Lena Dunham Reveals Battle With Drug Addiction

Lena Dunham has been a divisive figure for the majority of her career, but this week, the Girls creator revealed that she shares something in common with tens of millions of Americans from all walks of life and all regions of the country.


In an interview with actor Dax Shepard, Dunham revealed that she has struggled with prescription pill addiction for several years.



“I was having crazy anxiety and having to show up for things that I didn’t feel equipped to show up for … but I know I need to do it, and when I take a Klonopin, I can do it,” Dunham said on the latest episode of Shepard’s podcast.


“I didn’t have any trouble getting a doctor to tell me, ‘No, you’ve got serious anxiety issues, you should be taking this. This is how you should be existing,’” Dunham continued.


“It stopped being, ‘I take one when I fly,’ and it started being like, ‘I take one when I’m awake.’”



Dunham attributes her acute anxiety to trauma stemming from sexual assault and health issues:


“I was diagnosed with pretty serious PTSD,” Lena said.


“I have a few sexual traumas in my past and then I had all these surgeries and then I had my hysterectomy after a period of really extreme pain … It stopped feeling like I had panic attacks and it started feeling like I was a living panic attack.”



These days, it often seems that public figures only open up about substance abuse issues when they’re forced to following some sort of PR disaster, so we commend Lena for opening up of her own volition.


Earlier this week, it was revealed that Dunham will be penning a screenplay for a J.J. Abrams-Steven Spielberg film about a family of Syrian refugees.


On social media, many were critical of the decision to hire Dunham for such a project, arguing that there’s no way someone in her position can relate to the plight of Syrians driven from their homeland by war.



But perhaps Abrams, Spielberg, and company knew what the rest of us did not — that Dunham is a survivor of a different variety, and with sufficient compassion, she may be able to channel her painful past in a creatively productive way.


Only time will tell, of course.


But for now, we applaud Dunham for being candid about such a topic that affects so many, yet is so rarely addressed.

Lena Dunham Accused of Sending Unsolicited Vadge Pics to Jack Antonoff

It’s been a while since Lena Dunham has done anything to warrant the attention of us slavering hellhounds in the gossip-sphere.


It could have to do with the fact that she’s adopted a more low-key lifestyle these days and turned her attention to, in her words, “pursuing slow meaningful spiritual progress.”




Of course, it’s equally possible that we all simultaneously decided to stop regularly checking her social media accounts for any number of valid reasons.


(Public interest in her personal life has been on the decline ever since Girls ended; she seems to google herself constantly despite being cursed with very thin skin; Lena-related gossip frequently centers around “hard pass” subject matter like vaginas crammed full of pebbles, etc.)


Whatever the case, there’s less Lena in your life these days, and we don’t need a focus group to know that you’re probably okay with that.



But the never-reliable Star magazine decided to dip its toe back in the Lena pond this week, and despite the high probability that this story is total BS (again, Star magazine) we decided it’s amusing enough to share with you.


As you may recall, back in January, Lena and Jack Antonoff broke up after six years of dating.


By all accounts, the split was mutual and amicable, but it seems Lena misses more about the relationship than just quipping “I hope you bought Anton a drink first!” every time someone said her boyfriend’s full name.


An “insider” tells Star that Lena is still hung up on Jack in a big way, and her obsession is beginning to take a toll on his new relationship.



“She calls Jack at least five times a day, all in the name of ‘friendship’ – and she always talks to him right before she goes to bed,” says the anonymous friend.


“She’ll text him photos of her private parts at like 1 a.m. At that point, he just turns the phone off.”


Not surprisingly, the source also claims that Jack’s new girlfriend, Carlotta Kohl, is less than thrilled with the situation.


“Half the time she spent with him, he was on the phone with his ex!” says the tipster of a recent date between Jack and Carlotta.



We figure September is a good time to get around to our New Year’s resolution of trying something new every day, so we’re actually gonna defend Lena instead of making a bunch of easy jokes at her expense.


