Well, her dark times.
A few years ago, she began behaving strangely, as we saw in episodes, and many fans speculated that she"d developed a drug problem.
She was falling asleep while talking on the phone, she temporarily lost custody of her twins to Corey Simms.
And while she"s admitted that she did take prescription painkillers for a short period of time after giving birth to her youngest daughter, she"s never outright said that she"s had a problem with them.
She"s definitely never said that a drug problem was to blame for all that questionable behavior.
But in a new episode of her podcast, Leah is finally getting honest.

Lena Dunham Reveals Battle With Drug Addiction
Lena Dunham has been a divisive figure for the majority of her career, but this week, the Girls creator revealed that she shares something in common with tens of millions of Americans from all walks of life and all regions of the country.
In an interview with actor Dax Shepard, Dunham revealed that she has struggled with prescription pill addiction for several years.
“I was having crazy anxiety and having to show up for things that I didn’t feel equipped to show up for … but I know I need to do it, and when I take a Klonopin, I can do it,” Dunham said on the latest episode of Shepard’s podcast.
“I didn’t have any trouble getting a doctor to tell me, ‘No, you’ve got serious anxiety issues, you should be taking this. This is how you should be existing,’” Dunham continued.
“It stopped being, ‘I take one when I fly,’ and it started being like, ‘I take one when I’m awake.’”
Dunham attributes her acute anxiety to trauma stemming from sexual assault and health issues:
“I was diagnosed with pretty serious PTSD,” Lena said.
“I have a few sexual traumas in my past and then I had all these surgeries and then I had my hysterectomy after a period of really extreme pain … It stopped feeling like I had panic attacks and it started feeling like I was a living panic attack.”
These days, it often seems that public figures only open up about substance abuse issues when they’re forced to following some sort of PR disaster, so we commend Lena for opening up of her own volition.
Earlier this week, it was revealed that Dunham will be penning a screenplay for a J.J. Abrams-Steven Spielberg film about a family of Syrian refugees.
On social media, many were critical of the decision to hire Dunham for such a project, arguing that there’s no way someone in her position can relate to the plight of Syrians driven from their homeland by war.
But perhaps Abrams, Spielberg, and company knew what the rest of us did not — that Dunham is a survivor of a different variety, and with sufficient compassion, she may be able to channel her painful past in a creatively productive way.
Only time will tell, of course.
But for now, we applaud Dunham for being candid about such a topic that affects so many, yet is so rarely addressed.

Erica Mena, Love & Hip Hop Star, Arrested for Drug Possession
Erica Mena has been placed under arrest.
The Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta cast member was taken into custody on Friday after police arrived on the scene in response to a domestic dispute.
According to TMZ, Mena and her boyfriend, Clifford Dixon, were both taken away by the cops after an argument got out of hand inside their Johns Creek, Georgia apartment.
Witnesses near the scene told authorities that Mena and Dixon had not only been arguing, but that the latter had kicked in a bedroom door in order to get to the former.
One of Erica and Cliff’s roommates even told police that she/he heard someone get slapped upstairs, although no one actually saw any physical abuse take place.
Cops did not report any signs of an altercation on either party, either.
This is to say, neither Mena nor Dixon had any marks on their bodies at the time of the arrest.
Dixon was arrested for criminal trespass because Mena told cops the property was in her name.
Meanwhile, Erica was arrested for possession of marijuana, despite having less than one ounce of her at the time of the arrest.
She has since made bail.
Mena returned to Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta last season.
Prior to coming on board, she was a staple on Love & Hip Hop: New York.
Other professional ventures for Mena include having written the books “Chronicles of a Confirmed Bachelorette” and “Underneath It All.”
In August of 2017, it was announced that Mena would compete in the first season of VH1’s Scared Famous, which premiered on October 23, 2017.
Mena was previously engaged to Bow Wow and wrote the following upon leaving the New York version of this Love & Hip Hop franchise:
I have fan base that now become my family! I can’t thank you all enough for following & riding this ride. You are all appreciated.
No matter what I’m always going to be Open and Real with you all. This chapter has ended but the real deal is the journey has just begun.
Four years ago became #MenaMonday.
I let the world in and it’s been a crazy ride since. I’ve always been open about who I am & my relationships just because I know my story was meant to be told. I’ve made many mistakes and I get judge[d] harshly.
Thank God I’m as tough and bold as I am because the truth is many are like me.
It’s unclear whether this arrest will impact Mena’s future on VH1.
We don’t mean that she’ll get fired for a little bit of weed, of course.
We mean she may very well get a raise!
Stay tuned to find out what transpires.

