Cynthia Nixon Dismissed as "Unqualified Lesbian" by Idiot Politician

As previously reported, Cynthia Nixon is running for Governor of New York.

As has also been reported a long time ago, Cynthia Nixon is a lesbian.

What does this latter fact have to do with this former fact?

Nothing at all, really.

But try telling that to Former City Council Speaker Christine Quinn.

In an interview with The New York Post, Quinn made it clear that still holds a grudge against Nixon for endorsing Bill de Blasio over her in the the 2013 Democratic primary for mayor.

“I’m surprised by this race. It’s a flight of fancy on her part,” Quinn said of Nixon’s confirmation on Monday that she would take on Andrew Cuomo in the September 13 Democratic primary.

That’s a fair assessment on Quinn’s part.

Most folks out there were taken aback by Nixon’s announcement.

But Quinn wasn’t done.

She added the following:

Cynthia Nixon was opposed to having a qualified lesbian become mayor of New York City. Now she wants an unqualified lesbian to be the governor of New York.

“You have to be qualified and have experience. She isn’t qualified to be the governor.”

Quinn, as you may have surmised by that quote, is an open lesbian just like Nixon.

What does this have to do with Nixon’s candidacy? It’s unclear.

All that’s evident here is just how bitter Quinn is over Nixon’s decision five years ago to back someone else for New York City Mayor.

“She’s an accomplished actress, a supporter of political causes and that’s a good thing,” Quinn said in this same interview, adding:

“Participating in rallies is important. But she’s never run an organization.

“Being an actress and celebrity doesn’t make you qualified for public office. This is a time to move away from celebrity and toward progressive leadership.”

There’s an actual critique!

There’s still little substance behind it, of course, as one would ideally attack a candidate for just his or her positions on topics that affect the state.

In response to the comments, Nixon told the aforementioned newspaper her sexual orientation is irrelevant in this race.

She’s simply concerns with “the corruption in Albany. It’s time for an outsider. I’m not an Albany insider.”

Made aware of the extreme backlash she’s facing for her comment, Quinn took to Twitter and backtracked as quickly as she could, writing:

To be clear, Cynthia Nixon’s identity has no bearing on her candidacy and it was not my intention to suggest it did. I want to be clear about that. I would never, EVER, criticize someone because of their identity.

I’ve experienced it time and time again, and would never support it or condone it. As a lesbian who ran one of the most high profile races in the country,  i know what that’s like. And I know it’s imperative that we encourage more members of our community to run for office.

Cynthia Nixon aggressively opposed my candidacy in New York despite my qualifications for the office and despite my strong progressive credentials. I was attempting to make a comparison between the two of us

The real point I am trying to make is that qualifications matter and records matter. I do not believe she has the qualifications or the record.

Okay, fair enough.

Do YOU agree?

Vote below: Would you want Cynthia Nixon as your Governor?

Mark Salling Child Porn Case: Dismissed Following Suicide

Facing four to seven years for possessing child pornography, former Glee star Mark Salling pleaded guilty.

Mark Salling committed suicide, however. A complicated act that may have royally screwed over a lot of victims.

Now, some may find it curious that Salling’s criminal case has been (posthumously) dismissed.

In a document obtained by The Blast, it is shown that the court has dismissed the child porn case against Mark Salling.

“For good cause shown, it is hereby ordered that: The government’s motion to dismiss the indictment pursuant to Rule 48 of the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure is granted. The indictment in the above referenced case is dismissed without prejudice.”

Note that “without prejudice” means that a case can be brought before the court again. Though that’s unlikely — Salling is dead.

Prosecutors filed the motion to dismiss the case on Tuesday.

United States District Judge Otis D. Wright then signed the order on Wednesday.

This was basically just a formality. If Salling had waited until the case was closed, it wouldn’t be an issue. As it is, courts don’t try and convict the dead. That would be farcical.

The details of Mark Salling’s child porn charges were horrifying.

He was first turned in by a girlfriend, who apparently found “hundreds” of images of minors — the kinds of images that no one should have — on his computer.

