Lamar Odom: I Had 12 Strokes and 6 Heart Attacks During My Coma!
In 2015, Lamar Odom"s health crisis terrified his fans, his loved ones, and especially his then-soon-to-be-ex-wife, Khloe Kardashian.
Despite the salacious circumstances — he was rushed to the hospital from a brothel, after all — there are still things that we don"t know about that scary time.
Now, Lamar is opening up about how close things got — and this is one for the medical textbooks.
Kevin Hart has a new sports-based comedy series called Cold as Balls.
In it, he sits down with Lamar Odom in icewater — a common tactic for athletes to reduce swelling and to flush lactic acid out of their bodies. For Hart"s show, it"s just a gimmick.
Lamar tells Hart exactly how bad things got during his famous 2015 health crisis.
"All my doctors that see me say I’m a walking miracle," Lamar reveals.
Lamar then makes an astounding statement: "I had 12 strokes and six heart attacks when I was in a coma,”
12 strokes is more than most entire families have. And he had them while he was in a coma.
And, in case it needs saying, 6 is a lot of heart attacks for one person to have.
“Every day, I’m alive," Lamar says.
You know what? He sure is.
"It’s much better than the alternative," Lamar says, stating the obvious.
Even if you hold religious convictions that tell you that you have a pleasant afterlife ot anticipate, nobody is in a rush to get there. Life is life.
Lamar says that his "anxiety" and "bad decisions" were two huge factors behind his addiction struggles.
But though no one expects an athlete his age to nearly lose his life at a brothel, he says that he was surprised and awed to wake up with Khloe by his side.
"That was big," Lamar reveals.
Khloe, as you may recall, brought their divorce process to a grinding halt so that she could continue to have spousal visitations and spousal rights while he remained in the hospital.
Though he was grateful that Khloe and her family were so supportive during his recovery, he does admit that stress from his role in their family weighed heavily on him.
Shacking up with a Kardashian was a huge part of his life, and it had its drawbacks.
"It f–ked with my head, bro," he tells Hart.
"It made it tough to go outside," Lamar explains. "Every day, waking up, watching TMZ seeing if you’re going to be on it for the wrong reasons."
Some celebrities become consumed by media coverage of them. For someone married to a Kardashian, it"s almost mandatory.
"It’s not a comfortable feeling," Lamar understates.
In case you need a reminder, Lamar is 38 years old.
He was only 35 when this health crisis nearly claimed his life. A combination of his height, the stress that being a professional athlete can put on your body, and some inadvisable choices could have sent him to an early grave.
(Seriously, imagine if Khloe were a widow)
All of this talk about his brush with death is kind of a bummer, and it should be.
But can we just say what our favorite part of the interview was? It was when Lamar let Kevin Hart try on his two NBA championship rings.
Hart replies that the rings would fit better on his legs than on his fingers.

Lamar Odom Makes HUGE Announcement About His Future
Lamar Odom is finally getting back together with his one true love.
No, not Khloe Kardashian.
We just realized how you may have gotten that impression.
Instead, however, Odom has confirmed that he’s actually agreed on a deal to revive his basketball career.
Not in the NBA, though.
“I have some good news to share with you on this beautiful day from The Netherlands. My heart literally warms up now I can finally share with you all that I’m returning to play Basketball,” Odom captioned an Instagram post on Thursday afternoon, adding:
“I will be playing in China! God is good!”
Wow. We didn’t expect to hear this announcement.
Heck, the last we had heard about Odom, he was involved in a shootout while hanging out at a Hooters.
Odom hasn’t played professionally since his stint with the Clippers in 2012-2013.
About two years after hanging it up, seemingly for the last time, Odom nearly died.
As you likely know by now, he overdosed while inside a Nevada brothel — and it was believed, for a decent period of time afterward, that he might not even walk or talk again.
“Thanks lord for giving me another chance in life and thank you fans for your the love and support during all those hard years,” Odom continued in today’s post.
“Never give up on yourself and keep believing that only god can create the miracles you’re hoping for.
“Basketball and my children have always been the light in my life and this is where my focus is right now.”
Odom had previously teased his move to China in a since-deleted Instagram post on July 10, writing at the time:
“Happy & proud to announce that I have signed a global management contract with my new @NinetyPlusOfficial family.
“I feel so happy to be writing new episodes of my life in another country that’s so huge in basketball. I am so grateful to have you all as my supporting fans through my ups and downs.”
Odom averaged 13.3 points per game and 8.4 rebounds per game during his NBA career.
He was among the more versatile players in the league, although he never fulfilled his potential due to an ongoing drug addiction.
The same thing could basically be said about his marriage to Khloe.
It lasted a little over four years and it was marred by multiple instances of Odom either falling off the wagon, cheating or doing both at once.
To this day, sources will claim that Odom is still trying to win Khloe back over, as he’s never shied away from discussing his strong feelings for her.
If that romantic ship had not sailed before, however, it certainly hasnow.
Because ain’t no way Khloe is taking her daughter all the way to China. Sorry, Lammy.

