Chloe Dykstra Speaks Out After Chris Hardwick Denies Allegations

Last week, Chris Hardwick was accused of emotional abuse and sexual assault by his ex-girlfriend, Chloe Dykstra. She didn’t name him, but readers were easily able to connect the dots.

Hardwick strongly denied the horrifying accusations, which included claims of intensely controlling behavior, of using her sexually, of sickening emotional manipulation, and of working to end her career after their breakup.

Now that a week has passed, Chloe is opening up about what the powerful responses to her story meant to her.

“It’s been an intense couple of days,” Chloe writes on Instagram. “I have a few final words to say before moving forward. The link is in my bio. Sending love to all.”

That link leads to Twitter, where Chloe prefaces her lengthy and heartfelt words.

“Thank you all,” she tweets. “From the bottom of my heart.”

This is when her actual message begins.

“Thank you all so, so much, Chloe writes. “The outpouring of support and love I’ve received over the past few days has been incredible and unexpected.”

Unexpected because so many women who accuse famous, popular men of misdeeds end up villified, harassed, threatened, and even doxxed by angry fans.

“The people who have come forward with both stories validating mine,” Chloe writes, she sends her thanks.

Many on social media responded by saying that they had been through an experience similar to the one that she described.

In addition to the validation, Chloe appreciates the people who sent “stories of their own personal experiences.”

That, she reveals, had a powerfully positive impact on her.

Chloe writes that those personal accounts “have helped me immensely with my own healing process.”

It can be powerfully therapeutic to realize that you are truly not alone in your experiences.

“After years of therapy and rebuilding,” Chloe writes. “Your support has done so much more for me than all of it combined.”

That makes sense, though we hope that her therapist doesn’t take it personally.

She is referring to a widespread phenomenon in which those who have been abused — whether it’s emotional abuse or brutal violence — second-guess their own experiences and almost try to convince themselves that what they describe wasn’t half bad.

Part of that is society’s pressures for survivors to keep silent. Part of that is the mind games that abusers play with their victims. Part of that is just human survival instincts run amok, basically.

“This whole experience has opened my eyes to so much,” Chloe’s post continues.

Chloe says that she has learned a lot, “and my heart goes out to those trapped in unhealthy or abusive relationships.”

She has sympathies for those “who haven’t found the strength to leave” these toxic situations.

That might sound victim-blamey, but it takes a tremendous amount of strength to break through the fog of manipulation and threats in which many abusers trap their victims.

Chloe also acknowledges “those suffering in the workplace due to abuses of power or unfair treatment.”

Not everyone can simply leave, and she knows that.

If you have a four-year-old child at home and you’re their only provider, you might grin and bear it as you get harassed or groped at work because you don’t feel like you have other options.

Her heart goes out to all of those people, “and especially to those that don’t feel their voice can be heard the way mine has.”

Chloe Dykstra has fans and followers, despite the alleged efforts to ruin her career after her breakup.

“It is my hope, and it always was,” Chloe writes. “That women and men on both sides of abuse will make changes to either protect themselves, or to stop the cycle of pain their own behavior can cause.”

Honestly, stop being awful is a very modest request of abusers.

“These behaviors are insidious and often hard to spot,” Chloe warns. “We make excuses for them and, bit by bit, we can lose ourselves entirely.”

“Despite recent events,” Chloe continues. “I hope that everyone personally affected by my story can to find their own closure.”

Closure can be a key part of recovery. It’s not always possible, but it’s helpful.

She suggests that they might do so “through the support of loved ones and friends, the way I have.”

Note that she doesn’t specifically identify family. She is probably very well aware that, for many people, family is the source of this nightmare, not the haven from it. That is so sad.

Chloe adds that “in addition, my heart goes out to those caught in the fallout.”

Sometimes, when you call out something bad that someone did, you lose friends or make things uncomfortable with others.

Some people lose half of their family when they flee their abuser.

Chloe feels that, even though doing so was absolutely terrifying, coming forward with her accusations was a huge weight off of her shoulders.

“Having been able to lift from my shoulders that which was weighing me down,” Chloe writes. “I’m ready to move forwards in my life, finally.”

That is so beautiful.

And moving forward is precisely what she intends to do “instead of looking back with fear and sadness.”

We wish her luck!

Chris Hardwick Accused of Sexual Assault By Actress Chloe Dykstra

You might know Chris Hardwick from the Walking Dead after-show, Talking Dead, or as host of the now-canceled Comedy Central series @Midnight, or simply as an ever-present figure in the corner of the media landscape most closely associated with “nerd culture.”

But Hardwick is trending on Twitter today not because of his work, but because of shocking allegations of abuse from a former girlfriend.

The popular host and creator of Nerdist Industries dated actress Chloe Dykstra for three years, and today, she published a Medium article detailing abuse she suffered at the hands of a man that many believe to be Hardwick.

Dykstra never mentions Hardwick by name, but details about the nature of their relationship and his career make it clear who she’s accusing.

The 29-year-old says that several years ago she began a relationship with a man who was nearly 20 years her senior, and who

“I was expected to be [sexually] ready for him when he came home from work. Every night, I laid there for him, occasionally in tears,” she writes.

