Cynthia Nixon Dismissed as "Unqualified Lesbian" by Idiot Politician

As previously reported, Cynthia Nixon is running for Governor of New York.

As has also been reported a long time ago, Cynthia Nixon is a lesbian.

What does this latter fact have to do with this former fact?

Nothing at all, really.

But try telling that to Former City Council Speaker Christine Quinn.

In an interview with The New York Post, Quinn made it clear that still holds a grudge against Nixon for endorsing Bill de Blasio over her in the the 2013 Democratic primary for mayor.

“I’m surprised by this race. It’s a flight of fancy on her part,” Quinn said of Nixon’s confirmation on Monday that she would take on Andrew Cuomo in the September 13 Democratic primary.

That’s a fair assessment on Quinn’s part.

Most folks out there were taken aback by Nixon’s announcement.

But Quinn wasn’t done.

She added the following:

Cynthia Nixon was opposed to having a qualified lesbian become mayor of New York City. Now she wants an unqualified lesbian to be the governor of New York.

“You have to be qualified and have experience. She isn’t qualified to be the governor.”

Quinn, as you may have surmised by that quote, is an open lesbian just like Nixon.

What does this have to do with Nixon’s candidacy? It’s unclear.

All that’s evident here is just how bitter Quinn is over Nixon’s decision five years ago to back someone else for New York City Mayor.

“She’s an accomplished actress, a supporter of political causes and that’s a good thing,” Quinn said in this same interview, adding:

“Participating in rallies is important. But she’s never run an organization.

“Being an actress and celebrity doesn’t make you qualified for public office. This is a time to move away from celebrity and toward progressive leadership.”

There’s an actual critique!

There’s still little substance behind it, of course, as one would ideally attack a candidate for just his or her positions on topics that affect the state.

In response to the comments, Nixon told the aforementioned newspaper her sexual orientation is irrelevant in this race.

She’s simply concerns with “the corruption in Albany. It’s time for an outsider. I’m not an Albany insider.”

Made aware of the extreme backlash she’s facing for her comment, Quinn took to Twitter and backtracked as quickly as she could, writing:

To be clear, Cynthia Nixon’s identity has no bearing on her candidacy and it was not my intention to suggest it did. I want to be clear about that. I would never, EVER, criticize someone because of their identity.

I’ve experienced it time and time again, and would never support it or condone it. As a lesbian who ran one of the most high profile races in the country,  i know what that’s like. And I know it’s imperative that we encourage more members of our community to run for office.

Cynthia Nixon aggressively opposed my candidacy in New York despite my qualifications for the office and despite my strong progressive credentials. I was attempting to make a comparison between the two of us

The real point I am trying to make is that qualifications matter and records matter. I do not believe she has the qualifications or the record.

Okay, fair enough.

Do YOU agree?

Cynthia Nixon is Actually Running for Governor of New York

Cynthia Nixon has a message for Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall:

You women keep doing your adorable little cat fight thing.

I’m gonna go makeover an entire state, okay?

Indeed, while the latter two ex-Sex and the City stars continue to bicker over their fake friendship, Nixon has set her sights on something a bit more pressing.

The actress announced on Monday afternoon that she is running for Governor of New York.

“I love New York, and today I’m announcing my candidacy for governor. Join us,” Nixon Tweeted alongside a two-minute video just a short while ago, adding via voiceover in this video:

“New York is my home, I’ve never lived anywhere else.

“When I grew up here, it was just my mom and me in a one-bedroom, fifth floor walk-up.

“New York is where I was raised and where I’m raising my kids. I’m a proud public school graduate and a prouder public school parent.”

Sounds like she has one item on her platform (education) already checked off.

Sex and the City, of course, was filmed in The Big Apple.

One television critic after another analyzed how the location itself was as much of a character on the HBO smash hit as Carrie, Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte themselves.

Continues Nixon in her campaign footage:

“I was given chances I just don’t see for most of New York’s kids today.

“Our leaders are letting us down. We are now the most unequal state in the entire country, with both incredible wealth and extreme poverty. Half the kids in our upstate cities live below the poverty line.

“How did we let this happen? I love New York. I’ve never wanted to live anywhere else, but something has to change.”

Nixon will be challenging Governor Andrew Cuomo in a Democratic primary this fall

If she wins the overall election, she’ll be the first openly gay woman to hold this position.

Her entrance in the race guarantees that Cuomo (who has over $ 30 million his campaign account and who polls list as being far ahead) will face an intra-party challenge from his fairly far left.

“We are sick of politicians who care more about headlines and power than they do about us,” Nixon says in her video.

“It can’t just be business as usual anymore.”

The Democratic primary will be held on September 13 and Nixon has already received encouragement from Rosie O’Donnell.

“CYNTHIA NIXON FOR GOVERNOR OF NEW YORK!” Tweeted the comedian after Nixon made her announcement, adding:

“#myFULLsupport – she is one of kind – brilliant – brave bold and so smart – a true leader #Nixon4NY.”