Lamar Odom Involved In Shootout at Hooters!
Earlier this year, fans feared that Lamar Odom was headed for another health crisis.
Instead, it looks like he was caught up in a very different crisis — one that involved a gun, the police, and Hooters.
He’s okay, but this wild story could have very easily been a lot more serious.
TMZ reports that Lamar Odom’s incident involves the police being called to Hooters … which is already a lot.
So, apparently the police show up to a Hooters in Queens, New York in the wee hours of Friday, July 20.
Why? Because someone fired a gun in the parking lot.
Now, Lamar was not the guy who fired the gun.
But … he is definitely a part of this story.
According to witnesses who spoke to police, Lamar was with some friends at Hooters for whatever reason.
When they were leaving the restaurant, they apparently got into some sort of verbal altercation with another group of individuals.
At least part of this argument was reportedly captured by surveillance.
According to one of the witnesses who spoke to police, a man from the other group produced a gun. That’s when things turned serious.
Though he thankfully did not shoot anyone with it, he did what many would consider the next worse thing — he reportedly fired the gun into the air multiple times.
That group, as you can imagine, is said to have fled the scene.
Discharging a firearm in a public place isn’t just dangerous, scary, and threatening — it is also super illegal.
So the NYPD is searching for the shooter. Illegal discharge of a firearm in a public place is no joke.
However, TMZ reports that the police have not made any arrests in the case.
Considering that there are eyewitnesss and at least some surveillance footage, it is probably only a matter of time.
As for Lamar Odom, he was not injured and is also not in any trouble. He is said to have cooperated fully with investigators.
Saam Zangeneh is Odom’s attorney. He tells TMZ that Lamar is innocent in this.
“Lamar did nothing wrong and was not arrested,” Zangeneh says.
In fact, if he weren’t famous, it’s unlikely that anyone but local news would be talking about this at all.
“He’s a law abiding citizen,” Zangeneh reminds the world. “And he did his best to answer all the questions the police had for him.”
As we mentioned, it doesn’t sound like this would have ever made the news if Lamar weren’t a celebrity.
The fact that it all took place in a Hooters parking lot is entertaining — but only because no one was reportedly injured during the confrontation.
Plenty of people — most people, probably — have never even been to a Hooters and wouldn’t imagine heading to one at any time.
But for Lamar and the people with whom he was spending time, maybe it just made since if they wanted to grab something to eat late at night.
We don’t know what sparked the alleged confrontation with the other group. We may never know the subject of the argument.
But please do not bring a gun to Hooters and please do not fire that gun in the parking lot. Lamar isn’t the best guy in the world, but he doesn’t need to be around gunfire.

Lamar Odom: Here"s the REAL REASON Khloe Kardashian Divorced Me!
With all the recent talk of Tristan Thompson cheating on Khloe Kardashian, it’s easy to forget that this isn’t the first time Khloe has chosen poorly while drafting from the ranks of the NBA.
Yes, before she was mother to baby True, Khloe was Mrs. Lamar Odom.
And if you’ll recall that relationship wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows, either.
Lamar was also unfaithful to Khloe, but the consensus has always been that what really drove the couple apart was Odom’s drug use.
His substance abuse was so severe that it eventually left Lamar comatose and fighting for his life in a Los Angeles hospital.
Khloe stood by his side as he recovered, which is futher evidence that she never stopped loving Lamar, but was forced to end their marriage simply because she couldn’t stand by and watch him destroy himself.
Or at least that’s what the Kris Jenner publicity machine has led us to believe!
Lamar has a memoir coming out next month, and today, the former NBA star spoke with US Weekly about the book:
“I”m very excited to work with BenBella Books, Inc. to release my very first book,” Odom said.
“My fans have always been the best and I really wanted to release this book to give you all a chance to get to know Lamar Odom and my real story, directly from me.”
He added:
“I hope to [be] an inspiration to many that you can overcome adversity and challenge no matter where you fall from.”
Pretty generic, boilerplate stuff, to be sure.
Lamar probably had a PR rep feeding him lines through an earpiece for that part of the interview.
Later on, however, things got mildly interesting:
According to Us, Lamar stated that the book would reveal “what led to the end” of his marriage to Khloe.
Normally, we’d say he’s just trying to move some units, but we all know the public version of the Kardashians’ personal lives is never the real story.
Maybe Lamar really does have some bombshell news that will make him seem like the sympathetic party here.
Of course, if he’s planning on engaging in any Khloe-bashing, his timing couldn’t be worse.
Generally, people aren’t fond of ganging up on new moms who just got cheated on by their partners.