“He thought the whole idea was funny. To be fair, I did go along with it out of fear of losing him.”

Dykstra goes on to claim that the abuse began just weeks into her relationship with Hardwick and left indelible scars on her psyche.

“I’m still recovering from being sexually used (not in a super fun way) for three years,” she says.

Dykstra claims that Hardwick manipulated and intimidated her in such way as to ensure she would continue to comply with his sexual demands.

“’I just want to remind you, the reason my last relationship didn’t work out was because of the lack of sex,’” she recalls him saying.

Dykstra says that even with the progress yielded by the #MeToo movement in recent months, she still expects to be interrogated and harassed on social media.

Chris Hardwick

And sadly, if GamerGate and other recent examples of toxic nerd culture run amok are any indication, she’s not wrong in that assumption:

“It will probably hurt me now too, despite the #MeToo movement. We’ve come a long way, but we still have a ways to go,” Dykstra writes.

Earlier today, Dykstra tweeted a message of gratitude for those who offered support online, writing:

“I quietly posted an article today, unlisted on Medium. It clearly made the rounds. I’m overwhelmed and I want to thank all of you for your support and kind words- they mean so much to me.”

Hardwick married Lydia Hearst in 2016.

He has yet to respond to Dykstra’s allegations.

Lenny Dykstra Arrested For Assault, Possession, Being Lenny Dykstra

Perhaps you haven’t been keeping up on the post-retirement antics of former baseball semi-great Lenny “Nails” Dykstra.

So allow us to fill you in with the breathless glee of someone bringing you up to speed on the world’s most bonkers reality show.

Basically, imagine a form of batsh-t behavior and ya boy Lenny D has done it twice and bragged about it on social media.

Random feud with Lena Dunham?

Did it and then tried to have sex with her.

Accusing Charlie Sheen of murder?

You better believe it happened and that every hard drug under the sun was involved.

That last story left us with the impression that the 55-year-old chewing tabacky enthusiast’s most depraved days were behind him.

But just as we were beginning to give up hope, Nails went ahead and out-Nailsed himself.

That’s Lenny’s latest mug shot, taken Wednesday after he was investigated for allegedly assaulting an Uber driver:

Dykstra was eventually charged with making terroristic threats, as well as possession of cocaine, marijuana, and MDMA.

So either police searched him, or they just casually asked, “What’s in ya pockets today, Lenny?” as soon as they arrived on the scene.

The driver told police that Dykstra put a gun to his head, but no weapon was recovered at the scene.

Dykstra denied the allegations in the sort of profanity-laced tirade that appears to be his sole means of communication:

“The guy went nuclear on me,” he told the New York Daily News

“He f–king kidnapped me and almost killed me going 100 mph. He locked me in his f–king car, and he wouldn’t let me out.”

Hilariously, Dykstra later brushed off the charges on Twitter by quoting Taylor Swift:

“But I keep cruising, can’t stop, won’t stop moving. It’s like I got this music in my mind, sayin’ gonna be alright,” he wrote.

This latest arrest, of course, is far from Dykstra’s first brush with the law.

He was sentenced to six and a half months in federal prison in December 2012 after pleading guilty to bankruptcy fraud, concealment of assets and money laundering.

That same year, Dykstra was sentenced to three years behind bars after pleading no contest to three counts of grand theft auto and filing a false police statement.

The prison sentences ran concurrently and Dykstra was released in June of 2013.

Sadly, he went right back to being Lenny Dykstra.

No word yet on whether or not Dykstra is facing more prison time, but we’ll keep you posted as more ridiculous details emerge.

Lenny Dykstra: Charlie Sheen Is a Murderer!

Charlie Sheen has been accused of just about every type of sordid behavior imaginable over the course of his 52 years as a tiger-blood guzzling warlock from Mars.

But before today, the Sheenius had never been publicly accused of taking a human life.

Sadly, the actor/human chemistry experiment will now be forced to cross that item off his resumé (or bucket list – this is Charlie Sheen we’re talking about) thanks to a mind-blowing new interview with his former friend, baseball legend Lenny Dykstra.

The notorious bad boys were BFFs for more than 20 years.

They first hung out together in 1993, partying in exactly they way you would expect from guys nicknamed Chuckles and Nails, respectively.

According to Dykstra, he stopped by Sheen’s house, and the two of them proceeded to get “hammered” and bond over automatic weapons and $ 3,000 bottles of wine.

Several sh-tty years later, as Kenny Powers would say, Dykstra has done hard time and is no longer on speaking terms with Sheen.

Dykstra shared all of these details and revealed exactly why he chose to end his relationship with Sheen in a stunningly candid conversation with The Hollywood Reporter.

After retiring from baseball, Dykstra embarked on a number of sketchy business ventures, amassing more than $ 58 million and losing it all shortly thereafter.

In 2011, after being charged with indecent exposure, drug possession, grand theft auto, identity theft and filing false financial statements, Dykstra was sentenced to three years in prison.

