Chelsea Houska: Look at My Brand New Baby"s Amazing Hair!
Chelsea Houska was presented with the most special birthday gift one could ever receive on Wednesday.
And here’s the thing: She gave it to herself!
(Okay, granted, husband Cole DaBoer played at least some role in the gift.)
We speak, of course, about Houska giving birth this week to her third child, a little girl named Layne.
This would be a monumental/exciting/blessed event for any young lady, of course, but it was made all the more special because Layne now shares a birthday with her own mother.
Chelsea turned 27 years old on Wednesday.
“Happy birthday to my sweet perfect wife Chelsea DeBoer who just gave our family this beautiful blessing!” wrote Cole as a caption to the picture below, recognizing this cool coincidence and adding:
“Sharing the same amazing day I am so in love with our family!
“Our newest edition Baby Layne!!”
Now, a day after posting this image with their followers, Chelsea and Cole have followed up with another snapshot of their newborn.
This one was published on her Instagram Story by Chelsea, who took note of one unique aspect as a caption to the photo.
“Look at that hair,” wrote an excited Houska at the bottom of the image, alongside a heart-eyes emoji.

Chelsea and Cole are already proud parents to a 17-month old son named Watson Cole.
And Chelsea also has a daughter named Aubree Lind, courtesy of a previous relationship with Adam Lind, an ex that continues to (allegedly) break the law and end up in jail.
“I’m grateful that [Aubree] has someone like Cole, [someone] who has gone above and beyond,” Chelsea told Dr. Drew Pinksy just this past Monday on MTV’s Teen Mom 2 reunion special.
But she also admitted that Lind’s past will probably have some kind of effect on his daughter at some point.
“There’s no doubt that this has to hurt her, will hurt her, deep down someday,” she added on stage at this reunion.
But anyway.
We’re not here to talk about the past or about any other of Chelsea’s kids. Not right now at least.
We’re here to look forward to a hopefully very bright future for Houska, DaBoer and their new addition.
And maybe their future new additions?
We know, we know: they only just became parents again, but Chelsea did once say the following:
I just want so many baby Coles. I think it’d just be fun to have so many babies closer together.

Kim Kardashian Claps Back at Mom-Shamers Over North West"s Straightened Hair
As many photos as Kim has uploaded to social media, Kardashian-West family photos are shockingly rare. And there might be more to that than privacy concerns.
Kim posted an adorable photo of her daughter and husband, but mom-shames came out of the woodwork to blast Kim over it.
Why? Because they think that Kim is ruining North’s hair. And some think she’s doing it on purpose … due to racism.
The photo shows North West, adorable and tiny, giving her father, Kanye, a kiss on his cheek.
Kanye is smiling, clearly overwhelmed with love for his daughter.
“I can still feel the love,” Kim Kardashian captioned this sweet pic.
But a number of people, both on Instagram and on Twitter, were hung up on one little detail in this image.
North West’s hair is straightened.
After Kim tweeted the photo, someone decided to offer her some unsolicited advice.
“Don’t straighten her hair too much it’ll ruin her curls,” a total stranger implored Kim. “I did that to my hair and ruined it but I’m finally getting my natural curly hair back.”
Amazingly, rather than ignore that absolutely unsolicited instruction on how to manage her daughter’s hair, Kim replied.
“She is allowed twice a year, on her birthday and birthday party!” Kim answered. “This pic was taken back in June on her bday.”
So that explains it. And we all saw North with her hair straghtened when she and Penelope celebrated their birthdays.
Unfortunately, that person’s unsolicited advice was one of the nicer bits of mom-shaming feedback that Kim received.
Within the Instagram comments, someone had the audacity to suggest that Kim had forced North to straighten her hair … because Kim longed to have a white daughter.
Fortunately, Kim didn’t have to deliver the verbal smackdown that this person so richly deserved. She has so many other followers to do this.
“So you think just bc she straightened her daughter’s hair that means she wanted a white kid?” someone replied to that comment. “Maybe north just want to try something different and ask her mom.”
As Kim said, North is only allowed to do this twice a year in order to protect the integrity of her hair.
Back in June, when Kim shared photos of North’s party, there was similar discourse.
Troll openly accused Kim of straightening North West’s hair to make her look white.
For context, we should remember that black people’s hair has been policed — sometimes literally — within the United States for centuries, and that continues to this day.
Hairstyles featuring black hair in its natural curls are sometimes labeled as “eccentric” and “unprofessional” by society and by employers.
(Unless, of course, they’re being appropriated by a beautiful white celebrity like Kim Kardashian or Zac Efron, in which case they’re daring and trendy)
So many black women wear wigs, extensions, or use straighteners in order to conform to beauty standards that originate in white supremacy. So, yes, hair matters.
But Kim is not forcing North to keep her hair straight. It’s a special treat that happens only twice a year.
North loves her long, curly hair, and gets excited when she sees other girls with similar hair because she knows that it’s special.
If Kim had wanted a white daughter, she could have had a baby with, well, any of tens of millions of white dudes who would have been down to try until that happened.
Kim is in love with Kanye (despite his, um, issues), and she does her best to tackles the special challenges involved with having biracial children.
It would be nice if trolls on social media could be a little less vile. But … we won’t hold our breath.

