Jeremy Roloff Gets Daddy-Shamed for the Dumbest Reason Ever
Move over, mommy-shaming and fat-shaming.
It’s time to make room for very awful daddy-shaming.
Isn’t that right, Jeremy Roloff
The former Little People, Big World star was on the receiving end of some ridiculous backlash this week after he shared what appears to be a simple and harmless photo of himself and his one-year old daughter, Ember.
The picture was snapped in Nashville and captioned as follows:
Spent a few days in Nashville and now we’re in Franklin, TN. Such a lovely town.
Although it reminds me of Bend – almost too popular to enjoy now! But still, a beautiful town and we always enjoy our time down here.
The people are great and the hospitality is noticed! P.S. If we took a photo with you at some point – tag us so we can see it!
The image itself, meanwhile, simply features Jeremy tossing his infant up in the air:
WHEEEE, right?
Apparently not.
More like, WTH, according to some misguided and cruel trolls.
“Idiot. She’s not a circus act,” one person actually wrote in the comments, while another chimed in with;
Wow. Be careful throwing your kid like that.”
A third person warned the ex-TLC personality about shaken baby syndrome, while a fourth suggested that this move is harmful to “little brains.”
We have no idea what to even say here.
Nearly every parent alive has thrown his or her into the air in this sort of manner.
The kid is never more than, like a foot above the parent’s hands outstretched hands and always falls very easily and comfortably back into place.
(We can’t believe we actually need to spell this out for some people.)
Thankfully, a number of social media users leaped to Jeremy’s defense and called out his critics for being, well… complete morons.
“Accidents can happen doing anything,” explained one individual “Can’t stop living life because ur scared to actually have fun. Most babies like being tossed in the air, so take a seat.”
For the record, Ember is doing just fine.
Jeremy shared plenty of other photos from this same trip, as he and his daughter and wife enjoyed their time visiting Tennessee.
Speaking of that wife, Audrey Roloff can relate to what her husband is now going through.
She’s heard it from followers in the past for the kind of outfits in which she placed Ember and even for the kind of outfit she once wore to the doctor’s office.
We’re not kidding. This actually happened.
Overall, Jeremy and Audrey frequently post pictures of themselves and their child.
They gush over her every chance they get.
They come across as caring and as loving as two parents can possibly be.
Jeremy has not yet responded to this dumb criticism and we hope he never does.
Just enjoy every second you have with that 13-month old bundle of joy, man. She’s precious.

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton: The REAL Reason They Won"t Get Married!
Since the two started dating back in 2015 in a whirlwind romance that no one saw coming, marriage rumors have followed Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton.
Recently we reported on a rumor that the two had secretly married more than six months ago. But their ring fingers remain bare.
Now, Blake himself is opening up about the real reason for which he and Gwen aren’t married yet.
On NBC’s Sunday TODAY with Willie Geist, Blake Shelton opened up about why he and Gwen keep putting off marriage.
“I think if Gwen and I were being honest right now, talking about this,” Blake began.
You always know that a celebrity’s going to say something interest if they preface their words so carefully.
“I think in the back of our mind, that we both kind of thought, this is a rebound deal,” Blake admitted.
That is refreshingly honest.
They had both just undergone breakups — divorces, in fact.
Blake explained that they were both antsy about their new relationship “because we’re both coming out of a low spot in our lives.”
It is good to be self-aware of what is motivating you at any given point.
“And,” Blake said. “We’re kind of clinging to each other to get through this.”
But that was in 2015.
“But now, here we are, going on three years later,” Blake said.
He’s right.
If this were just a rebound relationship, we have to imagine that it would have fallen apart before 2017.
Instead, it looks like Gwen and Blake will still be going strong in 2019.
“And every day that goes by,” Blake gushed. “It just feels like a stronger bond between the two of us.”
Gwen and Blake seem to do everything together.
Blake has even stepped into a paternal role with Gwen’s children, though of course they also spend time with their father, Gavin Rossdale.
Blake loves his relationship, “and it constantly feels like it’s going to the next level.”