Here goes nothing:


Lena Dunham is probably not sending unsolicited vadge pics to her ex-boyfriend, and the only way this source could sound more made-up is if it called the situation “steamy,” or used some other word that’s only ever been used by tabloid writers.


Now if you’ll excuse us, this small act of decency has made us feel all out of sorts.


We’re gonna go kick a puppy or vote Republican or something to balance ourselves out.

Lena Dunham Reveals She Had a Hysterectomy in Heartbreaking Essay

A lot of people don’t really care for Lena Dunham, and they don’t care for her for a number of reasons.


Those reasons are all very valid, but one admirable thing about Lena is that she’s always been ready and willing to talk about her endometriosis.



Endometriosis is no joke — it can cause debilitating pain and it affects millions of women — but it’s still pretty misunderstood, and there’s not as much research happening on it as there should be.


Women who have the disease are often brushed off by being told that they’re simply being dramatic about their periods when really it’s so much more than that.


As Lena revealed in an essay she just wrote for Vogue, it can actually change your entire life.


If you’re serious about your celebrity gossip, there’s a good chance that you’ve heard about Lena’s endometriosis before.


She’s had multiple surgeries to try to combat the symptoms — which for her have mostly seem to be lots and lots of pain — and last spring, she had to leave the Met Gala to be hospitalized for complications.



In this new essay, she explains that a few months ago, she had yet another surgery: a hysterectomy.


“In August, the pain becomes unbearable,” she writes. “I am delirious with it, and the doctors can’t really explain. The ultrasound shows no cysts, no free fluid, and certainly no baby.”


She says that from then until November she tried to “manage this new level of pain,” and that she tried several different kinds of therapy, as well as acupuncture and yoga, to try to find some relief.


“Finally I ask my doctor if my uterus needs to come out,” she recalls. “She says, ‘Let’s wait and see."”


After two days of waiting and seeing, Lena says that she checked herself into a hospital and told doctors that she either wanted a hysterectomy or a solution to her pain.



As you could imagine, it took a while for her to convince the hospital staff that she actually did want her uterus removed, and that she understood everything that entailed.


She even wrote an essay on the topic for the doctors, in which she at one point referred to herself as “someone who hurts too much to express themselves, who can’t help but be a nuisance at best and a terror at worst.”


After having her therapist write her doctors a letter, and after having a few sessions with a therapist selected by her doctors, she underwent a different surgical procedure — and when that didn’t work, she says that her request for a hysterectomy was finally taken seriously.


After the surgery was completed, she writes “I wake up surrounded by family and doctors eager to tell me I was right. My uterus is worse than anyone could have imagined. It’s the Chinatown Chanel purse of nightmares, full of both subtle and glaring flaws.”



“In addition to endometrial disease, an odd humplike protrusion, and a septum running down the middle, I have had retrograde bleeding, a.k.a. my period running in reverse, so that my stomach is full of blood.”


She also says that her ovary was positioned on nerves in her back, and “let’s please not even talk about my uterine lining.”


Now, a few months after her hysterectomy, she says that she’s healing nicely, though she does have a bit of a limp.


“My mind, my spirit, are another story,” she says. “Because I had to work so hard to have my pain acknowledged, there was no time to feel fear or grief. To say goodbye.”


Because of course to make the choice to have a hysterectomy was to make the choice never experience pregnancy and childbirth — something she says she’s wanted her entire life.



Instead, Lena plans on “exploring whether my ovaries, which remain someplace inside me in that vast cavern of organs and scar tissue, have eggs,” and she also says that “adoption is a thrilling truth I’ll pursue with all my might.”


“But I wanted that stomach,” she admits. “I wanted to know what nine months of complete togetherness could feel like. I was meant for the job, but I didn’t pass the interview.”


“And that’s OK. It really is. I might not believe it now, but I will soon enough. And all that will be left is my story and my scars, which are already faded enough that they’re hard to find.”


The whole essay is a tough read, and it’s hard to imagine how Lena must be feeling about all this.


Whether you love her or hate her, she definitely deserves respect for putting herself out there like she did.

