Lena Dunham Reveals Battle With Drug Addiction
Lena Dunham has been a divisive figure for the majority of her career, but this week, the Girls creator revealed that she shares something in common with tens of millions of Americans from all walks of life and all regions of the country.
In an interview with actor Dax Shepard, Dunham revealed that she has struggled with prescription pill addiction for several years.
“I was having crazy anxiety and having to show up for things that I didn’t feel equipped to show up for … but I know I need to do it, and when I take a Klonopin, I can do it,” Dunham said on the latest episode of Shepard’s podcast.
“I didn’t have any trouble getting a doctor to tell me, ‘No, you’ve got serious anxiety issues, you should be taking this. This is how you should be existing,’” Dunham continued.
“It stopped being, ‘I take one when I fly,’ and it started being like, ‘I take one when I’m awake.’”
Dunham attributes her acute anxiety to trauma stemming from sexual assault and health issues:
“I was diagnosed with pretty serious PTSD,” Lena said.
“I have a few sexual traumas in my past and then I had all these surgeries and then I had my hysterectomy after a period of really extreme pain … It stopped feeling like I had panic attacks and it started feeling like I was a living panic attack.”
These days, it often seems that public figures only open up about substance abuse issues when they’re forced to following some sort of PR disaster, so we commend Lena for opening up of her own volition.
Earlier this week, it was revealed that Dunham will be penning a screenplay for a J.J. Abrams-Steven Spielberg film about a family of Syrian refugees.
On social media, many were critical of the decision to hire Dunham for such a project, arguing that there’s no way someone in her position can relate to the plight of Syrians driven from their homeland by war.
But perhaps Abrams, Spielberg, and company knew what the rest of us did not — that Dunham is a survivor of a different variety, and with sufficient compassion, she may be able to channel her painful past in a creatively productive way.
Only time will tell, of course.
But for now, we applaud Dunham for being candid about such a topic that affects so many, yet is so rarely addressed.

Tristan Thompson vs. Khloe Kardashian: Ugly Custody Battle on Tap?
According to a number of recent reports, it may be over between Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson.
Finally, right?
However, as one insider points out below, an ugly and contentious custody battle may just be starting.
Over the past few days, there have been more rumblings than ever before that Khloe is ready to end her romance with the overpaid power forward.
She’s tried her hardest to forgive Tristan for cheating, but she will never be able to fully trust the horny baller ever again.
Moreover, a new NBA season has started and Thompson will be on the road frequently over the next six months or so, leaving Khloe alone with daughter True and prompting her to wonder:
What am I doing here? What’s the point? Why am I limiting my options to this tall drink of dishonest water?
“She very much seems over Tristan,” a source close to the situation told People Magazine this week, adding:
“Not sure how they went from fine to being apart for weeks, but Khloe is doing great.”
Here’s the thing, however.
Here is what some folks out there are forgetting as they blame Khloe for sticking with Tristan in the first place:
What about little True?
Not just her well-being; we mean, what about a potential custody battle that could ensue if Khloe really does call off this relationship?
That must be a scary proposition and it must be something Khloe has thought about when weighing her options.
As she should, an insider tells In Touch Weekly.
“Tristan adores his daughter and wants to be near her and has told [Khloe] he’ll fight for custody if he has to,” writes this tabloid, adding:
“He’s on the road so much and spends so much time in Cleveland. Khloe wants True to be permanently based in LA. It’s not up for negotiation.”
Except that… it may be. Khloe may not have a choice.
It’s possible that Tristan makes a huge legal stink if/when things truly conclude between him and Kardashian and he becomes concerned that he may never see his kid again.
As for whether Khloe will go through with the break-up anyway and deal with the consequences later?
We can’t say for certain right now.
But she is getting pressure from her family the make this decision and she continues to hint on Instagram that things are far from perfect.
“Life doesn’t always introduce you to the people you want to meet,” she recently wrote on that platform, mysterious concluding:
“Sometimes life puts you in touch with the people you need to meet – to help you, to hurt you, to leave you, to love you, and to gradually strengthen you into the person you were meant to become.
“Be proud of yourself for how hard you’re trying.”

