Mac Miller: Home Cleaned, Purged of All Drugs After Reported Overdose, Police Believe
On Friday, the world lost a great talent. Mac Miller passed away at 26 of an apparent drug overdose.
Police seem confident that Miller died of an overdose, but when they searched his home for drugs, they found almost nothing.
They believe that someone or several someone’s cleaned Miller’s home, removing all evidence of drug use, before they had a chance to investigate.
According to TMZ‘s law enforcement sources, Mac Miller’s home was swept for drugs, which were all removed in the immediate aftermath of Miller’s passing.
Police believe this for three reasons.
One, police were unable to find any drugs in the home of a man who is believed to have died from an overdose — a man who is known for substance abuse problems.
Two, police have apparently spoken to a number of people who were in Miller’s orbit, which apparently made them more certain that his home was “tidied.”
Three, they very reasonably have a hard time imagining that Miller removed all drugs from his home before his alleged overdose.
Not only did the police search fail to find drugs (for the most part), they also didn’t turn up any pill bottles or drug paraphernalia.
(Plenty of homes of people with no substance abuse problems have old pill bottles lying around at the back of a cabinet somewhere, so that’s definitely odd)
Apparently police did find a “tiny” amount of white powder.
It’s unknown who may have cleaned Miller’s home for him, though people were at his house on Thursday night as well as on Friday when someone called 9-1-1.
Police report that no one has said that they saw Miller alive after Thursday night.
It is entirely possible that someone thought that they were doing Miller or his loved ones a favor by scrubbing his house clean of evidence of his drug use.
For all that we know, he may have asked a friend to do just this if he ever overdosed.
Worst case scenario, however, he appears to have overdosed because of some flaw with the drugs in his possession, and someone took everything so that his death could not be traced to them.
We hope not, but that is precisely the reason that law enforcement needs to be able to look at all of the evidence when someone dies.
You might think that you’re doing someone a favor, but you may just leave their grieving loved ones with more questions and less closure.
Miller was found unresponsive in his Studio City home at around noon on Friday, September 7.
A friend called 9-1-1, asking for immediate assistance for a patient in cardiac arrest.
Tragically, Miller was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical responders. He had been scheduled for a video shoot later that very day.
Miller’s history of substance abuse was no secret. Earlier this year, Mac Miller’s DUI hit-and-run resulted in his arrest.
Years ago, Miller opened up about his substance abuse issues through music, admitting to an addiction to a combination of promethazine and codeine known as “purple drank.”
Mac Miller’s death is absolutely tragic. Unfortunately, the narrative that immediately followed his passing has also been heartbreaking.
Awful trolls blamed Ariana Grande for his death.
Suggesting that she should never have broken up with him, or at least not found happiness when she moved on, people actually sought to fault his ex.
In reality, Miller’s substance abuse problem was a huge factor in Ariana’s decision to break up with him in the first place.
The right narrative is that it’s tragic for such a talented young man to die at 26.
Addiction is almost certainly to blame.
We hope that investigators, even working without all of the evidence that they might like, will be able to provide closure to Miller’s family, friends, and fans.

Demi Lovato Overdose: Drug Dealer Off the Hook?!
Last week, Demi Lovato’s drug dealer spoke pretty bluntly about his involvement with Demi Lovato … and how he had provided her with the pills on which she overdosed.
Considering that Demi nearly died, that sounds like lousy self-promotion. It also sounded to many like a public confession to one or more crimes.
But apparently the police won’t be charging him over any part of this incident.
Brandon Johnson spoke to TMZ just a little over a week ago and … he did not hold back.
He says that Demi had texted him on the night of her overdose, inviting him to come to her residence.
He says that she was fully aware that he had offered her “aftermarket” pills — powerful painkillers laced with another powerful painkiller.
Oxycodone mixed with fentanyl makes for a dangerous and potentially deadly combination. And he says that Demi knew the risks.
“100% she knew what she was taking,” he insisted.
Sometimes, people speak of their alleged criminal behavior cleverly, in such a way that they haven’t — legally speaking — confessed to anything.