It might feel like that, even though they’ve avoided actually getting married.
But a lack of nuptials hasn’t lessened their bond.
“That’s the only way I think either one of us would probably describe it,” Blake concludes.
That makes a lot of sense.
It’s not just that they began dating right after some very messy, painful splits.
They actively bonded over their shared breakups. It was what brought them together.
Gwen had split with Gavin Rossdale after he was allegedly exposed banging the nanny.
And Blake has accused self-described homewrecker Miranda Lambert of cheating on him during their marriage.
Fast forward about three years, however, and whether or not this was a rebound, it’s worked.
It’s odd. Gwen Stefani is one of the most well known and successful pop stars on the planet.
Blake is very successful within the Country Music scene.
Culturally, they seem to come from different worlds. But they make it work.
And while they may not be married, exactly, they seem to spend their time like a family.
Source close to the couple have revealed that marriage just isn’t a priority for them.
It’s sort of funny — the stereotype is that Millennials put off marriage until they’re sure, while older generations are hell-bent on a wedding.
Overall, that stereotype is rooted in reality.
But look at Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin, Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson, and Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra.
Those are all Millennials and they’re all engaged after dating for relatively short stretches of time.
Meanwhile, Gwen and Blake are the ones who don’t need a piece of paper or a pair of rings to certify their happiness.
Not yet, anyway.
Since Gwen thinks about marrying Blake all the time, we won’t exactly be shocked when they actually do tie the knot.

Mackenzie Standifer Wants to Plan Your Wedding For Some Reason
Last month, in news that was both shocking yet not at all shocking, we learned that Ryan Edwards is leaving Teen Mom OG.
That doesn’t mean he’s leaving the public eye, though, because this is 2018, and fool’s gotta support his kid(s) somehow.
Ryan and his wife, Mackenzie Standifer, are expecting their first child together (it will be the second for both of them overall).
What would’ve been a heartwarming storyline on the MTV reality show that made him famous won’t be happening, though.
Edwards’ ex, Maci Bookout, reportedly demanded he be nixed from the show because of his struggles with drug addiction.
Maci, who cited the potential impact on their son Bentley, even said she wishes Ryan were still in jail … where he’s safer.
The sad part is she may have a point.
After Edwards’ latest arrest, the 30-year-old’s capacity to handle parenting (or just life, in general) has never been more in doubt.
Being out of work with a baby on the way and looking at prison time for violating probation is not a good position, to say the least.
Well, Mackenzie is – despite shady Ryan’s Tinder history and heroin use – trying to make lemonade out of her lemon of a husband.
She’s moving on to a new career, announced on an official website this week, as “MACKENZIE EDWARDS WEDDING AND EVENTS.”
That’s right, she’s a wedding planner!!
What are you waiting for, couples? She’s currently booking weddings for the fall of 2018, and is ready to make your dreams a reality.

Kylie Jenner: Caitlyn Is the Reason I"m a Billionaire!
As you may have heard, Kylie Jenner’s cosmetics line is quite popular.
So popular, in fact, that Kylie is almost a billionaire as a result of her wildly successful lip kits and other products.
Of course, there’s a reason that so many have taken issue with the phrase “self-made” being applied to Kylie.
After all, Kylie has had a lot of help from her many famous family members, most notably, of course, her mom and manager, Kris Jenner.
But Kris wasn’t the only parent to raise Kylie, and it seems the 20-year-old mogul wants to remind the world that there’s another important role model in her life.
Kylie has been extremely close to her father for her entire life, and she credits Caitlyn Jenner for helping her grow into the incredibly successful adult she’s become.
Now, she’s repaying the favor by getting Caitlyn involved in her several hundred million dollar makeup empire.
In a recent Instagram story, Kylie brought Caitlyn on camera to help her introduce a new filter that allows fans to see how they would look in various lipstick shades without actually having to buy the product.
“What is an Instagram filter?” asked a slightly confused Caitlyn.
“I saw, ‘Oh Kylie is using an Instagram filter.’ What the hell is that?”