The Voice Recap: Who Won The Final Battle?
The Battle Rounds came to a grinding halt Tuesday night, and while we witnessed three battles, a bunch were saved for the dreaded montage.
With the Knockouts coming up and the season’s big twist set to switch things up, the show might actually remain exciting all season long.
Who would have thought it? Usually, the excitement fizzles out right before the live shows, but time will tell whether the producers messing with the formula will work.
Let’s break down the final three battles of the season!
Team Kelly: Sarah Grace vs. Erika Zade – “No Roots”
Sarah opened up about never having a vocal lesson before, so being in rehearsals was uncharted territory for her.
She was receptive to feedback, so that was a huge positive, but she didn’t feel like Alice Merton number would benefit her voice.
The same could be said for Erika. The true kicker here was that both women turned in solid performances, and it was difficult to pick between them.
Kelly went with Sarah, and nobody voted to steal Erika.
Team Blake: Kameron Marlowe vs. Kayley Hill – “Only Wanna Be With You”
As this one kicked off, it seemed like Kameron was going to have the edge, but both performers were worthy of being kept in the battle for the recording contract.
There were no nerves here, just an excellent performance, and it’s sad that one of them had to go.
Kameron won this round, and Kayley was sent home.
Team Adam: DeAndre Nico vs. Funsho – “Can You Stand the Rain”
The frustrating thing here was that both of the above performers were the worst of the night. There were no harmonies, and it made the overall performance rather weak.
Adam opted to stick it out with DeAndre while Blake decided to steal Funsho. It was a dumb move when you consider there were two much better singers sent home.
During the dreaded montage, we learned that Claire DeJean defeated Josh Davis to remain on Team Kelly, Kirk Jay beat Caeland Garner to stay on Team Blake, and Kennedy Holmes won over Lela to continue on with Team Jennifer.
Kennedy is probably the most popular artist in the show right now, so giving her the montage was a bizarre move.

The Voice Recap: Who Made It to the Battle Rounds?
The Blind Auditions reached their sixth night on Tuesday.
Yes, it felt like groundhog day, but at least there were some decent acts, we guess.
With the Battles creeping up, most of the below competitors will probably not survive them.
Caeland Garner (Team Blake) – “Dancing in the Moonlight”
Remember Red Marlow? Well, his friend, Caeland appeared at the Blind Auditions, and immediately struck a chord with the coaches.
The 31-year-old went with a Toploader cover, and it got Blake happy enough to take him as one his own competitors.
“Your voice is so unique,” the coach said. “I’m mesmerized by your sound.”
Lela (Team Jennifer) – “Havana”
This 15-year-old Miami native was open about wanting to harness the sounds of both Shakira and Beyonce. While we’re not sure she sounded anything like either of those famous artists, there was something there to like.
However, there’s no telling whether she will survive the Battle Rounds, or if she will be able to adapt quickly.
Cody Ray Raymond (Team Kelly) – “Born Under a Bad Sign”
Cody turned in a surprising audition. He seemed like he had a distinct sound before he even started singing, but he switched it up with an extraordinary rendition of this hit song.
Kelly heard the voice and immediately turned her chair because there was something to work with here. He had charisma, the vocals, and a great stage presence.
Abby Cates (Team Kelly) – “Scars to Your Beautiful”
On paper, Abby seemed like she would be a great performer, but her voice burned out by the second verse of her number, and that’s a bad sign.
If that’s the shape of things to come for this youngster, then there’s little chance she will make it very far.
Funsho (Team Adam) – “Finesse”
It’s always difficult to chase the dream, but Funsho quit his job to carve out a career in music in L.A., and he’s been struggling ever since.
The good thing was that his voice was robust, and could probably move some mountains. The song choice will be critical from here on out for this one.

Rob Delaney Pens Powerful Essay on Late Son"s Cancer Battle
Early this year, Rob Delaney’s young son tragically died. His 2-year-old son fought and lost a battle against a fatal brain tumor.
Now, eight months later, the still-grieving comedian has released the first excerpts of his book, which he had been writing when it looked like his son was going to make it.
This is heavy, powerful stuff, and very much worth reading.
On Medium, Rob Delaney shares pieces of the book that he has written about his late son.
“I may wish Henry wasn’t in the hospital and it may make me f–king sick that my kids haven’t lived under the same roof for over a year,” Delaney writes in one excerpt.
“But I’m always, always happy to enter the hospital every morning and see him,” Delaney says. “It’s exciting every day to walk into his room and see him and see him see me.”
“The surgery to remove his tumor left him with Bell’s palsy on the left side of his face, so it’s slack and droops,” he describes. “His left eye is turned inward too, due to nerve damage.”
“But the right side of his face is incredibly expressive, and that side brightens right up when I walk into the room,” he writes.
“There’s no doubt about what kind of mood he’s in, ever,” Denaley continues.
“It’s particularly precious when he’s angry because seeing the contrast between a toddler’s naked rage in one half of his face and an utterly placid chubby chipmunk cheek and wandering eye in the other,” Delaney explains.
He goes on to say that it “is shocking in a way that makes me and my wife and whatever combination of nurses and/or doctors are in the room laugh every time.”
“And when he smiles, forget about it,” Delaney beams. “A regular baby’s smile is wonderful enough.”
In contrast, he writes: “When a sick baby with partial facial paralysis smiles, it’s golden. Especially if it’s my baby.”
Delaney also speaks of the earliest signs of his son’s illness, which began normally enough — with Henry vomiting in 2016. Babies do that sometimes.
What made it worse was that he continued to do so.
“Henry was losing weight,” Delaney writes. “Every time he vomited I would freak out. I would feed him so gently, so slowly, and assume I’d done something wrong when he vomited.”
Delaney blamed himself over the medical mystery. “Why, if I’d been able to feed Henry’s ravenous, feral older brothers, couldn’t I feed him?”
“My baby was getting smaller,” Delaney writes. “And that is a f–ked up thing to see.”
“I would often start crying whenever he threw up,” Delaney admits. “I would try not to cry in front of his older brothers and fail.”
“And they’d ask why,” Delaney continues. “And I would say it was because I was scared.”
It was only after a friend suggesting seeing his child’s pediatrician that Henry, still a baby, was given an MRI.
The doctor already suspected that a mass might be forcing Henry to vomit uncontrollably, but did not say the word “tumor” until Rob Delaney said it first.
Henry ended up having drastic brain surgery — the one that resulted in his aforementioned lazy eye and partial facial paralysis. But it was not enough.
Delaney shares that he wrote about these experiences before his family got the worst news of their lives.
“The above was part of a book proposal I put together before Henry’s tumor came back and we learned that he would die,” Delaney explains.
Understandably, “I stopped writing when we saw the new, bad MRI.”
“My wife and his brothers and I just wanted to be with him around the clock and make sure his final months were happy,” Delaney writes. “And they were.”
He adds that he’s putting his writings out there for his intended audience — other parents of very sick children.