Johnson is not exactly a criminal mastermind. So you might think that police would see his interview and want to interview him themselves, right?
TMZ reports that their sources in law enforcement say that they’re not going after Johnson for this.
The reason? Because this was an overdose, which they classify as a medical emergency rather than a crime.
Johnson is in the clear for this particular incident.
Now, Demi could always try to sue Johnson. if she had died, her loved ones might have tried that — and tried to press charges.
Wrongful death suits can be nasty, and they are sometimes easier to prove than criminal cases.
But since Demi lived, it is difficult to imagine that she will go after this guy. She knows what she allegedly did or did not take and what she knew beforehand.
Besides, her inner circle of colleagues, friends, and family must want her to have as little stress as possible.
Oh, and you know that they don’t want her having any further contact with Johnson. A lawsuit is nearly the opposite of that.
It is important to know that, to hear Johnson tell it, he was much more than Demi’s dealer.
He says that the two of them were primarily just friends, but that their relationship had evolved into a sexual friendship.
He also says that she had sent him that 4-in-the-morning text message because she had wanted to hook up.
It sounds like the suggestion is that hooking up and getting a drug hook-up from him went hand-in-hand.
Clearly they weren’t too close, as he reportedly high-tailed it out of there — leaving Demi’s staff to discover that she had overdosed.
While we’re noting things about Johnson, the dude has been arrested a couple of times this year over possession of drugs, including cocaine.
He also had a fully loaded semi-automatic firearm without a permit, which those who favor an end to drug prohibition might say is worse.
Police have not yet charged Johnson for any specific crimes over his arrest in March.
But that does not mean that he is off the hook forever.
And it is always possible that the attention garnered by Demi’s overdose could mean that prosecutors aim to make an example of Johnson.
Demi, of course, is in rehab on the East Coast. She is said to have limited contact even with her close friends.
She is going to remain in rehab for as long as it takes.
For some people, an addiction is a lifestyle habit that they want to adjust. For others like Demi, a relapse isn’t embarrassing — it’s potentially lethal.
We are so glad that Demi survived and we hope that she makes a full recovery soon — but we’re glad that she’s taking her time in rehab.
We hope that no other creeps slither into her life.

Demi Lovato"s Drug Dealer Actually Speaks on Near-Fatal Overdose
The man who allegedly sold Demi Lovato the drugs that nearly ended her life has actually stopped on the sidewalk and given an interview.
And he’s talked rather openly about the entire situation as well.
Over the past week or so, reports have identified Brandon Johnson as the dealer with whom Lovato had supposedly worked since April.
The two had developement a pretty close relationship that some outlets even claimed cross over from professional… to plutonic… to sexual.
Jacobs had just recently gotten arrested prior to meeting Demi — and has been under fire (even more fire than comes the way of most drug dealers, that is) because there’s a rumor floating around that Lovato took tainted drugs.
This is to say, Demi may have been unaware that the substance she was given had been laced with fentanyl.
Was this the case, TMZ asked Johnson when the website grabbed a few moments with him over the weekend?
The artist “100% she knew what she was taking,” Johnson tells TMZ, adding:
“I disclosed to her that these were not pharmaceutical. There were after market drugs, they were much stronger. She understood fully.”
Johnson would very obviously be an example of the kind of toxic acquiantance that Demi let into her life since she fell off the wagon this past spring.
He says the two had a “flirty friendship” that did, at times, becomes a “sexual” relationship and that they occasionally “messed around.”
Why did she text him at 4 a.m. the night of July 23, after going out with some friends to celebrate a birthday and then going back to her home with a select few of them?
“Cause she’s a girl and she wanted to kick it,” he said.
What did he and Lovato during at this late hour?
“We hung out. We watched our detective shows as usual… she sometimes has such long days, stressful hours and a stressful job” and she needs to relax.
Johnson admitted that he and Demi also took drugs together, but he didn’t get into any specifics and he claimed to not even have known what the drugs were mixed with.
Moreover, Lovato was a “little drunk” when he showed up, this shady individual confirms, but he tucked her in and left around 7 a.m. or 8 a.m. after she appears to be safely in bed, asleep.
