Jimmy Fallon Roasts Donald Trump Mercilessly After Twitter Feud

After Jimmy Fallon tried to walk back some of his 2016 friendliness towards Donald Trump, the POTUS let him have it on Twitter.

Specifically, Trump demanded that Jimmy Fallon "man up" and not apologize for humanizing Trump during a critical election year.

Fallon responded by donating to a group working to help immigrants. He also went after Trump in a monologue. Watch!

Jimmy fallon tussles donald trumps hair

So, Jimmy Fallon expressed regrets for that shameful incident in which he had Donald Trump on as a guest during the 2016 election.

At the time, Fallon ruffled Trump"s hair as if Trump were just some eccentric reality star and not a clear and present danger to American ideals and freedoms.

Trump saw Fallon"s regrets and, as he is want to do, flipped out on Twitter. So Jimmy Fallon responded in his monologue.

"Before we begin," Fallon tells his audience. "I just wanna give a shout out to our show’s number one fan — the President of the United States!"

Picking up on his intention, the audience applauds — something that you"re not likely to hear Trump elicit outside of one of his infamous rallies.

Fallon slash trump

Jimmy sets the stage.

"As you may have heard last night," Fallon says, explaining the premise. "The President of the United States went after me on Twitter."

"So Melania, if you"re watching, I don"t think your anti-bullying campaign is working."

Melania"s proposed bullying campaign has been a source of many jokes, even before she shared that it was called "Be Best."

It seems that Melania doesn"t really care.

"When I saw that Trump insulted me on Twitter," Fallon explains. "I was gonna tweet back immediately, but I thought, "I have more important things to do.""

That line, of course, is just a set-up for his punchline.

"Then I thought, "Wait, shouldn"t he have more important things to do?!"" Fallon exclaims. "He"s the president! What are you doing? Why are you tweeting at me?"

Many have lamented that Trump spends so much time on Twitter. But that pales beside his record-breaking time spent golfing.

"Crazy," Fallon says. "The President went after me on Twitter. It"s pretty much the only thing I have in common with NFL players."

Trump has, of course, been famously critical of football players who kneel in protest of rampant anti-black violence.

"In response," Fallon says, reiterating what he had already tweeted. "I made a donation in Trump"s name to the Refugee And Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services."

RAICES is an organization that many see as the perfect counter to Trump"s preference of placing refugees, asylum seekers, and others who cross the border in internment camps.

"Or RAICES," Fallon says, leading up to his next joke. "When Trump heard that, he was like: "I love RAICES, they"re my favorite peanutbutter cup.""

Fallon then proceeds to deliver some mild burns to Trump.

"A new poll found that 58 percent of Americans think President Trump is intelligent," Fallon cites.

Sorry if that statistic crushes the final vestiges of anyone"s lingering faith in humanity or the American public.

Fallon jokes: "In response, Trump was like, "Ok, what did the other 58 percent say?""

Fallon then moves on to poking fun at Trump"s lack of geopolitical savvy.

"And today at the White House, Trump met with the King and Queen of Jordan," Fallon says. "Which got awkward when Trump thanked the King of Jordan for giving us Michael."

That line refers to Michael Jordan, a famous baseball player.

Fallon then went on to make quips about Sarah Huckabee Sanders getting asked to leave a restaurant and then about Trump"s angry Twitter response that better resembled a Yelp review.

Jimmy fallon on his show

Is Jimmy Fallon especially funny? Not in this monologue.

(You can enjoy the monologue because of its politics without finding it to be a laugh riot)

Should he be forgiven for his hair-ruffling humanization of Donald Trump during such a critical election year? Probably not, but history will be the judge.

But it is definitely not appropriate for the President of the United States to use his position to attack comedians. Or restaurants. Or political rivals. Or, you know, people with brown skin.

Considering that Trump locked up a couple thousand kids in cages and called for Samantha Bee to be fired, his attack on Fallon was relatively mild.

Good for Fallon for using the opportunity to donate to a good cause, though. He deserves credit for that.

Donald Trump to Jimmy Fallon: Be a Man, You Loser!

Donald Trump is finally tackling one of the major issues facing our country:

How Jimmy Fallon feels about the interview he conducted with the President back in September of 2016.

About a month before he stunned the world by getting elected Commander-in-Chief, Trump sat down across from Fallon on The Tonight Show.

But the host of this iconic late-night program didn’t press The Donald on any legitimate issues plaguing the nation or challenge his knowledge on any important subject.

Nope. Instead, Fallon asked about Trump’s infamous hair and even gave it a tussle.

The comedian was LAMBASTED on social media and across various circles for this behavior, with critics taking Fallon to task for simply joking around with Trump, for treating him as a funny and harmless and jovial person.

When, in fact, as has now been proved time and again, Trump was a threat to our Democracy.

Here. Take a look below to refresh your memory over what transpired about two years ago:

Shortly after, when faced with this critcism, Fallon scoffed.

