Drake Is Suing a Former Hookup Who Claimed He Raped, Impregnated Her

He may have quashed his beef with Meek Mill, but Drake is now in another battle with a woman who once claimed that he’d gotten her pregnant.

Drake says that, in addition to this baby scam, this woman made false rape allegations against him and demanded that he buy her silence.

He is suing her for extortion and for defamation.

According to court documents filed by Drake’s team and obtained by TMZ, Drake met Layla Lace at one of his concerts in early 2017.

Specifically, he met the curvaceous Instagram model while he was on his Boy Meets World Tour in Manchester, England.

In February of 2017, Drake says that he and Layla had a consensual hookup.

The sexual activity is said to have taken place in his hotel room.

According to Drake’s team, “Layla also voluntarily and seemingly happily performed oral sex.”

Drake’s attorney, celebrity lawyer Larry Stein, says that Layla was fine with the hookup — but enraged when Drake left it at that.

Apparently, she had been hoping that Drake would take her on tour with him, and did not take it well when he did not.

Though Drake and Layla continued to text, evidence contained within the lawsuit shows that Layla was more demanding of Drake’s attention.

Documents claim that Layla began to imagine a relationship beyond a hookup and flirtatious texts — that she came to believe that the two of them were dating.

That, the lawsuit says, was a factor when she claimed in April of 2017 that Drake had gotten her pregnant and then ghosted her.

Things got worse from there.

Drake’s team alleges that, when Layla was unable to get anything out of him or produce any evidence of an actual pregnancy or child, she changed tactics.

It was then that Layla allegedly accused Drake of rape — which was investigated by police and then cleared.

While police failing to find evidence of sexual assault is not the same thing as proving that it never happened, Drake’s team has that text messaging history.

With those text messages as evidence demonstrating Layla’s desperation to see him, they hope to prove defamation.

Sexual assault allegations should always be taken seriously, in part because the number of false reports are dwarfed by real ones, which are in turn dwarfed by the number of survivors who never come forward.

But that does not mean that there are never false reports. While it’s rare for a jilted ex to go to such extremes, it sounds like Layla was not even an ex.

Based upon these documents, it sounds like Layla was a hookup with whom Drake later flirted in text messages before they became too much.

Unless there is more to this story that we’re not seeing, it sounds like she may have become a stalker.

Not all stalkers are deranged fans. Some stalkers imagine an elaborate relationship with a celebrity, and then become enraged when the celebrity does not share their delusion.

Drake says that, when the sexual assault claim fell through, she tried to demand money to keep her from going public.

That said, so far, we have not heard Layla’s team’s side of the story.

We know that Drake fathered one secret love child in the past. Let’s not pretend that he isn’t capable of being shady.

But if she really did try to extort money and make false claims about Drake in the process, he may have a very solid case for defamation and extortion.

We’ll be sure to keep an eye on this case as it develops.

Yung Mazi, Rapper Who Claimed to Be "Bulletproof," Shot and Killed

Yung Maz, a rapper who previously claimed to have been shot 11 times and who survived because he was “bulletproof,” was gunned down in Atlanta on Sunday.

He was 31 years old.

The fatal incident took place outside a pizza shop named Urban Pie just before 9 p.m. ESY, with local authorities saying multiple shots were fired at the scene and a suspect was spotted running away.

No arrests have been made, however.

John Henson, deputy chief investigator of the DeKalb County Medical Examiner’s Office, identified the victim by his legal name, Jabril Abdur-Rahman.

The artist, who collaborated over the years with such big-name artists as Rich Homie Quan and Yung Thug, had been involved in numerous gun-related altercations prior to his death.

He claimed in a video from June 2016 that he had survived 10 shootings during his lifetime up to that point.

Following a December shooting at a Waffle House in Buckhead, Georgia, he Tweeted that “God made me bulletproof” and that’s why he survived.

According to a police report at that time, a man walked into the restaurant and – without uttering a word – opened fire on the rapper and then left.

Yung Mazi told police he’d never seen the assailant before.

In light of the rapper finally losing his life to gunfire, the hashtag “#RIPYungMazi” has been trending on Twitter today.

“Rest easy to my bruddda young mazzzziiiiii my brudddaaa. Damnnnn,” wrote Travis Scott upon learning Mazi had been killed.

Speaking to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution by phone about the tragedy, the rapper’s brother, Luqman Abdur-Rahman, asked for privacy.

Asked last year why he was so frequently a target, Yung Mazi responded:

“I might walk around with a quarter million dollars’ worth of jewelry on,” adding that his light skin tone made people resent him.

In a 2015 video, filmed from a hospital bed, the artist said the following:

“Public Service Announcement…from my legs. My legs done had enough. So, tell your shooters start aiming for some (expletive) that’s gonna kill somebody.”

Yung Mazi had about 145,000 Instagram followers at the time of his death.

May he rest in peace.

Shia LaBeouf Called Cops "Silly," Claimed to Be in the National Guard

As you may have heard, Shia LaBeouf was arrested again on Friday night.

At this point, the troubled actor’s antics are more sad than funny, but every time The Beef f–ks up, some amusing details emerge shortly thereafter, so it kinda balances out.

In fact, you might say we’re…even Stevens. Sorry.

Anyway, just like the time Shia freestyle rapped or began screaming about America during his infamous visit to Mt. Rushmore, LaBeouf’s latest brush with the law was loaded with enough WTF? moments to assure the Gary Buseys and Nicolas Cages of the world that the psycho torch has been passed.

Shia kicked things off by alleging that the LAPD had plotted to kill a friend of his. In order to appreciate the full batsh-ttery of this claim, it’s important to know that Shia was arrested in Austin, roughly 1,400 miles from LA.

As they often do with Shia, things got weirder from there.

The cops who had observed his erratic behavior asked him not to jaywalk through a busy intersection. He did so, and then proceeded to taunt the officers, repeatedly calling one of them “silly.”

Despite the fact that the officers almost certainly recognized him (if not, the assembled crowd surely alerted them that this was someone famous), LaBeouf claimed to be a decorated National Guardsman, for reasons that we’re sure made perfect sense to him at the time.

Despite his long history of similarly odd run-ins with the law, Shia will probably get off with a fine and some community service.

We kid the guy, but in all seriousness, we hope he manages to get the help he clearly needs.