Rihanna: Siding with Chris Brown in Child Support Battle?!
Chris Brown is getting dragged to court by his ex because he’s a deadbeat dad, to absolutely no one’s surprise.
While Nia Guzman demands that he pay his fair share to support his daughter, Royalty, a shocking report claims that Chris has a surprising person in his corner.
Rihanna is allegedly heartbroken that Chris is getting dragged back into court.
Nia Guzman says that Chris owes her a lot of child support money for their little girl, Royalty. Chris strenuously objects.
An alleged inside source close to Rihanna tells HollywoodLife that Rihanna feels sorry for Chris Brown, if you can imagine.
“Rihanna’s heart goes out to Chris as he deals with his baby mama drama,” the source claims.
Apparently, she not only feels compassion for his plight — but confidence that he’s being a good dad.
To hear this insider tell it: “She has no doubts that Chris loves and supports his daughter.”
Loving and supporting someone is, for the record, not the same thing as meeting your court-ordered child support payments.
According to this report, Rihanna’s takeaway from their relationship is basically that Chris Brown is a family man who always does right by his loved ones.
“And Rihanna also knows from their time together that being a father was something he’s always wanted,” the insider declares.
Wanting something really bad always means that you’re responsible with it, right? Like teens and new cars, or little kids and puppies, or Chris Brown and women.
“And although she’s not involved in his life anymore,” the source claims. “From her perspective he’s been super devoted to his daughter Royalty.”
If she’s not in his life anymore … what possible perspective could she have? Unless she reads a lot of wholesome Chris Brown fanfiction.
To be clear, this alleged source isn’t going so far as to claim that Rihanna knows the facts of the case or, you know, any salient details.
“Rihanna has no idea what his child support agreement is though,” the insider admits.
But apparently that’s not important to her, the source says, “and she has no real interest in those details.”
“She does however, feel confident that Chris will do the right thing when it comes to supporting his daughter,” the insider asserts.
So … this report is claiming that Riri is Chris’ ideal character witness?
If Rihanna is really viewing Chris through rose-tinted glasses, Chris’ feelings are said to be even stronger.
“Not a day goes by without Chris thinking about Rihanna,” an insider tells HollywoodLife. “He still thinks she’s the most beautiful girl in the world and he truly believes that she’s the love of his life.”
First of all, he doesn’t think that Rihanna’s the most beautiful girl in the world. He knows. It’s a fact.
“Chris tries to live his life without regrets,” the source reports. “But he can’t help wishing things had played out differently between him and Rihanna.”
We’ll say this much — there are some men who beat a woman’s face until it’s almost beyond recognition and don’t regret it. But regets don’t mean that Chris is a good dude.
Rihanna is many things. Savvy, beautiful, talented, gorgeous, funny, stunningly attractive, witty … the list goes on.
What she is not is a damn fool. A little more compassionate than is good for her? Sure. But she’s no fool.
We have an extremely difficult time believing that Rihanna imagines that Chris is some kindhearted family man. She knows better than most that he is not.
But we could absolutely believe that Riri has a friend who is s–tty enough to project their own nostalgia for Chris onto her and also blab about it to a tabloid.
We’re not saying that this is what happened, but … it’s certainly more plausible than Rihanna losing her mind.