Police investigated, and discovered that Salling had multiple devices containing horrifying, child pornography in both images and video.

The evidence against him, as presented in court, contained over 100,000 pages. Not all of those were photographs, but more than 50,000 of them were.

Those are a lot of victims and a lot of ruined childhoods.

A lot of ruined lives.

One fact from the case that will always haunt us is the knowledge that one of the videos in his possession was of a five-year-old girl performing a sex act, reportedly on Salling himself.

As we mentioned, Mark Salling’s suicide screwed over his victims.

Months before he ended his own life, Salling had agreed to pay restitution to some of his (identified) victims.

Reports claimed that each would have received $ 50,000. A later clarification reported that amounts would have varied according to factors such as therapy costs and other expenses.

While no one can imagine that Salling’s money could have changed the lives of every single victim in his stockpile of over 50,000 images, the restitution could have made some difference in the lives of some of those whom he personally victimized.

Despite the agreement, it had not yet been ordered by a judge, and could not go into effect without Salling.

In all likelihoods, these survivors will get nothing from Salling unless they sue his estate. And perhaps not even then.

Salling’s suicide is a complicated one.

Many would cheer at the death of someone who did so much harm in his life — and who could blame them?

However, applauding a suicide is … different than applauding an accidental death or even a murder, because people who struggle with suicidal depression may be impacted by such celebrations.

For those who struggle with suicidal thoughts on a regular basis, the topic of suicide is akin to an allergen. Just as most of us can eat peanuts without issue but they’re fatal to others, most of us can talk about the death of a very bad man, but others cannot.

Adding to the complexity, of course, is the knowledge that, in taking his own life, Mark Salling cheated these victims out of restitution. That money would never have compensated for ruined childhoods and damaged lives, but it might have helped.

Who’s to say, however, what was on Mark Salling’s mind at the time?

It’s very likely that he wasn’t thinking of them at all when he took his life.

That this wasn’t a final insult to people who likely suffered at the hands of many adult men, but just a way out of what was sure to be a miserable prison experience.

Or perhaps it was a way out of his own self-loathing, if that’s truly how he was feeling about his crimes.

But now Salling is gone. Now his case is dismissed.

Jim Carrey: Cathriona White Wrongful Death Suit Dismissed

In September of 2015, Jim Carrey’s girlfriend Cathriona White committed suicide. It was tragic. And the tragedy was only compounded afterwards.

Accusing Jim Carrey of a slew of misdeeds, from allegedly surprising White with three different STDs to, per these accusations, being responsible for furnishing the drugs that led to her death.

Jim Carrey was being sued by White’s mother and by her estranged ex-husband. We say was being sued, because Carrey reportedly no longer faces these suits.

Jim Carrey and Cathriona White met in 2012, and from then on had an on-again, off-again relationship.

Tragically, in 2015, Cathriona took her own life in late September. In her suicide note, she mentioned that she and Carrey had broken up just days earlier.

What was already a sad story of a 28-year-old woman lost to suicide became even sadder when Cathriona’s estranged ex-husband, Mark Burton, brought a wrongful death suit against Jim Carrey.

The suit alleged that Jim Carrey had provided Cathriona with the drugs while knowing that she was prone to depression and might be at risk for suicidal behavior.

Brigid Sweetman, Cathriona White’s own mother, became part of Jim Carrey’s legal battle.

It was also alleged that Carrey had knowingly passed three STDs on to Cathriona White without warning her.

Jim Carrey slammed Cathriona’s estranged ex with a tasteful statement explaining that he intended to fight the allegations against him.

“What a terrible shame. It would be easy for me to get in a back room with this man’s lawyer and make this go away, but there are some moments in life when you have to stand up and defend your honor against the evil in this world.”

A lot of people might try to sue celebrities, hoping for a quick payout. Clearly, that wasn’t going to happen here.

“I will not tolerate this heartless attempt to exploit me or the woman I loved. Cat’s troubles were born long before I met her and sadly her tragic end was beyond anyone’s control.”