Lena Dunham and Jack Antonoff: Wow! It"s Over!

One of Hollywood’s most stable and adorable couples is no more.


In very surprising news, Lena Dunham and Jack Antonoff have decided to go their separate ways.



The actress/writer/producer and the singer/songwriter actually broke up in December, according to E! News insiders, following five long years of dating.


“It was mutual,” this outlet’s main source says, adding simply:


“Jack and Lena were growing apart and it just made sense for them to end their relationship where it was.”


This seems pretty hard to believe, of course.


We’re not saying there was any cheating or anything especially ugly took place between the stars.


We’re just saying break-ups are rarely truly mutual, especially not for the vague reason of just “growing apart.”



The Girls creator and the Bleachers frontman met on a blind date set up by Antonoff’s sister and comedian Mike Birbiglia back in 2012.


This blind date went so well, the musician quickly told Dunham everything about himself, “because when you really like someone, you want them to know everything about you,” Antonoff explained in 2014.


Not long afterward, Antonoff moved in to Dunham’s home in Brooklyn.


While each has referenced the other at various point in the past few months, the last time they attended a public event together was nearly a year ago; at a pre-Grammys party in early 2017.


In October, though, the actress wrote an essay about her now-ex-beau for Variety.


It partly read:


“It’s safe to say that before Jack my life was full of far fewer sights. He showed me the importance of making political statements using your public platform. He showed me the joy of collaboration.”


Despite this clear connection, though, Dunham always made it clear she never saw herself marrying Antonoff.



Perhaps that should have been a sign right there that the very long-term future was bleak, although Lena did often say the two would exchange vows once gay marriage was made legal in the United States.


But then this happened in 2015.


And still… no ring.


Speaking with People Magazine last June, the artist said his life at home with Dunham is “pretty normal in terms of everyday life.”


He went on to describe their romance as two people “trying to support each other [and] trying to find something new and exciting for dinner.”



So… where did things go wrong?


We don’t know. All websites that have reported on this break-up agree the split was amicable and that the stars will keep in touch.


“They want the best for each other no matter what. They are both moving on,” the E! News source concludes.


We’re glad to hear it.


While it’s far more fun for a celebrity gossip website to write about some seedy reason for a relationship ending, it’s far more encouraging from a human being standpoint to know people can break up and not hate each other.

Lena Headey: Game of Thrones Star Shares Scary Harvey Weinstein Encounter!

Lena Headey says that, at the end, Harvey Weinstein paid for her car and admonished her: “Don’t tell anyone!”


She describes how she sat down and cried.


In the wake of allegations that Harvey Weinstein raped and harassed women in Hollywood for decades, the Game of Thrones star is sharing the story of her own harrowing encounters with him.



In a series of tweets, Lena Headey shared her first, less frightening, encounter.


“The first time I met Harvey Weinstein was at the Venice Film Festival.”


What is it with Harvey Weinstein and film festivals? Actually, let’s not blame the film festival — it sounds like this is just part of who he is, wherever he goes.


The Brothers Grimm was showing there, (during shooting I was subjected to endless bullying by director Terry Gilliam)”


It’s not really a surprise that a guy who directed a film that features a scene where a kitten is kicked into a mechanism that grinds it up isn’t the most pleasant person. (Seriously, who puts that in a movie?!)


“At one point Harvey asked me to take a walk down to the water, I walked with him and he made some suggestive comment, a gesture; I just laughed it off.”


Too many women are forced to laugh off comments like that in professional settings.


“I was genuinely shocked, I remember thinking, it’s got to be a joke, I said something like.. oh come on mate?!?? It’d be like kissing my dad!!”


We’re sure that he loved hearing that.


“Let’s go get a drink, get back to the others. I was never in any other Miramax film.”


Even a polite refusal can apparently have very real consequences.



Unfortunately, the second time — when she thought that she was safe after having rebuffed him — turned out to be much more frightening.


“The next time was in L.A. Years later. I had always carried the thought that he’d never try anything again, not after I’d laughed and said never in a million years. I believed that he respected my boundary and maybe he wanted to talk about potential work.”