Concluded Nixon, running down more issues on which she feels strongly:

We want our government to work again, on health care, ending mass incarceration, fixing our broken subway. We are sick of politicians who care more about headlines and power than they do about us.

Do YOU agree?

Cynthia Bailey Makes a Pledge: NO MORE MARRIAGE!

It is all over for Cynthia Bailey and Peter Thomas.

This is not news, of course, The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member confirmed the end of her six-year marriage back in July.

Speaking to E! News about estranged husband Peter Thomas at the time, Bailey said:

“I don’t want it to be an ugly divorce because I still love Peter. I just don’t want to be married to Peter anymore. It’s as simple as that.”

That does make it sound pretty simple.

And amicable.

Are there any hard feelings between Bailey and Thomas? It doesn’t sound that way.

“I still root for him. I want him to win. I still love and support him. We are just not going to be married anymore,” Bailey added this summer.

And the reality star makes a similar point in a new interview with Us Weekly.

“I will always love Peter and have his back,” Bailey told the tabloid, explaining of her marriage:

“There was a lot of internal unhappiness. I wasn’t at peace.”

Those who watch The Real Housewives of Atlanta online have been familiar with pair’s troubles for awhile, ever since Bailey joined the Bravo franchise.

Last season, for example, a video came out in June that depicted Thomas kissing and touching a female clubgoer at his Charlotte business, Bar One.

“He was just being social,” explains Bailey, defending her ex-lover.

And she continues to defend Thomas, despite the many cheating allegations that have circulated around him over the past few years.

“I believe with every ounce of oxygen and bone in my body that Peter never had sex with another woman,” Bailey tells Us Weekly.

Way back in Season 3, Bailey’s mother and sister turned on Thomas.

They alleged he was unreliable and riding her wealth and fame, strongly protesting the union right up until the couple exchanged vows.

These days, Bailey acknowledges that she placed her daughter’s well-being over that of her husband and says she was never “wife material.”

And she won’t be again, Bailey vows.

“I will never be in a relationship again where it will take a lawyer for me to walk away. I will never marry again,” she says.

Bailey and Thomas hope to finalize their divorce in January. Beyond that, when it comes to her dating life, Bailey isn’t sure what to predict.

“There’s something very scary about turning 50 and being by yourself,” she admits. “I just have to believe everything will be OK.”

Cynthia Bailey: Is She Leaving The Real Housewives of Atlanta?

As previously reported, the marriage between Cynthia Bailey and Peter Thomas is over.

But might the relationship between Bailey and the show that made her famous also be coming to an end?

Yes, according to a rumor started by some blog called “Tamara Tattles.”

It states that Bailey is moving on from Thomas is ways that go beyond mere emotion; she has also put the home she used to share with her ex-husband on the market.

The four bedroom, four bathroom residence was listed this week for $ 699,000.

Where might Bailey end up if she moves permanently away from Atlanta?

She could try out Los Angeles, where she already spends a great deal of time due to the presence there of her daughter, Noelle.

And she may also just drop off the celebrity gossip radar for a bit, relocating to her relatively new lake house.

Bailey has been spending the past several days there, happily sharing gorgeous snapshots on her Instagram account.

“So excited #viewfrommywindow #backyard #peace #serenity #Godswork #beautiful #1life2live #myhappy50tome #loveatfirstsight #lakebailey #baileyboat #gonefishin,” she wrote as the caption to one photo of the water.

Just “the Lake,” she penned in regard to the picture above.

It should basically go without saying that Bravo cameras won’t venture out to film Bailey in either of these locales.

You may need to watch The Real Housewives of Atlanta online next year without Cynthia Bailey as a part of the main cast.

Do you really think she’ll walk away from the spotlight, though? From her salary?

Will Bravo executives even want her back if the drama between her and Thomas can no longer be a storyline?

So many questions, so few answers at the moment.

But here’s a look back at various Housewives who have tried to move on from the franchise in one way or another…

Cynthia Bailey Confirms Peter Thomas Divorce :(

Cynthia Bailey has made it simple and straightforward:

She no longer wants to be Mrs. Peter Thomas.

This much was made obvious in late May when Bailey confirmed to The Daily Dish that she and her husband were separated.

He was residing in Charlotte and she was living in Atlanta and it’s difficult to maintain a happy marriage from afar.

Therefore, the news that Bailey and Thomas are now filing for divorce is not exactly shocking.

But it still is news.

Speaking to E! News this week, Bailey said the time apart has been helpful for both sides of the estranged couple, adding of the legal proceedings ahead:

“I don’t want it to be an ugly divorce because I still love Peter. I just don’t want to be married to Peter anymore. It’s as simple as that.

“I still root for him. I want him to win. I still love and support him. We are just not going to be married anymore.”

Bailey and Thomas have been married for nearly six years.

They actually exchanged vows in front of Bravo cameras.

But those who watch The Real Housewives of Atlanta online are familiar with their issues of late.

For example, there was talk earlier this year that Porsha Williams slept with Thomas; which, even if untrue, caused tension between Cynthia and Peter.

Bailey, however, is quick NOT to blame the reality series that made her famous.