He claims that in the months before his sentence began, he became a sort of personal assistant to Sheen, arranging deals and offering advice that the troubled star rarely took.

Dykstra says he attempted to convince Sheen to come forward with his HIV diagnosis more than a year before the actor revealed his illness publicly.

The Philadelphia Phillies icon adds that these days, Sheen is living a tortured existence – alienated from most of his inner circle and facing a tax fraud investigation that might eventually land him behind bars.

Dykstra reveals to THR that he first realized how far Sheen had fallen when witnessing the near-fatal drug binge that coincided with Sheen’s famous “meltdown.”

“When [the OxyContin pills] are at their peak, it’s a euphoria, where you’re smart and you’re creative and you’re quick and you’re invincible,” Dykstra says of the famous 2011 interview in which Sheen introduced “winning” to the pop culture lexicon.

Dykstra says he last saw Sheen in 2014 and found him to be a shell of his former self:

“It was right out of a mystery spy thriller, with a sliding bookcase,” he says.

“I walked in and Charlie was standing there with a glass dick — a crack pipe — in one hand and his phone in the other. I took one look around, there’s all this stuff, cool paintings and Babe Ruth’s ring, and I said, ‘Charlie, I have to admit, if you’re going to smoke crack, this has got to be the best crack den on the planet!’ That broke the ice.”

But the most shocking revelation has to do with Sheen’s former friend and de facto assistant, Rick Calamoro, who was found dead of an apparent accidental overdose in 2012.

Dykstra claims that after Calamaro insinuated himself in Sheen’s social circle, many began to suspect that he had done so with plans to write a tell-all book about the actor:

“Before I went [to jail], I said, ‘Dude, this guy, he is writing a f-cking book, you got to fire him,"” Dykstra recalls.

After he was released from jail, Dykstra says he confronted Sheen about Calamaro’s death:

“What the fuck happened to Calamaro?” Dykstra remembers asking.

“He said, ‘You mean Dead Rick? What f-cking happened is the motherf-cker tried to blackmail me just like you said — wanted $ 5 million. I had him fucking iced.’ He said he had a hot dose put in there,”

Dykstra says “hot dose” is slang for an intentionally lethal dose of an intravenous drug that can be used to murder a user without suspicion.

Interestingly, Dykstra says he’s come to terms with Sheen’s alleged murder, but remains distraught over charges that Sheen assaulted his former fiancée Brett Rossi.

“Killing the guy that fucking tried to extort him: That’s his business,” he says. But what Rossi alleges happened to her is too much for him. “Men, they get in rages. But no pummeling.”

THR also spoke with Rossi, who details her allegedly abusive relationship with Sheen, and says she believes her ex to be capable of murder.

Not surprisingly, Sheen could not be reached for comment, but we’re guessing he would’ve muttered something about “Adonis DNA.”

Lenny Dykstra Attempts to Seduce Lena Dunham, Repulses Twitter

If you’re not a fan of baseball or tobacco-chewing ex-cons with tobacco chewing ex-con names, then you might not be familiar with Lenny Dykstra.

We won’t bore you with the details of Dykstra’s career on the field or the shady shenanigans that later landed him behind bars, but suffice it to say, he’s one of the sports world’s great dirtbags.

In fact, “Nails” is such a colossal douche wagon that he’s got us out here defending Lena Dunham.

In one of the most random encounters in the history of social media, Dykstra wound up sleazing up Lena’s timeline last night in an exchange that’ll leave you in desperate need of a bleach and Brillo pad bath.

It all started when Lena announced that ball players are the new Williamsburg urban farmers:

“I’m horny for baseball players! Wow!” Dunham tweeted without context.

In a feat of either horn-dog opportunism or a surprisingly amusing trolling, Dykstra encouraged Dunham to act on her impulse:

“DM me,” Dykstra tweeted to Lena, later adding video highlights from his career in order to help her “get the bloodflow going.”

When fans began to question Dykstra’s intentions, he confirmed that he was not actually interested in Dunham sexually, and is actually just bored, presumably having run out of Skoal.

“Oh, I’m just looking to tease her and break her heart,” Dykstra tweeted.

“You guys I’m being simultaneously trolled & seduced by @LennyDykstra this day has gotten really f–king weird,” Dunham remarked seemingly have no more idea about what the hell is happening here than we do.

It was then that Dykstra invited Dunham to ride on his – sigh – “space shuttle.”

“You know deep down you want to take a ride on the space shuttle,” Dykstra tweeted, presumably in reference to his penis.

“Do you just sit around asking your friends ‘what’s the least witty way I can revolt a woman?” Dunham fired back.

Dykstra responded that he can be “so much less witty” than proved his point by offering Lena the use of his baseball bat, before remarking that “Darryl Strawberry’s is bigger.”

Believe it or not, the two of them went on like this for over an hour.

In terms of WTF?! Lena Dunham scandals, this one is somewhat more shocking than Lena abandoning her dog.

But it’s far less baffling than Dunham’s comments about her sister, because just about everything on the planet is.

Thanking you for sticking with us through this saga, and we apologize for the loss of your lunch.