We can totally see how that encounter, which sounded like more run-of-the-mill inappropriateness than a dangerous situation, could have given her a sense of security.

“He asked me to meet for breakfast. We ate breakfast, we talked about films, film making. He asked me a few questions about the state of my love life. I shifted the conversation back to something less personal.”


That coming up in a conversation can be a red flag, but a minor one.


“Then he went to the loo. He came back and said, let’s go up to the room, I want to give you a script.”


As you can imagine, this exchange — which should be perfectly innocuous — is where things take a turn for the worse. And Lena knew it.


“We walked to the lift and the energy shifted, my whole body went into high alert.”


You don’t always know when you’re in danger, but if you get a sensation of peril like that, you should almost always trust it.


“The lift was going up and I said to Harvey, I’m not interested in anything other than work, please don’t think I got in here with you for any other reason, nothing is going to happen I said.”


If you’re having a colleague tell you this, you’ve probably done something wrong — even if you don’t have any inappropriate intentions.


“I don’t know what possessed me to speak out at that moment, only that I had such a strong sense of don’t come near me.”


Now is where this gets very scary.



“He was silent after I spoke, furious.”


That’s not good at all. Plenty of sexual predators would have tried to diffuse the tension by saying “oh gosh, of course.” Which is also what a regular, non-evil person would have said.


“We got out of the lift and his hand was on my back, he was marching me forward, not a word, I felt completely powerless.”


If you’re wondering why she didn’t just scream, try to imagine that there’s no guarantee that anyone would investigate or even hear, and the terror of violent reprisal can keep a lot of women silent.


And then she was very, very fortunate.


“He tried his keycard and it didn’t work, then he got really angry.”


This time, at least, his anger didn’t seem directed at Lena.



“He walked me back to the lift, through the hotel to the valet, by grabbing and holding tightly to the back of my arm, he paid for my car and whispered in my ear.”


This is scary:


“Don’t tell anyone about this, not your manager, not your agent.”


The after effects of a situation like that can include a dramatic emotional release.


“I got into my car and cried.”


She escaped, but … that encounter can leave you traumatized for life. And with good reason.


Part of us wonders if it was really luck that stopped the keycard from working, or if some truly wonderful hotel employee had realized what Weinstein allegedly intended and disabled his card.


We may never know.

Lenny Dykstra Attempts to Seduce Lena Dunham, Repulses Twitter

If you’re not a fan of baseball or tobacco-chewing ex-cons with tobacco chewing ex-con names, then you might not be familiar with Lenny Dykstra.


We won’t bore you with the details of Dykstra’s career on the field or the shady shenanigans that later landed him behind bars, but suffice it to say, he’s one of the sports world’s great dirtbags.


In fact, “Nails” is such a colossal douche wagon that he’s got us out here defending Lena Dunham.




In one of the most random encounters in the history of social media, Dykstra wound up sleazing up Lena’s timeline last night in an exchange that’ll leave you in desperate need of a bleach and Brillo pad bath.


It all started when Lena announced that ball players are the new Williamsburg urban farmers:


“I’m horny for baseball players! Wow!” Dunham tweeted without context.


In a feat of either horn-dog opportunism or a surprisingly amusing trolling, Dykstra encouraged Dunham to act on her impulse:


“DM me,” Dykstra tweeted to Lena, later adding video highlights from his career in order to help her “get the bloodflow going.”



When fans began to question Dykstra’s intentions, he confirmed that he was not actually interested in Dunham sexually, and is actually just bored, presumably having run out of Skoal.


“Oh, I’m just looking to tease her and break her heart,” Dykstra tweeted.


“You guys I’m being simultaneously trolled & seduced by @LennyDykstra this day has gotten really f–king weird,” Dunham remarked seemingly have no more idea about what the hell is happening here than we do.


It was then that Dykstra invited Dunham to ride on his – sigh – “space shuttle.”


“You know deep down you want to take a ride on the space shuttle,” Dykstra tweeted, presumably in reference to his penis.