More than anything, Jim Carrey hoped for the legal struggle to end.

“I really hope that some day soon people will stop trying to profit from this and let her rest in peace.”

Jim Carrey filed countersuit in 2017.

In the suit, Jim Carrey’s legal team addressed the STD claims in particular.

According to their documents, filed in L.A., it appeared that Cathriona White had used her old STD panel results as well as a friend’s to fabricate a counterfit STD panel showing that she was clean.

In reality, it appears that she had hepatisis A, herpes, and Chlamydia.

(One has to question why her loved ones would want to call attention to her STD status with a lawsuit)

Apparently, Jim Carrey’s legal team did their work well.

People now reports that the lawsuit against Jim Carrey has been dismissed.

Which means that Jim Carrey no longer faces a civil trial over Cathriona White’s death.

This is a tragic situation, but whether it was grief or greed that fueled the legal action against him, the court sided with Carrey.

After Cathriona’s tragic passing, Jim Carrey was a pallbearer at her funeral in her native Ireland.

He also put out this statement, which is a much better way to remember her than the unflattering details of any lawsuits.

Carrey said:

“She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled.”

Beautiful words.

Jasmine Washington: Paternity Suit Against Kirk Frost DISMISSED?!

Well, this is bonkers. Even for Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta.

Remember how Kirk Frost knocked up Jasmine Washington but continued to adamantly deny being Jasmine’s baby daddy? They had to go to court over it.

Jasmine’s paternity suit has now reportedly been thrown out — not for lack of evidence, but because of a weird technicality. And there’s another complication.

We don’t know what’s next for Jasmine Washington and her baby, Kannon.

Okay, so as we’re sure that you remember, Rasheeda Frost finally, finally dumped her husband.

A lot of spouses ignore cheating. But it gets a lot harder to convince yourself that your husband’s loyal to you when his child starts gestating inside of another woman.

But that’s what happened.

Reportedly, Kirk Frost was supporting Jasmine as long as she remained his side ho. But her pregnancy was a complication that he apparently neither anticipated nor appreciated.

Jasmine named their child Kannon — it’s not super clear if she was just putting a K on “Cannon” or if she was naming her child after the Shinto deity of the same name. You never know.

Anyway, not only did Jasmine assert that Kirk Frost was the baby daddy … but VH1 outed Kirk as the baby’s father in the most casual way imaginable.

But it looks like Kirk Frost is determined to avoid responsibility with the son that almost everyone seems to agree is his.

And their legal struggle is where this story gets genuinely bonkers.

(Because, let’s face it, a guy knocking up his mistress and then refusing to accept paternity isn’t exactly rare)

Bossip reports that Jasmine’s case got thrown out.

Like we said, it’s not a dismissal over DNA results or or anyone being caught lying.

It’s this technicality — or really more of a deadline — that strikes us as so absurd that we hope that she’s able to appeal.

See, the judge in Jasmine’s case instructed her to serve Kirk Frost with papers and gave her a two week deadline.

Reportedly, Jasmine’s attorneys had trouble locating Kirk. Whether he was deliberately moving around and/or hiding from the attorneys who were trying to serve him papers, we don’t know.

(But probably)

Kirk Frost apparently did end up getting served with papers, but it was only after two months. That is a good deal longer than two weeks.

Which had reportedly resulted in Jasmine’s case getting thrown out.

Except … maybe not?

Interestingly, HollywoodLife reports that Jasmine Washington’s lawyers say that Bossip’s report is mistaken, and that her case has not been thrown out.

You might look at this cynically, and say that Jasmine’s only after money.

After all, as Kirk’s mistress, she says that he gave her a monthly allowance and also use of a car — which stopped after Kannon was born, whens he broke up with him.

But … any money that she’s after would be child support.

Which, if Kirk Frost really is the father of Kannon, is something that he legally owes to his child.

You know that “if you can’t do the time, don’t do the crime” rhyme? Well, the same basic concept applies to parental responsibilities and having sex with your mistress.