Kylie patiently explained the concept to the 68-year-old former Olympian:
“Try on all my colors and it just makes you look flawless with a little lash,” she stated.
The father-daughter duo seemed to enjoy trying on different shades together, but more important than the new product launch was the obvious bond that they share.
Of course, this isn’t the first time that Kylie has shared her love for Caitlyn on social media.
Most recently, she paid tribute to Cait on Father’s Day by posting a collage of photos of the two of them together.
“So lucky to call you my dad,” she captioned the post.
And we’re sure Cait is equally happy to call Kylie her daughter.

Chloe Bennet: Dating Famed Douchecanoe Logan Paul for Some Reason ...
Chloe Bennet is the star of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and an incredibly talented, stunningly beautiful actress. She’s also a good person.
Logan Paul is a consummate YouTube star in the worst ways. Some were fortunate enough to have never heard of him before his video mocking Japanese suicide victims went viral at the beginning of the year.
For a while, they’ve been rumored to have been dating. And it is with heavy hearts that we confirm that this is true.
On Wednesday, one concerned fan’s question was able to confirm a mildly disturbing rumor.
“Hey @chloebennet,” a fan asked on Twitter. “I’m seeing rumors you are dating l*gan p*ul? just wondering why you would do that”
Note that this was the fan’s censorship of Logan Paul’s name, not ours (though that censorship can be a smart move on social media).
Celebrities don’t always respond to questions about dating rumors, even when they’re true. But Chloe did reply.
“‘Cause he’s kind, creative, funny, vibrantly curious about life, weird as f–k in all the best ways, a big dork, and he’s one of my best friends,” Chloe replied.
“It doesn’t make sense to a lot of people,” Chloe admitted in the same tweet. “But it doesn’t have to. He’s changed my life for the better and I’ve done the same for him.”
Some may be wondering why someone would censor Logan’s name in a tweet or why people would ask why any self-respecting person, particularly a woman of Asian descent, would date him.
The Twitter user who asked the question in the first place explained in a pair of follow-up tweets.
“I should have included the context within which I was inquiring: considering his past anti-Asian racisms,” the tweet reads. “I ‘censored’ his name so that I wouldn’t have to deal with his stans (so its non-searchable) eating my ass bc I don’t actually like them.”
That same Twitter user also responded to the answer that she received, writing:
“I appreciate that @chloebennet took the time to respond with her side of the story,” she tweeted. “I don’t like him any more than I did before, but this is her life and her choice — that’s the end of it.”
That is a very healthy point of view.
In case the revelation on Twitter wasn’t enough,
TMZ‘s cameras caught Chloe and Logan out and about in Beverly Hills, where they confirmed their relationship with a high five.
After what has apparently been some time of secrecy, they’re finally dating out in the open.
This might be alarming for a lot of Chloe’s fans, but … even though she’s a public figure, how much of this is their business?
Is Logan Paul a human garbage fire? Yes.
Over a month after the widespread controversy over his video in Japan’s infamous “suicide forest,” he filmed himself tasering a dead animal for some reason.
His behavior was so bad that YouTube once again suspended his ads.
Remember, folks, YouTube is a site whose algorithms often lead impressionable teens to Nazi recruitment videos. If you’re not meeting their content standards, you’re either really bad … or showed some forbidden nipples.
But that does not mean that Chloe Bennet does not get to make her own decisions.
We’re inclined to say that the Twitter user who asked her has the right idea when they write “this is her life and her choice — that is the end of it.”
Besides, who among us hasn’t dated or hooked up with a hottie with a terrible personality and struggled to justify our decision to friends?
You don’t have to like Logan Paul to support Chloe’s right to follow her own path.
And Chloe absolutely should not be held accountable for her boyfriend’s bad behavior.
Also, despite my frustration, this reminds me that I really should catch up on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Lamar Odom: Here"s the REAL REASON Khloe Kardashian Divorced Me!
With all the recent talk of Tristan Thompson cheating on Khloe Kardashian, it’s easy to forget that this isn’t the first time Khloe has chosen poorly while drafting from the ranks of the NBA.