“Do you just sit around asking your friends ‘what’s the least witty way I can revolt a woman?” Dunham fired back.



Dykstra responded that he can be “so much less witty” than proved his point by offering Lena the use of his baseball bat, before remarking that “Darryl Strawberry’s is bigger.”


Believe it or not, the two of them went on like this for over an hour.


In terms of WTF?! Lena Dunham scandals, this one is somewhat more shocking than Lena abandoning her dog.


But it’s far less baffling than Dunham’s comments about her sister, because just about everything on the planet is.

Lena Dunham Claps Back at Critics, Joins American Horror Story

Lena Dunham has taken a break from abandoning her dog in order to fire back at a handful of haters.


Without specifically referencing what she was responding to Dunham shared the following photo on Instagram last night…



… and wrote the following as a caption:


It’s only important to me that people know as they’re busy tweeting bullshit about me I’m most often dressed in a latex suit and crystal crown working from home on imagining new worlds.


Dunham concluded her message with the hashtag “blessedbitch.”


This is an interesting way to tell off critics.


The Girls creator is basically saying that you can yell and scream and insult her all you want on social media, but she’s just gonna go about her successful and creative life as you waste your time doing so.


The actress often comes under fire from those who don’t like her liberal viewpoint on life.


Or from those who don’t like how often she takes off her clothes.



But Dunham always tries to have the final laugh in these situations.


Last month, for example, Dunham posed naked to flaunt her weight loss, just a short while after explaining why she can never win when it comes to the Internet.


“It’s just so crazy because I spent six years of my career being called things like ‘bag of milk,’ ‘baby cow,’ ‘aging cow.’ I just never felt self-conscious about it,” Dunham told Ellen DeGeneres, adding:


“I was like, ‘Anyone who is going to take the time to say something negative about my weight on the internet isn’t someone I was particularly keen to impress anyway.’


“Then I had this experience of my body changing.


“Suddenly I got all these people saying, ‘You’re a hypocrite. I thought you were body positive. I thought you were a person who embraced body types of all sizes."”


In other words: when she’s overweight, she hears about it. And when she loses weight, she hears about it.


What’s a celebrity to do?



Change the conversation, perhaps.


In a surprising piece of casting news, Ryan Murphy confirmed on Wednesday that Dunham will join American Horror Story Season 7.


We don’t know what role she’ll take on just yet, but this will mark Dunham’s first season as a member of the drama, which typically features the same actors and actresses playing different characters every year.


Season 7 is expected to center on the 2016 Presidential Election in some capacity.

We hear she’ll only appear on one American Horror Story episode, but whatever. That’s better than zero!


The Season 7 cast already boasts returning favorites Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters, plus newcomers Billy Eichner (Difficult People), Billie Lourd (Scream Queens), Laura Allen (Awake), Leslie Grossman (Popular) and Colton Haynes (Teen Wolf).


We can’t wait.



In addition to writing Girls and starring in that HBO comedy, Dunham has guest-starred on Scandal and The Simpsons in recent years.

Lena Dunham"s Dog-Trainer Defends Her Against Accusations of Lying, Abandoning Dog

Lena Dunham has been accused of craving negative attention and going out of her way to fish for it. If that really is the case, she’s getting her wish.


Remember how Lena Dunham may have abandoned her dog Lamby and lied about the reason, stirring up all sorts of ire from dog-lovers and decent human beings everywhere?


Well, she has at least one person defending her decision. Bear with us, but … there’s a chance that Lena did the right thing here. 



So, as you may recall, months after rehoming her dog, Lamby, Lena Dunham announced that she’d done it.


It’s hard to imagine rehoming a pet, because they’re part of your family.


Like, you don’t give up your kid for adoption when they’re 8.


(Not voluntarily, anyway)


But Lena gave a reason.


She claimed that Lamby had serious aggressive behavior.


Many adopted dogs don’t come from great backgrounds, so behavior can be an issue.


But Lena says that even after having Lamby for so long, the problem behaviors — which included biting — hadn’t gone away.