Mel B Is a "Habitual Drug User" According to Court Ruling
Earlier this year, Mel B’s court battle with her ex reached new lows when Stephen Belafonte claimed that Mel B is a drunk who clumsily injured herself while intoxicated.
He made the claim to “explain” how her bruises didn’t come from his abuse, but it sounds like the court is taking the allegations about substance abuse seriously.
In fact, the court determined that Mel B is a “habitual, frequent” drug user.
Us Weekly got their hands on some court documents that show that, as far as the legal system is concerned, Mel B is a habitual drug user.
Judge Mark Juhas is the one who reached this conclusion about the former Spice Girl.
“Based on the evidence presented,” his words read. “The court finds that there is a habitual, frequent, and continuous use of controlled substances/alcohol by the petitioner.”
Mel B is the petitioner. Judge Juhas made the ruling following a hearing over the former couple’s custody battle for 7-year-old Madison.
According to the documents, this order is from Tuesday, September 4.
The court’s ruling will have consequences.
Mel B is required to undergo drug testing over the course of the next four months.
We don’t know exactly how regular the testing will be — and there is a chance that Mel may not, either. Our guess is that the testing will be at deliberately random intervals.
Mel and Stephen are required to each pay fifty percent of the cost of the testing.
The good news for Mel is that this testing can happen at her home, through a federally approved facility. So she won’t have to go to, say, a police station.
The court also mandated some new rules for the couple concerning their 7-year-old daughter, Madison.
Neither of them are permitted to be under the influence of any drugs or alcohol while in Madison’s presence.
That means no drinking during their respective custody periods and no drinking 8 hours before they see her.
The two exes are also ordered to hire a new nanny for their daughter.
As you may recall, Mel B’s last nanny also became the lover of both her and Stephen.
It doesn’t sound like the judge addressed this directly, but we get the impression that neither Mel B nor Belafonte are encouraged to bang this particular nanny.
In a court filing on Friday, August 31, Mel B denied that she abuses drugs or alcohol.
(Keep in mind, of course, that the line between using and abusing substances can appear blurry … especially if you have been drinking)
Later that day, she and Stephen reached a settlement.
However, the details of that settlement have so far remained undisclosed to the public.
Whatever it was, of course, the court must still prioritize the best interests of Madison, even if it means making life a little difficult for Madison’s parents for a few months.
Mel B recently revealed that she is undergoing treatments for PTSD.
Though she also mentions the death of her father, a major source of trauma for her was the alleged physical abuse at the hands of Stephen Belafonte during their 10 years of marriage.
In addition to the alleged violence, which she initially denied even after friends and fans noticed bruising on her body, Stephen is also accused of having siphoned a tremendous amount of her money from her.
We hope that this can all get sorted out for the sake of Madison, Mel B, and Mel’s other children, Phoenix and Angel. (Phoenix is 19 but she’s still his mom, you know?)
Mel may be self-medicating for her PTSD using drugs and alcohol. Trauma is a tremendously common predictor for substance abuse.
One way or the other, four months of drug testing should tell us a lot.

Demi Lovato Overdose: Drug Dealer Off the Hook?!
Last week, Demi Lovato’s drug dealer spoke pretty bluntly about his involvement with Demi Lovato … and how he had provided her with the pills on which she overdosed.
Considering that Demi nearly died, that sounds like lousy self-promotion. It also sounded to many like a public confession to one or more crimes.
But apparently the police won’t be charging him over any part of this incident.
Brandon Johnson spoke to TMZ just a little over a week ago and … he did not hold back.
He says that Demi had texted him on the night of her overdose, inviting him to come to her residence.
He says that she was fully aware that he had offered her “aftermarket” pills — powerful painkillers laced with another powerful painkiller.
Oxycodone mixed with fentanyl makes for a dangerous and potentially deadly combination. And he says that Demi knew the risks.
“100% she knew what she was taking,” he insisted.
Sometimes, people speak of their alleged criminal behavior cleverly, in such a way that they haven’t — legally speaking — confessed to anything.
Johnson is not exactly a criminal mastermind. So you might think that police would see his interview and want to interview him themselves, right?
TMZ reports that their sources in law enforcement say that they’re not going after Johnson for this.
The reason? Because this was an overdose, which they classify as a medical emergency rather than a crime.
Johnson is in the clear for this particular incident.
Now, Demi could always try to sue Johnson. if she had died, her loved ones might have tried that — and tried to press charges.
Wrongful death suits can be nasty, and they are sometimes easier to prove than criminal cases.
But since Demi lived, it is difficult to imagine that she will go after this guy. She knows what she allegedly did or did not take and what she knew beforehand.
Besides, her inner circle of colleagues, friends, and family must want her to have as little stress as possible.
Oh, and you know that they don’t want her having any further contact with Johnson. A lawsuit is nearly the opposite of that.
It is important to know that, to hear Johnson tell it, he was much more than Demi’s dealer.
He says that the two of them were primarily just friends, but that their relationship had evolved into a sexual friendship.
He also says that she had sent him that 4-in-the-morning text message because she had wanted to hook up.
It sounds like the suggestion is that hooking up and getting a drug hook-up from him went hand-in-hand.
Clearly they weren’t too close, as he reportedly high-tailed it out of there — leaving Demi’s staff to discover that she had overdosed.
While we’re noting things about Johnson, the dude has been arrested a couple of times this year over possession of drugs, including cocaine.
He also had a fully loaded semi-automatic firearm without a permit, which those who favor an end to drug prohibition might say is worse.
Police have not yet charged Johnson for any specific crimes over his arrest in March.
But that does not mean that he is off the hook forever.
And it is always possible that the attention garnered by Demi’s overdose could mean that prosecutors aim to make an example of Johnson.
Demi, of course, is in rehab on the East Coast. She is said to have limited contact even with her close friends.
She is going to remain in rehab for as long as it takes.
For some people, an addiction is a lifestyle habit that they want to adjust. For others like Demi, a relapse isn’t embarrassing — it’s potentially lethal.
We are so glad that Demi survived and we hope that she makes a full recovery soon — but we’re glad that she’s taking her time in rehab.
We hope that no other creeps slither into her life.