Yes, before she was mother to baby True, Khloe was Mrs. Lamar Odom.
And if you’ll recall that relationship wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows, either.
Lamar was also unfaithful to Khloe, but the consensus has always been that what really drove the couple apart was Odom’s drug use.
His substance abuse was so severe that it eventually left Lamar comatose and fighting for his life in a Los Angeles hospital.
Khloe stood by his side as he recovered, which is futher evidence that she never stopped loving Lamar, but was forced to end their marriage simply because she couldn’t stand by and watch him destroy himself.
Or at least that’s what the Kris Jenner publicity machine has led us to believe!
Lamar has a memoir coming out next month, and today, the former NBA star spoke with US Weekly about the book:
“I”m very excited to work with BenBella Books, Inc. to release my very first book,” Odom said.
“My fans have always been the best and I really wanted to release this book to give you all a chance to get to know Lamar Odom and my real story, directly from me.”
He added:
“I hope to [be] an inspiration to many that you can overcome adversity and challenge no matter where you fall from.”
Pretty generic, boilerplate stuff, to be sure.
Lamar probably had a PR rep feeding him lines through an earpiece for that part of the interview.
Later on, however, things got mildly interesting:
According to Us, Lamar stated that the book would reveal “what led to the end” of his marriage to Khloe.
Normally, we’d say he’s just trying to move some units, but we all know the public version of the Kardashians’ personal lives is never the real story.
Maybe Lamar really does have some bombshell news that will make him seem like the sympathetic party here.
Of course, if he’s planning on engaging in any Khloe-bashing, his timing couldn’t be worse.
Generally, people aren’t fond of ganging up on new moms who just got cheated on by their partners.

Billy Bob Thornton Reveals "Only Reason" He Split With Angelina Jolie
Long before Angelina Jolie divorced Brad Pitt, the actress was involved in a different high-profile breakup.
Yes, some of our younger readers may not even remember the days when Jolie was married to Billy Bob Thornton, but that relationship happened — and it was every bit as bonkers as it sounds.
When the 19-year age difference and the fact that one of you is named Billy Bob are not even the weirdest things about the relationship, you know you’ve got something special.
Thornton and Jolie met on the set of the 1999 film Pushing Tin, and they married the following year.
The marriage only lasted three years, but oh, the memorable moments they provided us with during that time.
Angie and Billy Bob wore vials of each other’s blood on necklaces.
They informed the whole world that they’d just had sex in the days before social media when we weren’t accustomed to knowing way too much about each other’s lives.
And of course, they got tattoos in one another’s honor, but we’re pretty sure Angie has commemorative ink for every human she’s ever crossed paths with, so that’s no biggie.
The point is, Billy Bob and Angie seemed to be head over heels for one another.
So where did it all go wrong?
Well, as you’re no doubt aware, Jolie is the jet-setting type — the kind of person who makes the entire party cringe when she describes herself as “a citizen of the world.”
Billy Bob, conversely, is more of a homebody, and in a recent podcast interview, he revealed that that’s ultimately what led to the end of his fifth marriage.
“Hers is a global lifestyle, and mine is an agoraphobic lifestyle, so that’s really — that’s the only reason we’re probably not still together maybe, because of a different path in life we wanted to take,” Thornton said Wednesday.
“We just had different lifestyles.”
Thornton stated that he has only fond memories of his time with Jolie, a comment that his current wife (lucky number six!) might have mixed feelings about:
“I remember our time together as really being great,” Thornton said.
As for some of the wild behavior that he and Angelina engaged in, Billy Bob says much of it was exaggerated by a media that was at that time obsessed with Jolie’s eccentric ways.
“We had so much fun. A lot of the things [people] said about us at the time were exaggerated,” he said.
“It wasn’t as crazy as people wrote about it. You know what I mean?”
Thornton claimed the infamous blood necklaces were a prime example of this phenomenon:
“The necklaces were a very simple thing,” he said.