“I’m not here to hurt anybody. I care for her very much,” the drug dealer told TMZ, concluding:
“I care for her a lot. I hope she comes through this better than she was before she got into it.”
Last we heard, Lovato was doing pretty well in rehab.
She is at an undisclosed location and she will remain there for an extensive period of time; the rest of the year, at minimum, according to various insiders.
When she gets out, she’d be wise to continue therapy in some fashion; to rely on her family members and long-term friends; and to never contact anyone such as Johnson ever again.
Hang in there, Demi. We’re thinking of you.

Demi Lovato Overdose: Did the Singer Take Dirty Drugs?
With Demi Lovato having checked in to rehab, hopefully focused on turning her life around, we have a couple updates on the troubled singer.
First, a new report claims to have information on what caused Lovato to overdose back on Tuesday, July 24.
According to TMZ insiders, Lovato did indeed spent most of the previous evening out and about with friends.
As detailed shortly after this frightening incident took place, Demi hit up a club in Hollywood to celebrate a pal’s birthday and then continued the celebration with a smaller group of acquaintances at her home.
(These were allegedly the toxic influences that Lovato has since vowed to eliminate from her life.)
Following her night out at Saddle Ranch on the Sunset Strip, and after she returned to her residence with these friends, the aforementioned TMZ article states that Lovato sent a text message to a drug dealer at 4 a.m.
The drug dealer received the text and responded, arriving at Demi’s home with two freebased Oxycodone on tin foil.
But that’s not all.
This new and scary report goes deep.
These sources say, unbeknownst to the singer, the drug dealer in question had a dangerous habit of buying dirty drugs from Mexico — and the batch he handed over appeared to be laced with fentanyl.
This is the same drug that killed Prince and Lil Peep.
Ummm… yikes, right?
Original reports after Demi’s overdose alleged that the star overdosed on heroin, but most of these were later corrected via follow-up posts and quotes.
TMZ even writes that the drug dealer remained at Lovato’s home until he noticed she was breathing heavily in bed, at which point he fled the scene.
Eventually, Demi’s assistant found the singer unconscious and called 911.
It’s more or less been confirmed at this point that paramedics administed Narcan to Demi, a drug used to combat the dangerous of an overdose.
This may have been what saved Lovato’s life, as she regained consciousness and was then rushed to the hospital.
Lovato spent about two weeks under doctors’ supervision and then jetted off to an out-of-state treatment facility last week.
She has understandably canceled all tour dates for the remainder of 2018 and there’s a very good chance we don’t hear from her, or even about her from anyone named on record, for a long time.
“She will be in rehab for several months and is doing an extensive program to ensure she gets the help she needs,” a source tells E! News.
The 25-year-old, though, is currently in Chicago, where she’s undergoing treatment with a therapist who focuses on sobriety, mental health and wellness.
Demi has made it clear over the years, in numerous interviews, that she faces all of these problems and more.
She has struggled with substance abuse, an eating disorder and general self-esteem issues.
Lovato has not been in much contact with anyone close to her, although ex-boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama has checked in whenever possible.
“Wilmer has been in touch with the family and has been checking in on Demi’s status,” writes E! News, adding that the actor hasn’t really spoken to Lovato directly:
“The family is trying to make sure they eliminate all distractions and want her to be focusing on her health right now.”
We continue to keep Lovato in our thoughts.

Demi Lovato Releases First Statement Since Near-Fatal Overdose
Demi Lovato has spoken out for the first time since nearly dying of a drug overdose just under two weeks ago.
In a statement released to the public, the beloved and troubled singer addressed this frightening incident… her road to recovery… and those who have been responsible for her well-being over the past several days.
Scroll down to see what Lovato had to say…
Via Instagram, this is how Demi opened her heartfelt message to fans and supporters:
I have always been transparent about my journey with addiction. What I’ve learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time.
It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet.
Lovato, as you likely know by now, was found unconscious inside her Los Angeles bedroom on Tuesday morning, July 31.
Initial reports indicated that Lovato has overdosed on heroin, but follow-up articles made it clear that the substance Lovato ingested or injected remains unknown.
The same can be said for Lovato’s status.