“Lamby suffered terrible abuse as a pup that made having him in a typical home environment dangerous to him and others — we needed to be responsible to ourselves, our neighbors, and especially our beloved boy.”


The thing is that the shelter from which Lena adopted Lamby said that Lamby wasn’t “crazy,” and also that he was put up for adoption because the previous owner “didn’t have enough time” for him.


That doesn’t preclude a history of being abused, but it doesn’t quite match her claims either, you know?



Matt Beisner, owner of the Zen Dog, is a dog-trainer whose help Lena sought.


And Lena Dunham’s dog-trainer is backing up her story.


Beisner described Lamby as “really aggressive” and not wanting to be touched.


“He didn’t want to be touched and he didn’t want to be handled.”


That part’s not so unusual for unfriendly dogs dealing with strangers, but it gets weirder.


“When he came to us, there were days where we had to carry his crate out to the yard and open it to let him come out because we couldn’t safely put our hands near him to get a leash on him to walk him.”


That’s unusual.


(Like, I was a dog-walker for some rescue dogs who had for sure had horrible backgrounds in a previous home, and that’s unusual)


Beisner was even able to specifically address the shelter’s claims that Lamby wasn’t “crazy.”


“The dog that we see in the shelter is often not the dog that we see in the home.”


That makes sense, of course.


Being in a shelter must be terrifying.


Being in a new home is strange and full of uncertainty, but that fear usually goes away with time.


“And often the dog in the home on day one is different than the dog that we see at the six-month mark.”


Unfortunately, that’s true.


Sometimes “getting comfortable” in a new environment means trying to exert dominance or whatever caused Lamby’s biting behavior.



Lena Dunham might actually be on the up-and-up with this one.


We’re not saying that we’d take Beisner’s word for it completely.


He is, after all, someone whom Lena once paid.


It’s no leap to suggest that he might have extra motives to remain in her good graces (plus he’s getting publicity).


But it’s hard to see him going to People and lying.


He has a professional reputation to maintain.


So, while maybe he might avoid blaming Lena for not being sufficiently accommodating or not coming to him earlier or whatever … if he says that Lamby was extraordinarily aggressive in a way that wasn’t going to be fixed living with Lena, we believe it.



If Lamby really is in such a great place now, maybe it’s for the best.


Some dogs need specialized environments and we guess that Lena was able to get him that.


We hope that this doesn’t discourage other people from adopting dogs.


Because dogs are wonderful.


And dogs in shelters don’t deserve to have to stay there when they could have loving homes and join someone’s family.


Sure, some might come with baggage — some don’t like men, for example.


(There are plenty of humans with that same baggage and it comes from experience in both cases)


But most of them adapt to their new homes and learn to trust their new humans.


It’s just that Lamby and Lena Dunham clearly weren’t meant to be.


Maybe now we can go back to worrying about Lena’s next huge tattoos or whatever else she does when she wants more attention.

Lena Dunham: Accused of Abandoning Dog, Lying About Reason Why

Another week, another random Lena Dunham-related controversy.


At this point, you Lena drama is as predictable as the tides, and it always seems that just as she’s putting one mini-scandal behind her, another rushes in.



Part of this is the Internet’s fault, as social media users routinely lose their minds over molehill-caliber stuff like not liking Lena’s latest tattoos.


But, of course, a big part of it is Lena’s fault, as she routinely courts controversy by saying and doing problematic sh-t, and then turning around and seeking sympathy from the ultra-PC recreational outrage crowd whenever it suits her.


It’ been going on for years, and lena is certainly not the first born-rich celebrity who can’t comprehend that the public will occasionally voice displeasure with her, and sometimes it’s best to just shrug it off, rather than making things worse with a lame explanation.


Particularly when that explanation contains statements that are easily exposed as lies, and may lead to a press investigation that will expose myriad other lies.



This one had to do with Lena’s former dog, Lamby.


We say former dog not because Lamby has died … though she’s hopefully gone to a better place.


