Yung Mazi, Rapper Who Claimed to Be "Bulletproof," Shot and Killed
Yung Maz, a rapper who previously claimed to have been shot 11 times and who survived because he was “bulletproof,” was gunned down in Atlanta on Sunday.
He was 31 years old.
The fatal incident took place outside a pizza shop named Urban Pie just before 9 p.m. ESY, with local authorities saying multiple shots were fired at the scene and a suspect was spotted running away.
No arrests have been made, however.
John Henson, deputy chief investigator of the DeKalb County Medical Examiner’s Office, identified the victim by his legal name, Jabril Abdur-Rahman.
The artist, who collaborated over the years with such big-name artists as Rich Homie Quan and Yung Thug, had been involved in numerous gun-related altercations prior to his death.
He claimed in a video from June 2016 that he had survived 10 shootings during his lifetime up to that point.
Following a December shooting at a Waffle House in Buckhead, Georgia, he Tweeted that “God made me bulletproof” and that’s why he survived.
According to a police report at that time, a man walked into the restaurant and – without uttering a word – opened fire on the rapper and then left.
Yung Mazi told police he’d never seen the assailant before.
In light of the rapper finally losing his life to gunfire, the hashtag “#RIPYungMazi” has been trending on Twitter today.
“Rest easy to my bruddda young mazzzziiiiii my brudddaaa. Damnnnn,” wrote Travis Scott upon learning Mazi had been killed.
Speaking to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution by phone about the tragedy, the rapper’s brother, Luqman Abdur-Rahman, asked for privacy.
Asked last year why he was so frequently a target, Yung Mazi responded:
“I might walk around with a quarter million dollars’ worth of jewelry on,” adding that his light skin tone made people resent him.
In a 2015 video, filmed from a hospital bed, the artist said the following:
“Public Service Announcement…from my legs. My legs done had enough. So, tell your shooters start aiming for some (expletive) that’s gonna kill somebody.”
Yung Mazi had about 145,000 Instagram followers at the time of his death.
May he rest in peace.

Yung Joc: Could he Be Jasmine Washington’s Baby Daddy?!?
Ready to take another spin on the Jasmine Washington baby carousel?
Those who religiously watch Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta online have sat back and watched this season, as Washington has been added to the cast in a genius casting move by producers.
Her presence has created quite the awkward love triangle, considering Washington gave birth to a son last summer who she claims belongs to Kirk Frost.
The long-time reality star has denied knocking Washington up, swearing he didn’t step out on wife Rasheeda.
The controversy has breathed new life into the VH1 series, prompting viewers to wonder who is telling the truth; whether Frost’s marriage will last; and also to constantly ask the only question that matters at this point:
WHO IS JASMINE WASHINGTON’S BABY DADDY?
We appear to now have a new contender.
According to Hollywood Life sources, it may be true that a Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star fertilized Washington’s egg with his sperm back in the day.
But it might not have been Frost. It may have been Yung Joc.
And we may very well find out the truth in the near future, as an insider tells that website that Frost and Joc are both up for taking a DNA test.
“Kirk and Joc are boys and while they made some mistakes, they have a heart,” a source hilariously, supposedly told Hollywood Life of the situation.
The source goes on to allege that Frost has admitted to sleeping with Washington at some point.
“They both know there’s a possibility that Jasmine’s baby could be either one of there’s,” the insider says, adding:
“They’re discussing going to take a paternity test – together.”
Why would Kirk and Yung Joc possibly think this was a good idea?
“It’s just the right thing to do,” the site writes, refraining from mentioning that it would also serve as an amazing season finale cliffhanger for the series.
Kirk and Rasheeda have been married for 17 years. She continues to stand by her man, but that would likely changes if Kirk were proven to the father.
He has apparently been “keeping his fingers, toes and even eyes crossed that Joc’s the father,” a source previously told Hollywood Life.
“This situation is killing the both of them and causing a wave a drama through their lives and the only way to fix this is to take a DNA test,” the insider concludes.
And forget their own lives, right?
There’s another life at the center of this mess.
“That’s a little baby that Jasmine’s taking care of and the last thing Joc and Kirk are trying to be is a deadbeat dad,” the insider says.
We’ll keep readers apprised of this situation and of any pending DNA tests.
For now, take a moment to respond in the Comments section:
Who do YOU think got Jasmine pregnant?

Snooki: One Hot "Yung Mommy" In New Music Video
She"s not a regular mom. She"s a cool, yung mom.
In her latest attempt to stay relevant, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi made a music video title, "Yung Mommy."
Polizzi reminisces about her days on Jersey Shore and how far she"s come since then. And by that, we mean getting knocked up by her then-boyfriend/now-husband Jionni LaValle.
"I used to be so wild; I was the life of the party. Now I"m all grown up so instead, they call me mommy," she raps.
"All these dudes were hopeless but then I met Jionni."
Life is full of surprises.
The video is actually kind of fun, and Polizzi does seem to be up for poking fun at herself. The music video features extras from Dance Moms (I made that up, but it"s a safe assumption), as well as the red solo cups that served as Shore"s staple stemware.
Polizzi also sings about "stretch marks," breastfeeding and "saggy nipples" as she dances in a leopard print bustier and black tutu.
Even the reality star herself told viewers that the video was made for a bit of a laugh.
"Hey guys, it’s Nicole—or should I say, Yung Mommy! LOL!" she wrote.
"The wait is finally over! Here it is—my music video for "Yung Mommy!" Don’t take it too seriously—it’s just meant to be fun and funny, so I hope you enjoy it! Let me know what you think in the comments below."
Polizzi has reiterated time and time again that the song is meant to be fun, and not a serious attempt at breaking into the record business.
"Here it is. My first music video," she posted to Instagram on July 27th,
"I"ve decided to be an ass and record a song about my life and being a mom and shoot this fun and hysterical music video to go along with it. I hope I win a Grammy for this one.
"YOUNG MOMMY, OUT."
It"s not the jam of the summer, but it could be the jam of late July?