“‘Hey, let’s poke our fingers with a pen and smear a little blood on there, and when we’re away from each other, we’ll wear the necklace.’ It was that easy,” Billy Bob explained.
“But by the time it came out in the press, it sounded like we were wearing a bucket of blood around our necks.”
Well, when A-listers shed blood for any reason, it’s generally gonna make the tabloids.
It’s not quite what they mean by the phrase “if it bleeds, it leads,” but pretty close.

Khloe Kardashian: Look! I Still Support Tristan Thompson for Some Reason!
Tristan Thompson scored eight points and pulled down seven rebounds in Game 3 of the NBA Finals on Wednesday night.
But that modest statline barely told the story of this scandal-plagued power forward, who also likely scored after the game by pulling down someone else’s pants.
This should come as no surprise, of course, based on Thompson’s history.
But it should come as a surprise when you consider the woman with whom we’re assuming Tristan scored:
KHLOE KARDASHIAN!
Indeed, the long-time reality star and the mother of Thompson’s second child was in attendance at Quicken Loans Arena yesterday to watch Tristan and the Cleveland Cavaliers lose by a score of 110-102 to the Golden State Warriors.
The Warriors are now just one victory away from their third championship in four seasons, which is a very impressive feat.
Still, it’s not nearly as impressive as what Thompson appears to have accomplished here:
The shady southpaw has apparently gotten away with his many months of cheating on Kardashian and is now back in her good graces.
How else to interpret Khloe cheering on the Cavs at the game, while wearing a a team t-shirt and smiling as she made her way around the arena, according to TMZ and many onlookers?
Khloe gave birth to a baby girl she actually named True back on April 11.
This blessed event took place mere days after word spread across the Internet that Thompson had been sleeping with a multitude of women behind her (PREGNANT!) back.
Nevertheless, Khloe has remained in Cleveland since her child’s arrival, reportedly not residing with her dishonest boyfriend, yet clearly interacting with him very often.
(Let’s be serious, right? No one would leave in Cleveland voluntarily unless he or she had a practical reason to do so.)
Recent reports have alleged that Khloe’s famous family members have been urging her to move back to Los Angeles.
Yet she has shown no inclination to do so.
Does this mean Khloe has fully forgiven Thompson?
Or perhaps she just thinks it’s best for little True to have a father in her life.
We can’t say at the moment.
But Thompson has been showing signs of stress and tension throughout these playoffs, likely because he’s aware that once they’re over, he won’t have any excuse any longer to be away from Khloe.
(Nor, lacking any more road trips, will he have reliable avenue on which he can cheat on her.)

What will happen when the Cavs lose to the Warriors and Thompson is faced with a long offdeason and plenty of questions to answer at home?
The kind that have less to do with playing defense on Steph Curry and more to do with defending the duplicitous actions of his penis?
We don’t know.
But we’re sort of excited to find out.

Jana Duggar: The REAL Reason She"s Single Finally Revealed?!
If you’re a fan of the Duggar family, then you’re no doubt aware of the continued controversy surrounding Jana Duggar’s love life – or lack thereof.
Jana is single, and at 28, that may not seem like such a big deal, but the Duggars prioritize procreation over all things, and for a woman to be childless at Jana’s age is virtually unheard of in their community.
The question of why Jana remains single has long been a subject of debate for fans.
She’s a charismatic, ambitious and attractive young woman who’s known to be great with kids and handy around the house.
And it certainly doesn’t hurt that she comes from Arkansas’ second-wealthiest family. (It’s tough to top those Waltons.)
And yet, Jana remains unattached.
The situation has fans curious with regard to what might be preventing Jana from starting a family.
And as In Touch Weekly points out, it seems the debate is divided into two camps:
There are those who believe Jana simply doesn’t want to have children.
And there are those who believe she’s considered damaged goods in the Duggars’ close-knit community.
Adherents to the former theory believe that Jana is content to remain at home and help with the raising of her younger siblings.
Some even argue that she might be so exhausted from years of helping her mother that the idea of starting her own family seems impossibly daunting.