You see, after four years of ownership and despite an income that allows for ample dog walkers, god psychologists, dog accupuncturists, and dog yoga instructors, Lena decided Lamby had become too much of a burden and gave Lamby away.


She explained the decision in a lengthy Instagram post in which she basically pinned the blame for her dog’s “aggressive behavior on previous, abusive owners that don’t exist … and the staff at one of the most highly-regarded anumal shelters in the country.


“After four years of challenging behavior and aggression that could not be treated with training or medication or consistent loving dog ownership, Lamby went to live at an amazing professional facility in Los Angeles,” Dunham wrote.


“Lamby suffered terrible abuse as a pup that made having him in a typical home environment dangerous to him and others- we needed to be responsible to ourselves, our neighbors and especially our beloved boy.”



Some have offered kudos to Lena for finding a professional facility to care for Lamby, instead of just returning him to the shelter, but she adopted from a no-kill shelter and promised to return the dog and not re-home it.


But even if you’re under the mistaken impression that Lena deserves praise for finding Lamby a new home, just about everything else that she wrote is suspect at best, slanderous at worst.


This is far from the first time that Dunham’s fitness to own a dog has been questioned, but this time the main source of controversy isn’t her lack of training ability but the fact that Lena appears to have flat-oit lied about Lamby’s history of abuse.


Not surprisingly, the shelter responded with a statement clarifiying that Lamby was not abused, did not have three additional owners, and had no history of aggressive behavior.


“We checked the records for Lamby,” said spokesman Robert Vazquez.


“He was ‘owner surrendered, not enough time,’ so we do not know where she got ‘multiple owners that abused the dog.’”



Vazquez continued:


“When she adopted the dog from us, it wasn’t crazy,” Vazquez continued.


“I have pictures of the dog loving on Lena and her mom, which is weird if the dog was abused. It wouldn’t be cuddling with her or be in the bed with her ‘boyfriend’ in the pages of Vogue.”


He also points out that Lamby frequently accompanied Lena at work and on film and talk show sets.


The Vogue comment refers to a 2013 issue of  the magazine, in which Lena can be seen lying in bed with Lamby. (Look at that adorable little psycho!)



In the same article accompanying the incriminating photo Lena made the apocryphal claim that Lamby had been passed around amongst multiple abusive owners:


Dunham claimed the dog had had “three other homes, three other names, but now he’s mine mine mine.”


Again, this appears to be a lie.


Naturally, Dunham took to Instagram to furhter explain the mess … and dug herself a deeper hole:


“It’s come to my attention that the staff at the shelter where I adopted Lamby have a very different account of his early life and behavioral issues than I do,” she wrote.


While I’m sorry to have disappointed them … I would never say an unkind word about the staff of BARC, what they do is amazing and life saving for these animals- but we have different accounts of Lamby’s behavior and they were not present in my home nor did they live with him for an extended period.”



In case you can’t stomach another long-winded excuse for sh-tty behavior, Lena basically said, “I’m not calling the shelter staff liars … but yeah, they’re totes lying.”


Proving that there’s no situation she can’t make worse, Dunham has since bought – not adopted – two young poodles.


We guess after spending so much time on set with his daughter, she decided to attend the Brian Williams School of Scandal Management.

Lena Dunham Shows Off Two HUGE New Tattoos, Explains Why!

Lena Dunham is such a divisive celebrity, and with good reason.


But based on the story that she shared on Snapchat, we’re starting to get concerned. She’s showing off some tattoos and some classic Lena Dunham near-nudity, but her statements accompanying the photos have us genuinely worried.



Lena Dunham has tattoos already, and to be clear, it’s totally up to her how she decorates her meat prison.


While tattoos run the risk of making a mess —


(And we’ve all watched helplessly as Justin Bieber turned his first-rate heartthrob body into a tacky mess, which is totally his right, but it doesn’t look good)


— they’re also a huge part of self-expression and can hold personal and religious significance.


And sometimes tattoos can look really cool.


But Lena’s shared this Snapchat story and it’s the text that has us worried about her mental health.



“Been tatting myself up like crazy this month,” the first one reads.