Jeremy Roloff has taken to shocking Little People, Big World fans with everything he does and says these days.
First, of course, the father to Ember and husband to Audrey announced on Instagram that he and his family will NOT return to the show that made them famous.
OPTION 1: Jeremy with long hair.
He told followers just a few days ago that this decision was reason prior to the start of filming on the most recent batch of new episodes, elaborating as follows:
“After 14 years, over 300 episodes, and 17 seasons, the time has come.
“We have the most loyal fans on TV and we appreciate every one of you. You are what made doing this so fun.”
Jeremy, who will soon release a memoir with Audrey and who still runs the company Beating 50 Percent with Audrey, also made it clear they won’t be going away.
“We will still be supporting the family as they carry the #LPBW torch onward,” he wrote.
“We’re not disappearing. We have a lot of exciting stuff in the works and are eager to continue the work that the Lord has called us to!”
Meanwhile, as fans continue to process this major news, Jeremy has gone ahead and dropped yet another bombshell on his supporters:
He’s cut his hair!
OPTION 2: Jeremy with short hair.
It’s true!
Granted, this is not the best view of said haircut, but fans are still adamant that the cut has taken place.
“WOW YOU CUT YOUR HAIR!” reads one comment. “Zoom in. That’s not a bun. That’s a cut.”
Jeremy gave fans this glimpse of the back of his head while on a peaceful stroll with Ember and Jackson Roloff.
“Showing my daughter and nephew around the farm on a warm summer evening,” he wrote as a caption to the snapshot, getting all profound and adding:
It wasn’t too long ago I was the one in the wagon – we all were.”
OPTION 3: Jeremy with a man bun.
Jeremy’s hair has long been a topic of debate among TLC viewers.
Some have been straight-up disgusted by the messy mop top, while others have considered it a significant part of Jeremy’s identity.
As for his wife? Audrey recently hinted on her own Instagram page that a change may be on tap.
“CAST YOUR VOTE!!!” she wrote last week, telling followers:
“Should @jeremyroloff cut his hair?!Comment “nooooo” if you want him to keep the curls and comment “yes” if you think it’s time to change it up.”

Jenelle Evans to Chelsea Houska: Nice Hair Extensions, You Bald Bitch!
Jenelle Evans has a history of subtweeting her Teen Mom 2 co-stars, often talking major trash from beneath a protective blanket of plausible deniability.
It’s a cowardly move from a woman who fancies herself the ultimate badass, but nothing Jenelle does really surprises us anymore,
Her latest target is Chelsea Houska, aka one of the most beloved reality stars on television and someone you really shouldn’t mess with if you’re a universally-reviled villain like Jenelle Evans.
Chelsea recently shared a photo of herself (below) sporting some new hair extensions.
And naturally, Jenelle had to seize the opportunity to talk some trash.
“Only get leave in extensions if you want your hair super thin and falling out after 3-4 months,” Evans tweeted.
Now, Chelsea is the least dramatic of the Teen Moms, and she’s been open about how fatigued she is by the constant bickering among the cast.
As such, she very rarely engages in any social media trash talk.
Fortunately, Chelsea has a badass dad who’s willing to clap back on her behalf.
Randy Houska tweeted the below photo yesterday, along with a caption reading:
“Dammit @ChelseaHouska !! You should have told me not to get extensions last year! Look how super thin my hair is now!!!!!”
Naturally, Jenelle took advantage of that plausible deniability we were talking about and very unconvincingly denied that she was talking about Chelsea in her original tweet:
“Can’t tweet something without someone thinking it’s about them. #IfTheShoeFits”
“If the shoe fits” is an idiom that’s generally used to confirm you are talking about a specific person, but we don’t expect Jenelle to understand that any more than we expect ourselves to understand anything she tweets.
Eventually, the woman who put in the extensions was asked if the procedure can result in hair loss.
“Not as long as it is done correctly” she responded.
She also revealed that the extensions Chelsea got “can last up to 6 months with proper care.”
Jenelle copped to undergoing a similar procedure recently, leading one fan to ask:
“So why talk sh-t when you’ve done it before???”
It’s a very solid question.
“Cuz I won’t ever do it again…. duh,” Evans replied.
“Lol my hair got SO THIN and it was to my shoulders. I cried. David cut them out when he met me. They were sewed in. Then I got beaded ones and that was bad too.”
Wait … David Eason cut out Jenelle’s hair extensions when they started dating?
Sounds like something out a redneck Bible story.