“What if she doesn’t actually want to be a mother at this point?” one Reddit user recently opined on a Duggar fan subreddit.
“She’s been raising her younger siblings so long, the thought of having her own and starting over could be exhausting.”
Others believe Jana looks at her sisters’ lives as cautionary tales and fears falling into the same trap that’s ensnared so many of them.
“I feel like she’s watched all her other siblings choose the wrong partners and she wants to avoid doing that,”
“I also feel like she’s single because she feels like she’d be obligated to have kids right away, and she probably doesn’t want kids considering how much she’s had to take care of the younger siblings.”
Compelling arguments, to be sure.
But it’s the latter theory that’s really gaining traction these days, as fans accept the idea that for as much as Jana is beloved by Counting On viewers, she might not be seen as wife material by her peers.
“I’ve always wondered if she missed her window,” one fan commented on Reddit recently.
“I’d love to believe that she didn’t want to just get married and have tons of babies with whoever happens to ask her to court, but I think she just missed her chance.
“I think Jim Bob or Jana turned one interested party down and no one else asked and then she turned a certain age and she was deemed too old in their community.”
It’s a sad possibility to contemplate, but unfortunately, it’s also a very plausible one.
It’s absurd to think of a 28-year-old woman as being too old for, well … anything, really, but members of the Quiverfull movement – of which the Duggars are strict adherents – are taught from a young age that procreation is their primary reason for being.
Boys and girls alike are taught that they’ve been given life for two reasons – to worship God and to create more life.
It’s not uncommon for Duggar women to marry while still in their teens and to get pregnant on their honeymoons.
A woman who’s approaching 30 obviously doesn’t have as many child-bearing years ahead of her as a woman in her early 20s, which is something that potential suitors no doubt consider when contemplating marriage with someone in Jana’s position.
Fortunately, as many fans have pointed out, there’s an easy solution to the dilemma:
Jana simply needs to break free from the belief system that’s stifling her and find a man who’s interested in more than her uterus.

Justin Bieber Photoshops His Face Onto Beyonce For Some Reason
Beyonce’s influence cannot be denied, and her must-watch Destiny’s Child reunion at Coachella has reminded the world that her performances are jaw-droppingly powerful.
Justin Bieber was so touched by Beyonce’s show that he decided to photoshop his own face onto her body.
The result is … quite something.
The Biebs is raising a few eyebrows on Instagram, and this time, it isn’t with his excessive body tattoos.
In the caption, Justin Bieber writes:
“Y’all need to meet my sister, Rachel Bieber.”
And the photo accompanying it is … quite something.
Take a look:
In case it is not immediately obvious to everyone, that is Justin Bieber’s face photoshopped onto Beyonce’s body.
Replies varied, including the neutral but humorous: “Leopard print suits you biebs.”
Bieber’s friends chimed in with their own comments.
The wonderful and surreal Jaden Smith write: “She’s bad.”
Patrick Schwarzenegger expressed interest in dating Bieber’s fictitious sister, writing: “Bruh set me up! Finally be brothers!”
Diplo, being Diplo, wrote: “I’d slice.”
Beyonce’s “Beychella” performance, as it has come to be known, was intense and captivating.
It was also record-breaking.
For one thing, Beyonce was the first black woman to ever headline Coachella.
Her performance was livestreamed, and so powerful and inspirational that it reached audiences around the globe.
In fact, it was the most viewed livestream in YouTube’s history.
Even Adele rocked out to the Beychella performance.
Others have gone viral with videos of themselves perfectly emulating the movements of Beyonce’s back-up dancers.
When he’s not dreaming of having legs for days, Justin has been enjoying Coachella.
He’s been hanging out with Post Malone and Bella Thorne.
Most notably, he reportedly defended a woman who was being strangled by a man (who apparently believed that she was his ex, which is … not an explanation for his behavior) by allegedly punching the man in the face.
It’s nice to see Justin becoming a defender of the innocent. Maybe he really is making himself better for Selena Gomez. Or at least for himself.