We know she’s alive. We know she nearly died. And we believe she has agreed to attend some sort of rehab for the third time over the past few years.
Continues Lovato in her statement:
I want to thank God for keeping me alive and well. To my fans, I am forever grateful for all of your love and support throughout this past week and beyond.
Your positive thoughts and prayers have helped me navigate through this difficult time.
Lovato has been hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai in California for well over a week now.
In her message, the artist acknowledges that she came very close to dying.
And that she likely would have passed away if not for those around her (an assistant called 911) and the medical professionals who took over from there.
Writes the singer:
I want to thank my family, my team, and the staff at Cedars-Sinai who have been by my side this entire time.
Without them I wouldn’t be here writing this letter to all of you.
It’s hopefully a positive sign that Lovato recognizes this fact.
If she understands how close she came to accidentally killing herself, perhaps she will take the steps needed to attempt to get better once and for all.
Without revealing her plans for the future, this is how Lovato concluded her post:
I now need time to heal and focus on my sobriety and road to recovery. The love you have all shown me will never be forgotten and I look forward to the day where I can say I came out on the other side.
I will keep fighting.
We can’t say for certain when we’ll next hear from Lovato, but that isn’t important right now of course.
She needs to take as much time as she needs to heal, mentally and physically, and it will likely serve her best to do so far away from the spotlight.
We just hope she knows how much her fans love her as she takes the time she needs to arrive in a healthier place.

Paris Jackson: Headed to Rehab After Demi Lovato Overdose?!
Last week, Demi Lovato was hospitalized after an overdose. This came just weeks after she admitted to relapsing after six years of sobriety.
This was reportedly a huge wake-up call to Paris Jackson, whose behavior has apparently been a source of concern for those who love her.
Is Paris planning on checking into rehab before something like this happens to her?
According to RadarOnline’s report, Demi’s overdose shocked Paris Jackson into questioning her habits.
“Demi almost died,” a source tells RadarOnline. “And that was a big trigger for Paris to get healthy.”
Paris is very much into natural, healthy eating, but this insider alleges that she may have a lingering problem with certain substances.
“She was concerned about Demi” after Demi admitted to relapsing after having remained sober for so long, the insider says.
Paris was worried then, the source describes, “and in shock when she heard the news” that Demi was in the hospital.
Paris was troubled as a teenager — which is more than understandable after having lost her father at the tender age of 11.
She was hospitalized after a suicide attempt in her early teens, and had to enter rehab just a couple of years later.
According to the source, Paris sees Demi’s incident as a reminder of what could happen to her.
“She feels her problem could get bigger,” the insider claims.
Paris reportedly worries that her issues could worsen “if not dealt with appropriately.”
Just a month ago, Paris was mourning the death of her grandfather.
“Paris has refused to talk to her family,” in the aftermath of his passing, the source claims.
“She was embarrassed and saddened,” the insider reports. “That more wasn’t done for her grandfather when he died.”
She was with him towards the end, holding his hand in the hospital bed.
The source says that Paris’ frustration with her family mounted “and she had enough.”
One report claims that Paris appeared to be both high on marijuana and perhaps even intoxicated when she picked up some items from a Calabasas compound.
“She was stumbling a bit and clearly high or drunk,” the insider claimed.
That could be worrisome, if true. Though as those who have lost family members can tell you, not uncommon in the weeks following a sudden family death.
Different people cope in different ways.
Apparently Paris’ family fears that “her friends aren’t good for her and they take advantage of her.”
“At the end of the day,” the source predicts, “Paris will have a breakdown and it won’t be good for anyone unless she goes back to rehab.”
Honestly? It sounds like a lot of this is speculation, or perhaps an attempt to urge her to seek help.
If the report that Paris is planning ot enter rehab is true, it doesn’t look like she’s there yet — or, if she is, it’s one of those very rare rehabs that allows you to remain active on social media.
As of Tuesday morning, Paris is still active on Twitter.
Truth be told, it’s easy to confuse someone coping with a family tragedy for a few weeks with someone with a serious substance abuse problem.
We sincerely hope that Paris is doing just fine.
