But getting super close with this one “young, hip” pastor (we all know the type) apparently won’t keep Justin away from his fans forever.
According to TMZ, members of Justin Bieber’s inner circle assure fans that he’ll be back to making music and also back to touring.
Just … when he feels that the time is right.
Apparently music is his emotional outlet and his preferred tool of self-expression, so they can’t imagine that he would ever give up music.
That’s good, at least.
But the rest of this has really been a disappointment, you know?
Justin’s had his ups and downs over the years, but we’d really hoped that he’d gotten his act together.
And then bam, he cancels his tour.
You don’t have to be boozing it up all the time to screw up.
As easy as it is to be critical of Justin for quitting a tour when plenty of performers keep going when they’re sick or much older than he is, it’s also easy to blast him for

She and William don’t owe us an explanation for their plans for their family.
Still, even though we know logically that their baby-making schedule is really none of our business, it’s just human nature to be curious about it.
And a new report from Celebrity Dirty Laundry gives a pretty interesting explanation for the lack of new babies …
Hint: it’s all Meghan Markle’s fault.
“If there’s one thing that the Duchess of Cambridge doesn’t want to do,” the report begins, “it’s compete with Meghan Markle for media attention and headlines.”
Which makes sense — Kate has been in the family for a while now, but Meghan is new and exciting and getting a whole mess of press.
We keep hearing rumors that Prince Harry is planning on proposing to Meghan sometime this year, most likely in the fall.
We also keep hearing that their wedding would take place shortly after.
And, as the saying goes, first comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the whole entire world keeping an eye on Meghan’s midsection in hopes they might spot a bump.
Basically, Kate knows that when it comes to royal news, it’s The Meghan and Harry Show right now, and if she were to get pregnant, it wouldn’t get as much attention as it might get another time.
She seems to have a rough time with pregnancy anyway, so why waste one when she knows she won’t be everyone’s main focus?
Sure, it seems like a weird reason to put off having a baby, but as the report says, “there’s no doubt that she loves all the attention that she gets whenever she’s pregnant.”
And hey, the heart wants what it wants, right?
Besides, the report adds that Kate is “already having a difficult time keeping an eye on her two small children,” and we know the queen wants her and William to start doing more royal engagements.
Little George will be ready to start school soon, too, and she wants to be involved in that.
There are lots of reasons why she’s putting off pregnancy, apparently.
But the biggest one is that Meghan Markle is stealing all the attention.

Imagine going through seven years of school to become a lawyer … only to work an entire legal case about alleged genital odor.
That’s right — it’s time for another update about the actual court case in which Joanna Krupa is suing Brandi Glanville for claiming that her vagina stinks.
This time, it’s not Brandi Glanville testifying about Joanna Krupa’s vagina … it’s Joanna Krupa’s ex, Romain Zago. And he had a lot to say.
Yeah, it’s time for an update in the stupidest slander case that we’ve heard of in a good, long while.
Presumably, as her ex, Romain Zago would be the closest thing to an expert in how her genitals smell.
(Though some people have unbelievable hangups about oral sex, so you never know)
The two filed for divorce only a few days before the deposition, but apparently it’s an incredibly amicable divorce.
In the deposition obtained by TMZ, Romain Zago tells Brandi Glanville’s lawyer in no uncertain words that he disagrees with Brandi’s, um, olfactory observation:
“If you want to know the answer to this stupid comments from your client, (Joanna’s) vagina smells amazing.”
In case anyone doubted his sworn testimony, he added an oath:
“And I swear on God, Jesus, my father, my brothers.”
We’re sure that all of the parties that he just named would have preferred to just be left out of this discussion.
Romain also compared Joanna’s genital odor to other women.
“Better than any other woman in the world.”
That’s … high praise.
That’s also the weirdest high praise that we’ve ever heard.
As you might recall, Joanna Krupa is suing Brandi Glanville for $ 15,000 for apparently insulting her good name in what we’d call the most ridiculous feud … except that most feuds are similarly ridiculous.
We have to imagine that both women have spent at least that much already on legal bills.
It seems like Joanna is after vindication in court that her vagina doesn’t smell bad.
Instead, she’s just going to forever associate herself with Brandi’s comment, which may or may not have been accurate.
Joanna’s a beautiful woman — does she really want to forever be “the Real Housewife who sued to prove that her vagina isn’t smelly” in people’s minds?
Because that’s what she’s going to get, no matter how this case ends.
So … do we need to talk about genital odor in general, here?
Everybody’s genitals have some sort of smell. They’re supposed to.
Vaginas are self-cleaning, but sometimes their pH balance can get a little messed up.
The result can be a change in odor (and discharge).
Just a few things that can mess up pH balance:
-menstruation
-exposure to a penis
-soap or bodywash
But there are a few things that require treatment can mess with genital odor, such as yeast infections.
That shouldn’t be a source of shame — at least 75% of adults with vaginas will have at least one yeast infection in their lifetimes.
There are simple creams to treat these, but in the mean time, odor might change a little.
As to whether or not this was behind Brandi Glanville’s comments about Joanna Krupa … we have no idea.
This might be an expensive exchange for Brandi Glanville, but considering how unpleasant Brandi’s other feud is, this must be an almost welcome distraction.
Seriously, Brandi has accused LeAnn Rimes of trying to steal her life.
Being sued in court over something so ridiculous should feel like a vacation after all of that.
So far, the only person who’s coming out of this case looking good is Romain Zago with this testimony.