That’s not super alarming.


Well, it suggests poor impulse-control, but Lena didn’t get to where she is in life by being reserved and cautious.


For better or for worse.


She’s debuting these two new pieces of ink, and they’re not really the images that we’d advise that someone get stabbed into their skin.


But, you know, that’s a difference of taste.



This one, of two Kewpie dolls dipping into a barrel, is pretty harmless.


Kind of creepy, if only because all dolls are creepy, but whatever.


Lena Dunham also gave Snapchat followers an eyefull of her blooming rose.


And that’s not a euphemism.


We’re talking about a tattoo of a literal blooming rose.


Though it is, you know, below her waist and all that.



“I think it gives me a sense of control and ownership of a body that’s often beyond my control,” she writes.


This is what has us concerned.


Now, Lena has endometriosis, which can be just the worst.


Remember Lena Dunham’s recent hospitalization? Yeah. That’s zero fun.


So it’s easy to understand how she might sometimes feel that she’s at war with her flesh prison.


But the reasoning that she gives for the tattoos, about them making her feel like she’s in control, is very familiar.


People who self-harm — whether it’s with cutting or bulimia or smoking — often cite that exact reason.


Control.


And it’s easy to see parallels between getting a tattoo and some of those activities.


Now, this seems way healthier than any of those other usual options that people pursue when they feel like they need control — in their lives or over their bodies or whatever.


And we’ll give her credit for understanding exactly what’s going on behind her decisions.


But is this the best coping mechanism or are there other, less permanent options?


We’d say that she should look into the underlying problem, but if she could just treat the endometriosis into going away, she would have by now.


She doesn’t seem to be advocating that others who feel as she does get tattoos.


But maybe her explanation will resonate with people who are fighting their own battles, and help them take a look at what they’re doing and why.


Just hopefully it won’t encourage anyone to get Kewtie dolls tattooed on their bodies. Dolls are for horror movies not for skin.

Lena Dunham Poses Completely Nude After Weight Loss!

Lena Dunham is not a shy person.


Not even a little bit. Not even at all.



She’s been naked numerous times on her HBO show, Girls, and she’s always been exceedingly open and honest about her body.


She suffers from endometriosis, and she’s spoken extensively about her many hospitalizations and surgeries — she’s even shared photos of her scars from those surgeries.


Lena’s also discussed her recent weight loss at length, which she’s claimed is, in part, thanks to the “soul-crushing pain and devastation and hopelessness” that came when Trump was elected president.


All this is to say that this woman is extremely open about everything — every last little thing.


So it makes sense that she’d take a nude selfie and throw it up on Instagram.



In the photo, her weight loss is really visible. She looks great, right?


And in the caption she added along with the photo, she shared some typical Lena Dunham words of wisdom.


“I spent so many years loving my body but thinking it wasn’t lovable by others,” she confessed. “It’s sole purpose was to be fodder for jokes.”


“I performed the insult so no one else could.”


“I don’t regret any of it,” she went on, “that’s my art and that was my truth.”



She wrote that now, “having been through hell and back with my health and other people’s perceptions of my physicality,” she feels much more at ease with her body.


Or, as she said, “I feel deeply comfortable with the idea that this pear-shaped pot of honey is equally good for making people laugh and laying out like a Suicide Girl circa 2004.”


“Love it all,” she finished.


And it looks like Lena isn’t alone in loving it all, either.



“Thanks Lena for being so inspiring,” one of her followers wrote, “and for helping me and all the girls out there to be, day by day, more confident and positive about our bodies.”


Another person told her “Your body and your mind are beautiful, the both of them. Keep writing intelligent, witty and socially critical pieces. You are a true inspiration.”


“Glad you’re loving the skin you’re in,” yet another wrote. “You’re giving women permission to do the same and make friends with their own bodies.”


Sure, there were plenty of inappropriate responses — things about “dipping fingers in the honey pot” and general criticism of her body.



But Lena loves herself and the way she looks, and it seems like most other people do, too.


And isn’t that just so special?