Big Brother Recap: Who Won the Battle Back?!
Big Brother brought a former player back to the game Thursday night.
Yes, we’re at the stage of the game in which the players are dwindling, so a returnee is just what the producers ordered to keep the Big Brother train going for a little while longer.
But before that, it was time to split up the showmance that consisted of Faysal and Haleigh.
The episode kicked off with Kaycee deciding against using the power of veto. It was an unsurprising move because Kaycee was working with HOH Angela.
JC, who has been one of the more controversial houseguests this summer recognized that it was time to start distancing himself from Tyler.
This came to him after he told Tyler they needed to target Angela and Kaycee for eviction because both will be taking each other to the finale night.
Tyler shut this thought down, and it only made JC realize that he needed to find new allies. That’s why he turned to Brett, and the duo concluded that they needed to work together and make plans for the future.
The live eviction consisted of Faysal throwing Angela under the bus. He was mad that he was on the block next to Haleigh, and boy did he make Angela aware of it.
It was the first time Faysal spoke his mind to the whole house, and it made for an awkward eviction ceremony. Poor Haleigh was out of words for Julie’s outfit when it came to her turn to address the house.
- Tyler votes to evict: Faysal
- Brett votes to evict: Faysal
- Sam votes to evict: Haleigh
- JC votes to evict: Faysal
- Kaycee votes to evict: Faysal
Faysal was evicted by a vote of 4-1.
Julie pulled no punches during her eviction interview with him, wondering why he gave up the game to Level Six. It got worse when he didn’t know whether he would have used the veto on himself or his girlfriend.
Yes, we can call Haleigh his girlfriend because they are officially an item!
As for the Battle Back, it will go down as one of the easiest competitions in Big Brother history. Hell, even Rockstar had a chance!
When we caught up with the jury house, Bayleigh opened up about her target if she returned to the game. She knew Tyer was causing all of the problems, so he was her number one.
Scottie said that he was going after Angela and his aim was to get into an alliance with Tyler. He stopped short of saying he would make a final two deal with him, but Tyler has those with everyone in the house anyway.
Scottie won the Battle Back, and everyone seemed happy to have him back in the game. We wonder how long that will last.
What are your thoughts on the latest twist and turns?
Who do you want to win HOH?

Kate Gosselin vs. Jon Gosselin: Inside Their Battle Over Hannah
DING! DING! DING!
It is – tragically, painfully, astoundingly – back on again between Kate Gosselin and Jon Gosselin.
Nearly 10 years after the couple filed for divorce, tension between the reality stars remains as strong and as uncomfortable as ever… with their teenage daughter now caught in between.
Over the past few weeks, Jon Gosselin has been sharing numerous photos of himself and 14-year old Hannah.
She even said her formerly estranged parent was “the best dad anyone could ask for,” which is quite the change of tune for any of Jon’s kids to sing.
It’s great that Hannah is getting along well with her pops, of course. Even Kate might say that in a moment of truth; it’s not like she wants her children to be ignored by their father.
But then Jon took things to an unexpected different level when he alleged that Hannah is living with him “permanently.”
Is this really the case?!?
Jon did, after all, send Hannah off to her first day of eighth grade this week.
She is clearly sleeping at her dad’s house quite often.
Nevertheless, sources close to Kate have argued, Jon is a big huge liar and she maintains primary custody of all eight children the ex-couple share.
It’s yet another weird situation between the exes, along with a confusing one and a cantankerous one.
According to a new Radar Online report, meanwhile, it’s also a long-gestating issue.
The website has obtained Pennsylvania court records that detail the former couple’s years-long secret custody battle that has only been ratched up in recent months.
For example:
According to these papers, a judge filed a custody order on April 5, 2018 that apparently made Kate very mad. She tried to fight this ruling for months.
On May 4, Gosselin filed a motion for reconsideration, which means she asked the judge to change his previous decision from about a month earlier.
On May 8, Kate filed an appeal to the county’s superior court.
On June 14, the appeal was shut down.
Kate “did not present legal argument to justify this Court’s jurisdiction,” the judge ruled at this time, adding that she filed the appeal more than 30 days after the court’s order and adding:
“This Court has no jurisdiction to excuse the failure to file a timely notice of appeal.”
Also in June, Gosselin filed an emergency petition for special relief, which fast-tracks an urgent case. This was rejected by the court.
Many specifics in regard to threse legal maneuvers are not known at this time, but it’s pretty clear there has been ongoing legal wrangling between Jon and Kate over Hannah.
Jon does appear to have made some progress in his custody battle, but Kate also remains the primary caregiver, as far as we can tell.
Things also remain as ugly as ever between the former co-stars, but we guess they’ve come a long way in a year.
Remember: At this time in 2017, Jon and Kate were LITERALLY fighting over Hannah.