North West: Is Kim Kardashian Damaging Her Hair by Straightening It?
Fans are always happy to get more Kardashian-West family photos, but some critics don’t always like what they see.
North West had a birthday a few weeks ago. She is now 5 years old!!
But when some people saw that Kim had given her a straightened, Ariana Grande-style ponytail, they flipped out.
North West and Penelope Disick look so cute, right?
North is wearing a swimsuit, a robe, and a unicorn horn — amazing for a birthday party or any other occassion.
But it was North’s hair that drew the eyes of fans.
Not only on Kim’s Instagram stories, but when she was spotted out and about in public.
Some fans were very distressed to see that Kim had once again seemed to straighten her little girl’s hair.
“I hope those are not hair extensions in a four year old!” one Twitter user wrote.
We don’t think that informing that person that North turned 5 a few days ago would put them at ease.
(To be clear, we’re also not sure what’s wrong with a four-year-old doing their hair — hair extensions aren’t, like, tattoos or plastic surgery or whatever)
“I reall hate how the Kardashians keep straightening that poor baby’s hair tho,” another Twitter user writes.
This one, it seems, objects to the fact that they’re messing with her hair at all, regardless of her age.
“North West gonna have heat damage before she’s 10 — before I even knew what straightener was smh.”
SMH, of course, is an acronym for smacking my head, an expression of frustration.
There is a racial component to hair and hairstyles.
A lot of hairstyles that just happen to be banned by dress codes and company policies as “unprofessional” also just happen to be easier hairstyles for people with curly hair like North’s.
For black people, in other words.
This is why many black people in the US and other countries take great pride in their hair — because it’s part of who they are, even though white supremacist cultural forces have tried to force them to have straightened hair or no hair at all.
So … is Kim forcing North to have straight hair in order to fit in with European beauty standards?
No.
First of all, North only rarely wears her hair straightened.
Kim has spoken at length about how much North loves her hair and about how Kim encourages her biracial children to love their hair and skin.
And we just can’t imagine Kim forcing North to wear her hair one way or the other.
Especially, you know, for North’s own birthday party. Some parents would, sure.
But say what you will about Kim Kardashian — she is a loving mother.
Or, as one Twitter user phrased it:
“Kim has taken such good care of North’s curls over the years. The comments about North’s hair being straightened [are] tired,” the person writes.
That tweet continues: “First of all, mind your own children.”
Now, if a parent is doing some sort of harm to their child, by all means, we all have a duty to speak up.
But straightening North’s hair or giving her hair extensions or whatever for her birthday and a visit to a candy shop is honestly no big deal.
It is certainly not harmful.
Kim Kardashian is hailed as a “beauty guru” by many. We somehow can’t imagine that she’s going to sabotage her own daughter’s hair.