While he does not actually have a black sister with face-specific vitiligo named Rachel, the Biebs does have two half-siblings.
(Basically, his dad started getting laid more after Justin got famous)
And Justin’s dad’s brand new wife is pregnant, so it looks like he has yet another half-sibling on the way.
By the way, Beyonce isn’t done with Coachella.
But her performance on Saturday, April 21 will not be livestreamed by the venue.
It’s likely that there will be recordings made on handheld devices, but that will hardly be the same.
The implication is clear: Coachella wants people to attend, and the idea of seeing Beyonce in person alongside celebrities is difficult to resist.
Last weekend’s show revealed how good the festival can be. This weekend, only festival-goers will get that experience, and everyone else will miss out.
FOMA — the fear of missing out — is real, and people with the money and free time to go to music festivals have it, too.
Still, we wonder if seeing a performance like that over the weekend reminded Justin that he should go on tour again.

Tristan Thompson: The REAL Reason He"s Been Benched by the Cavs!
FACT: Tristan Thompson cheated on Khloe Kardashian will multiple women.
FACT: Tristan Thompson did not play any meaningful minutes for the Cleveland Cavaliers in their first two playoff games since news of this scandal broke.
RUMOR: Fact number-two is a direct result of fact number-one.
You’ve likely read this rumor all over the Internet, haven’t you?
Multiple celebrity gossip websites out there are trying to allege that Cleveland Head Coach Tyronn Lue has determined that either:
1. Thompson has become so much of a distraction, due to his off-the-court behavior, that he would negatively effect the team on the court.
2. Thompson does not deserve to see any playing time as punishment for stepping out on at least two occasions on his baby mama.
But are either of these statements true?
Would LeBron James actually risk a shot at his fourth NBA title because a teammate slept with a few Instagram models?
The truth is that Thompson only averaged 20.2 minutes per game this season, about seven-and-a-half minutes fewer per game than his career average.
He lost his spot in the starting lineup before the opening game even tipped off, as Coach Lue decided to start Kevin Love at center in order to optimize the offensive spacing on the court.
Thompson never seemed to recover from the slight.
He averaged a career-low 5.8 points per game in 2017-2018 and essentially tied for a career low by only averaging 6.6 rebounds per game.
Moreover, Cleveland made-over its roster almost entirely at the February trade deadline, acquiring four new players, including Larry Nance Jr.
Nance is a younger and more athletic version of Thompson, playing basically the same position, but doing so with more energy and with a higher shot-blocking rate.
In other words:
Thompson saw his minutes decline throughout the season, and then saw them take a precipitous drop once Nance Jr. joined the team.
The power forward only played 15 combined minutes in the third-to-last and second-to-last games of the season, prior to racking up nearly 30 minutes in the final regular season contest…
… only to end the game with plus/minus of -24. Against the awful New York Knicks, no less!
Thompson is simply an anachronistic basketball player.
Yes, he signed a five-year, $ 82 million contract as recently as 2015, but the league since then has emphasized three-point shooting and spacing on offense.
Thompson plays for a team that employs arguably the best driver and best passer in basketball.
Someone who cannot shoot from outside three feet simply clogs the lane for James, who is at his most unstoppable when his squad spreads the floor and gives him many options to whom he can pass.
The game has mostly passed Thompson by.
This may explain why he didn’t care about partying all night in early April with some random side piece, allegedly taking her back to his hotel room very early in the morning to have unprotected sex.
If he’s not gonna see any action between the lines that week, why not stay awake for awhile and see some action between the sheets, right?
With the Cavs playing the Pacers, who start Myles Turner at center, we doubt we’ll see much of Thompson at all this series.
Turner shot over 35% from three-point range this season and would drag Thompson away from the basket, mitigating Tristan’s one supposed skill: rebounding.
And if Thompson isn’t camped out under the basket boxing out opposing players, there’s really no point in having him on the court.
In closing, Tristan Thompson may be riding two to five side pieces these days, but that’s not why he’s riding the pine for Cleveland.
He simply isn’t very good at modern NBA basketball