Lamar Odom to Khloe Kardashian: Dump Tristan Thompson & Marry ME!
As you’ve no doubt heard by now, Tristan Thompson was caught cheating on Khloe Kardashian while she was pregnant with his child.
That news was shocking enough on its own – but what happened next really threw fans for a loop.
It was widely assumed that Khloe would dump Tristan, but weeks after the allegations surfaced, nothing of the sort has happened.
In fact, rumors that Khloe still plans to marry Thompson have been circulating on social media.
Needless to say, there are many who find these developments deeply distressing.
Khloe’s family has issued ultimatums; her fans are encouraging her to seek help, and to the surprise of absolutely no one – a shadowy figure from Khloe’s past has once again swooped in hoping to take advantage of her vulnerable state.
We’re talking, of course, about NBA star-turned-uncle who always needs to borrow five bucks, Lamar Odom.
According to In Touch Weekly, Odom has joined the masses in encouraging Khloe to kick Tristan to the curb … and, hey, ya know, if she feels like giving old Lam-Lam a second chance, that might be cool, too.
Amazingly, Khloe’s family is said to be so fed up with Tristan that they’re actually encouraging Odom’s attempts at an intervention:
“Khloe needs help,” a source tells the tabloid.
“Lamar might have done some crazy things but he loved her. He loved her more than life itself. It’s eating him up watching Khloé being abused and taken advantage of by Tristan,” the insider adds.
He wants her to dump him so bad.”
Lamar swears his intentions are pure, and he only wants to help Khloe out of a bad situation as a way of expressing gratitude for the way she rushed to his side after he nearly died of a drug overdose in 2015:
“Lamar knows Khloé’s going through hell and would like to be there for her just like she was for him when he was knocking on death’s door,” the source explained.
“He has the utmost respect, love, and admiration for Khloé and is tremendously happy she’s had her first child. Truth be told — Lamar wishes he were the father.”
In the past, Lamar has benefited from Khloe’s short memory, as she took him back after repeated f-ck ups.
This time, however, it looks like Tristan will be grabbing his own rebound:
“Khloé never learns from her mistakes,” says a second insider.
“She forgave Lamar for cheating, and now she’s doing the same thing with Tristan. She thinks marriage will be the answer to their problems, even though it’s clear she can never trust him again.”
Yeah, Lamar!
Khloe’s not gonna keep forgiving men who have done her wrong over and over again.

Lamar Odom to Khloe Kardashian: Can I Please See Baby True?!?
Khloe Kardashian likely feels very alone right now.
Yes, the reality star has a number of family members in her corner, but she just gave birth to a little girl while living in a foreign city (Cleveland), which she moved to in order to be close to Tristan Thompson.
And then she found out that Thompson had been cheating on her. A lot.
We feel terrible for Khloe.
We can’t imagine what she has been going through over the past few weeks.
But we’re comforted by the knowledge that she isn’t truly going through it alone.
No, aren’t talking about Khloe’s famous sisters or her mother.
We’re actually talking about her ex-husband, Lamar Odom.
“Lamar’s been texting Khloe, checking on her and the baby and making sure she’s good,” an insider tells Life & Style, adding:
“He just wants to be a bed of comfort to her.”
First: LOL. Who actually talks like that?
It makes us question whether this supposed insider exists.
Second: Odom actually wants to be more than a “bed of comfort.”
The same source goes on to say the following:
“He’s hopeful to meet baby True soon. Like her mother, he knows that True will be absolutely gorgeous and he’d love the honor of holding her in his arms.
“He’s adores that name and only wishes he could have lived up to her name when he was with Khloe.”
This last part has been fairly well-documented.
Ever since he and Kardashian divorce many years ago, Odom has made it clear that he wishes he had acted differently during their marriage.
By the end of the four-year union, Lamar had fallen off the wagon and was back to using drugs.
Sadly, he also admitted to cheating on Khloe during this difficult period of his life.
But that was a long time ago.
Just a day after Thompson’s cheating scandal became public knowledge, Odom supposedly dialed up Khloe and said he wanted to get back together.
We somehow doubt this will happen, despite the strong feelings that still exist between the stars, but a reconciliation with Odom would certainly be a worthy act of revenge on Khloe’s part.
She could really stick it to Tristan that way, sort of how he’s been sticking it to many random women over the past several months with his penis.
“Lamar really wants to be part of Khloe and True’s life,” says this same tabloid source, concluding:
“He still loves her and doesn’t want her to have to be a single mother given the state of her relationship with Tristan. He really feels heartbroken for her.”
So do we.
We also feel sort of bad because for her daughter because, well… True Thompson?!?