This unreasonably good-looking couple formed when Britney Spears and Sam Asghari started dating last year, though the world had to wait a little while before we got confirmation of the relationship.
Since they started dating, we"ve seen snapshots of their sushi dates and some adorable PDA.
We"ve also seen Britney dive off of his shoulders into a pool.
(If you"ve ever had someone dive off of your shoulders, you know that it"s not comfortable — it"s good that he does it anyway)
This new video is the couple"s cuddliest yet.
In this new video, we see Britney cuddling up to Sam Asghari through a very colorful and somewhat trippy filter.
The song playing is "Mi Gente" by J Balvin and Willy William.
Unless we"ve really forgotten everything since Spanish class, that song title just means "My Man," which is pretty on-the-nose, right?
During the video, Britney points affectionately to Sam and appears to be overwhelmed with something — perhaps embarrassment, which she should never feel for any reason.
Britney captioned the video:
"Me and my boyfriend."
Awwwww.
She tagged Sam Asghari at the same time. You know, just in case there was some question.
Sam Asghari shared the video at the same time, which is super cute.
His caption was a little more personal:
"Her smile makes me crazy."

He followed that with a heart emoji and then he tagged Britney.
That"s all kinds of cute.
They aren"t just a cute couple — they"re also a hot couple.
Britney may be a 35-year-old mother, but she still has an incredible body, thanks to a dedicated fitness habits during her off season and her absolutely legendary performances on stage.
In case the world has somehow forgotten, she uploads workout photos from time to time to make sure that we remember.
Speaking of workouts, Sam Asghari is a model but also a fitness model and personal trainer.
He appeared in Fifth Harmony"s "Work From Home" music video and, of course, in Britney"s "Slumber Party" video, because he"s a beautiful man and music videos by gorgeous women need a little gender balance.
Sam Asghari is exactly the sort of hunk that Britney deserves after all of the ups and downs of her life, you know?
While we all want to congratulate her, it does seem like she has genuine feelings for her younger boyfriend.
We can"t even tease her for catching feelings with a guy who could easily have just been a boy toy, because it"s so sweet and also because she absolutely deserves to be happy and to live her best life.
You can"t help but root for this couple.

It looks like just as many questions are hanging over Carmelo Anthony’s personal life as are hanging over the basketball star’s professional life.
As NBA fans continue to wonder whether the proficient scorer will score points with the Knicks or some other team next season, celebrity gossip followers are now asking a similar question about his marriage.

Carmelo and LaLa seemingly broke up in mid-April, and for a very understandable reason:
According to various reports, Anthony didn’t just cheat on his wife… he cheated on his wife AND got his mistress pregnant.
This rumor has not been verified, however, and LaLa has not spoken out publicly to castigate Carmelo for his alleged actions.
Over the past few weeks, meanwhile, Anthony has first wished his estranged wife a happy birthday on Instagram – and now he’s shared a rather sexy snapshot of LaLa as well.
In the above photograph, the television personality is wearing a short silver dress and her husband is clearly taken with her appearance in it.
As a caption, Carmelo simply included three emojis along with the snapshot: eyes, a heart and a world.
The Anthonys share 10-year-old son named Kiyan and have been married for seven years.
They are supposedly living apart at the moment, but both stars still reside in New York City.
Moreover, Carmelo is reportedly refusing to be traded from the Knicks to any team that takes him too far away from his only child, which is an admirable stance to take.
And it doesn’t sound as if LaLa is anxious to legally put an end to their romance any time soon, either.
“You know marriages are tough … it’s filled with ups and downs. We are just going through a time right now,” she said on The Wendy Williams Show on June 27.
She added at the time:
“Him and I are the best of friends and our number-one commitment is to our son… and we have to set an example for Kiyan and that’s what’s most important to me.
“I would absolutely never say a bad thing about my husband. That’s my son’s father and he is an amazing dad.”
If only all celebrities going through a break up would share this sentiment, right?
In conclusion, LaLa earned our respect by saying of Carmelo and their future as husband and wife:
“I don’t know what the future holds. I just know that we are doing an incredible job again being parents to our son. We are the best of friends.
“I’ve been with Melo since he was 19 years old. You’re not with somebody that long, and it just goes out the window.
“I love him with all my heart, and we are the best of friends.”

Sam Shepard Dies; Veteran Actor Was 73
Sam Shepard, a long-time actor, playwright and director, has passed away at the age of 73.
Broadway World was the first website to report this sad news and no other details are available at this time.
Shepard was a well-respected star of the big screen and of the stage, having penned an incredible 44 plays and numerous books throughout his career.
He won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1979 for the play Buried Child and was also nominated for an Academy Award for the role of Chuck Yeager in The Right Stuff in 1983.
At one time, New York magazine dubbed Shepard “the greatest American playwright of his generation.”
Shepard was born on November 5, 1943 and started his acting career opposite Richard Gere and Brooke Adams in 1978’s Days of Heaven.
He later received praise for his work in 1980’s Resurrection, prior to his Best Supporting Actor nomination for The Right Stuff three years later.
By the mid-1980s, with the film adaption of his play Fool for Love, Shepard was successfully straddling the worlds of play-writing and acting.
He ended up on a cover of Newsweek as a result.
Shepard was elected to The American Academy of Arts and Letters in 1986 and elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences that same year.
His is survived by his three children from his marriage to O-Lan Jones and from his relationship with Jessica Lange.
The late star was married to Jones from 1969 until their divorce in 1984; while his relationship with Lange lasted from 1982 until 2009, when they broke up.
Wrote Broadway World upon reporting on Shepard’s death:
“[His] plays are chiefly known for their bleak, poetic, often surrealist elements, black humor and rootless characters living on the outskirts of American society.
“His style has evolved over the years, from the absurdism of his early Off-Off-Broadway work to the realism of Buried Child and Curse of the Starving Class.”
His most recent work was in the Netflix show Bloodline, in which he appeared as the character of Robert Rayburn.