“Regardless of if we were on the show or not, our issues would have happened anyways because it’s just personalities and it’s just chemistry and it’s also compatibility,” she told E!.

“I am really optimistic that in the end, after we take some time, we are going to be friends at the end of this because that was the start.”

She concludes as follows:

“I am really at peace with my relationship with Peter because I really feel like I gave it all I could give.

“I can’t speak for every women on the Earth, but I know what I am able to do and I feel like I have done as much as I can do and still be happy and still respect my husband and still love my husband.

“I can be a better friend to him at this point in the relationship than I can as his wife.”

Cynthia Bailey Separates from Husband: Get the Details!

Cynthia Bailey has put her marriage on hold.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta star confirmed this unfortunate news to The Daily Dish, saying in an interview of she and her husband, Peter Thomas:

“Peter and I are separated. He lives in Charlotte, and I live in Atlanta.”

Those who watch The Real Housewives of Atlanta online are well aware that this relationship has been challenged over the years due to rumors of infidelity and sexual frustrations.

Bailey and Thomas got married in 2011…

… on Bravo, of course.

The wedding took place on The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 3 finale.

“I am definitely taking some time to myself to figure out how I want to move forward,” Bailey added.

“I don’t want to rush into anything, so I think this time apart is good for us.

“And I think the space apart, I think he can appreciate it as well. I think it gives people time to think and process and just move forward in a way that really is healthy for everyone involved.”

Last year, Bailey told People Magazine that “marriage is tough,” praising her husband for his willingness to stick with the relationship despite its various highs and lows.

“It’s been a great ride,” she said back then.

“The show has more than tested our relationship, but I think we’re good. And hey, God forbid we don’t make it, we know we tried! We can walk away with no guilt because we know we tried it in ever way.”

That is a healthy attitude at least.

But the union could only last so long with chatter out there about Porsha Williams sleeping with Thomas.

“I will say that Peter are not in a great place right now,” Bailey told Bravo’s Reality Checked with Amy Phillips.

“Honestly, I don’t know what’s going to happen with us right now, we’re still trying to figure it out. But, you know, it’s complicated.”

Cynthia Bailey Visits Kardashian Plastic Surgeon, Shares GRAPHIC Video

WARNING: If needles give you the heebies, you may want to avoid clicking "play" on the video below.

Because even the needle-brave might shudder when they see Cynthia Bailey take it in the eye during a cosmetic procedure.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta star visited Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Simon Ourian, the same doc who treats the Kardashians, to get her eyes done.

The procedure is said to get rid of dark circles under the eyes in less than 15 minutes.

But those 15 minutes seem kinda gruesome.

Okay, kinda really gruesome.

In the video below, Bailey receives a series of injections around the eyes, some of which come very close to the actual eyeball.

And judging by how calm she appears, the woman either has a high tolerance for sharp objects coming at her face or she was on some awesome sedatives.

Dr. Ourian, who shared the video to his Instagram page, describes the pain level for the hyaluronate injections as "none to moderate" and involves only topical numbing to dull discomfort.

If you"re brave enough to endure the injections, it"ll set you back between $ 2,900 and $ 5,900, depending on your individual circumstances.

Here"s how she looks now:

Bailey shared the pic above of herself on vacation on Puerto Rico during the Memorial Day weekend.

We"re still not sure of the status of Bailey"s marriage to Peter Thomas, but the two have been the subject of divorce rumors of late.

There was some speculation that co-star Porsha Williams slept with Thomas, although those rumors were later debunked.

Porsha Williams: Did She Sleep with Cynthia Bailey’s Husband?!?

The Real Housewives of Atlanta reunited this week, airing many an endless number of grievances in front of Andy Cohen and the Bravo cameras.

But the network may want to air another special in the near future that focuses on what may be the greatest grievance of them all:

Did Porsha Williams really sleep with Peter Thomas, the husband of co-star Cynthia Bailey?!?

Those who watch The Real Housewives of Atlanta online or on television each week are well aware that Thomas and Bailey are struggling in their marriage.

The former has even said that being on a reality TV program has negatively affected their relationship, which is a true shocker to hear. (NOT!)

However, a report on Crazy Days And Nights, alleges that Thomas hooked up with Williams at some point in the recent past… which would REALLY have a negative impact on his relationship with Bailey.

Is it true? Could the biggest scandal in Real Housewives history be brewing?

Not according to Radar Online.

“It’s not true,” one insider source tells Radar of the alleged Thomas-Porsha affair, while another adds: “I highly doubt that it’s true.”

Hilariously, this second source does not shoot down the rumor because such an unethical banging is beneath Porsha.

Instead, the anonymous mole explains that Peter is “not her type” because “she likes them young and muscular. Famous if possible and someone who has money. Peter doesn’t have any of this.”

Ouch. Talk about a double diss.

Still, despite this chatter being shot down, Bailey’s marriage remains in trouble.

“Marriage is hard,” she told OK Magazine in February. “I think it’s definitely difficult when it’s long distance relationship, and at this point, it is a long distance relationship.”