Megan Fox Mom-Shamed Over Her Sons" Long Hair
In the past, Megan Fox has come under fire for letting her young sons be themselves.
Now, the mom-shamers are back and attacking her over a precious photo of her boys at the beach.
What the trolls can’t handle is that her sons have long hair.
Megan Fox is getting shamed for the photo that you’re about to see.
All because her sons have long hair.
Plenty of men have long hair. But there are people in this world who insist that the toxic cultural forces of the 1950s were right, and that all men must have short hair.
More to the point, there are some people whose ideas of hair length and gender are so inextricably linked that, in their twisted minds, a person with long hair is a girl.
Here is the great yet “controversial” photo of 5-year-old Noah and 4-year-old Bodhi.
It’s a precious photo and they both look happy, and yet some people just couldn’t keep themselves from mom-shaming the star.
“Megan why your boys look like they r girls?”
They literally just have hair.
“Lol … poor things look like little girls …”
Fun fact! Boys and girls both come in all sorts of sizes and shapes, and being mistaken for one or the other is not a source of shame.
“Poor boys they look like girls.”
We should mention that the spelling on a number of these comments was especially bad.
“Why don’t u cut boy’s heir?? U r crazy about baby girl.”
The fake sympathy continued.
“Poor darlings they look like they’re wearing wigs!”
But that wasn’t the worst of it.
Some of the comments became even nastier.
“‘My boys are girls, I’m progressive.’ Yeah progressively assisting suicide and mass delusion!”
First of all, that’s … not the statement that Megan Fox was making. Boys with long hair are, in fact, boys.
Second of all, since this person decided to bring up trans children, suicide risk plummets for trans kids who are accepted and loved for who they are by their families.
But that’s … not really relevant to this photo.
Before you lose all faith in humanity, there were plenty of positive comments.
In fact, we would say that most of the comments were affirming or simply direct praise.
“i love that you’re letting your kids choose how they wanna look.”
In addition to posts that ignored the criticisms posted by trolls, some took things a step further and ridiculed the haters.
“WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?! It’s hair! Men/boys have sported long hair since the beginning of time.”
Nice to see some anger on the right side of the comments for a change.
“You sit here and wave your fingers at men for body shaming women and here you are shaming kids.”
That’s a very good comparison.
“STFU and back the hell up. These are not your kids, their hair has ZERO impact on you, but your words… have impact on them.”
Photos of Megan Fox’s kids are rare, and we have to wonder if mom-shaming plays a role in that.
If every time that she shows a picture of her children, she gets accused of being part of the “trans illuminati agenda,” she’s going to give fans fewer glimpses into her life.
Some mom-shaming comes from a place of genuine concern. Questions like “is that baby old enough for solid food” usually come from a place of love or curiosity.
But these particular trolls seem to be trying to induce Megan to cut her boys’ hair short to meet their arbitrary definition of masculinity.
It’s absurd. And cutting your child’s hair shorter than they’d like it because of some internet comments is not something that a good parent should do.
The world has always known that Megan is hot. Only in recent years have fans discovered that she’s also an amazing mom.

Cardi B Stuns With Makeup-Free Selfie and Natural Hair
Cardi B is talented and beautiful. So beautiful, in fact, that fans don’t mind learning the position in which she got knocked up.
But though she’s known for her carefully manicured looks, she’s showing fans another side of her that few have seen.
Take at look below at her make-up free, natural haired selfie. She’s gorgeous.
Though she had appeared in the past on Love & Hip-Hop: New York, Cardi B was catapulted to becoming a household name with her hit single, “Bodak Yellow.”
After being entranced by her music — the lyrics, the hook, everything — a lot of people were drawn in by her looks.
Cardi B is hot. She just is. You can tell from the photos.
When someone’s looks are tied to their brand, as is so often the case, they seldom let people see them with their guard down.
Like a growing number of celebrities, Cardi B plays by a different set of rules.
Take a look at her makeup-free look and her big, natural hair.
She looks great!
She looks different, but certainly not unrecognizable, which means that she’s doing right by herself when she does her makeup.
Cardi B captioned this photo:
“Knock me down 9 times but i get up 10 bitch!”
From the flow, that actually sounds like it would be a perfect lyric for “Bodak Yellow.”
But the line is actually from another song of hers, “Get Up 10.”
(Logistically, one assumes that Cardi B got up once before any of the nine knockdowns occurred, which would explain in the discrepency between how many times she is knocked down and how many times she arises)
Showing herself with her natural hair — well, straightened to some degree, but mostly natural — is actually a big deal, in a way that sharing a makeup-free snap is not.
Because women of color living in the Western world have had their appearances critiqued and controlled for centuries, forced by white supremacy to conform to European beauty standards.
Cardi B may play that game with her public appearance, but this photo is a powerful and important reminder that she has a lot of hair, and that she has to put in a great deal of work to make it appear as it does in public.
(When she isn’t wearing a wig, that is)
Recently, Cardi B announced her pregnancy.
She is pregnant by her fiance, Offset.
Initially, many of her fans grew concerned when she became engaged so quickly after skyrocketing to fame.
They wondered if Offset was hitching himself to her before it really hit home for her what an incredible future her career has in store.
(Doubts were magnified when a woman came forward claiming to be Offset’s baby mama … and Offset’s refusal to take a paternity test)
Many of those concerns have vanished as fans are enthusiastic for Cardi B to become a mom.
Cardi B’s selfie is inspirational and we’re so glad that she elected to share it.
That does not mean that we don’t like any of her other looks.
Like all women, and also all other folks, she is entitled to be the author of her own appearance. That means that she can wear as much or as little makeup as she likes.
So long as she keeps churning out excellent music, we’ll keep listening.
Speaking of which, if you’ll excuse us, we need to listen to “Bodak Yellow” one or ten times.