Have you seen my show?” he asked a reporter, implying that he’s known for lobbing soft balls at his guests and prides himself on NOT being hard-hitting.

“I’m never too hard on anyone,” he added.

This is true, and it did sort of raise an interesting debate about the role/responsibilities of a late-night talk show host.

But now that Fallon has seen the horrors of a Donald Trump Presidency, most notably the separation of kids from their parents at the border over immigration issues, the former Saturday Night Live cast members has expressed regret.

Fallon said in a recent interview that he he didn’t mean to “normalize [Trump] or to say I believe in his political beliefs” and that he feels badly about it.

And, naturally, this has made him the subject of an attack from the President:

fallon/trump

Tweeted Trump on Monday morning:

“.@jimmyfallon is now whimpering to all that he did the famous “hair show” with me (where he seriously messed up my hair), & that he would have now done it differently because it is said to have “humanized” me-he is taking heat. He called & said “monster ratings.” Be a man Jimmy!”

Two things are notable about this Tweet:

  1. There are no typos! That’s incredible.

  2. Trump is very focused for some reason on how Fallon allegedly really did mess up his hair, as if this was a source of debate or contention.

As you can see above, Fallon has chosen to take the high road in response.

He isn’t Jimmy Kimmel or Stephen Colbert.

He has not made it this far by engaging in politics; and certainly not in tweaking the President in any way, shape or form.

Fallon has managed to make Jay Leno look polarizing by comparison.

Therefore, Fallon’s simple response to Trump baiting him is to simply say:

“In honor of the President’s tweet I’ll be making a donation to RAICES in his name.”

This is an organization in Texas dedicated to reuniting children with their mothers and/or father. It’s a great cause. We can’t fault Fallon to giving money to it obviously.

But a lot of Fallon’s core audience is comprised of Trump’s voting base.

It would at least be a little interesting to see how they would respond if Fallon and Trump actually went back and forth for a bit.

That isn’t Jimmy’s style, however.

And we can argue for weeks about whether it’s his responsibility.

All we know for certain is this:

Trump cares a lot more about a celebrity saying something negative about him than he cares about American citizens in Puerto Rico having electricity in their homes.

This is Why Taylor Swift Made Jimmy Fallon Cry Last Night

As previously reported, Jimmy Fallon recently lost his mother.

The host took a week off from filming The Tonight Show to mourn his loved one and then returned on Monday night and briefly addressed the sad situation from behind his desk.

At the top of the hour, Fallon said he was by his mother"s side when she passed away…

… and then he shared a memory that combined his childhood with his mother"s final moments.

“When we were little, my mom would walk us to the store, and we would hold hands. And she would squeeze my hand three times, and say ‘I love you,‘” a teary-eyed Fallon told the audience.

“Last week, I was in the hospital and I grabbed her hand and squeezed ‘I love you.’ I just knew we were in trouble.”

How does this story relate to musical guest Taylor Swift?

Swift performed the track “New Years Day” on the program, which is a ballad about never leaving a loved one’s side.

And it turns out that a lyric on the single bears a striking similarity to the memory Fallon revealed earlier in the evening.

“You squeeze my hand three times in the back of the taxi,” Swift sings in one verse. “I can tell that it’s gonna be a long road.”

When Taylor sang these words, Fallon was visibly moved to years off-camera, sources have confirmed.

And for an understandable reason, right?

According to writer/producer Mike DiCenzo, Swift wasn"t even booked for the show until the last moment.

And no one had any idea she would sing something that happened to be so personal to the host.

"I could see Jimmy silhouetted at his desk dabbing his eyes with a tissue," DiCenzo tweeted about the moment Swift hit that line, adding:

"We all lost it. It was a beautiful coincidence in a beautiful performance."

After she completed her performance, Swift and Fallon embraced.

You can hear the latter thanking the former in the video below.

"That hug between Jimmy and Taylor after the song was 100% real emotion. Whatever you think of Taylor, she did something beautiful for Jimmy and our show today, and we"re forever grateful," DiCenzo also said.

Pretty cool, huh?

Even Jimmy Fallon Has Now Slammed Donald Trump

Donald Trump has officially lost his best friend on television.

Just kidding: Sean Hannity will never abandon his hero in the White House.

But Jimmy Fallon, a late-night talk show host who typically shies away from politics and who infamously toussled Trump"s hair in playful fashion last night, simply could not stay silent any longer.

On Monday evening, two days after the President refused to call out by name the White Supremacists who caused violent upheaval in Charlottesville over the weekend, Fallon addressed the situation in his monologue.

“The Tonight Show isn’t a political show,” said the host.

“[But] it’s my responsibility to stand up to intolerance and extremism as a human being. What happened over the weekend in Charlottesville, Virginia was just disgusting.”

On Saturday, a neo-Nazi drove his car into a group of protestors, killing a 32-year old woman in the process.

The protests had gotten underway in response to these same neo-Nazis marching around the city and chanting hate-filled rhetoric.

In response, President Trump blamed "many sides" for the unrest and did not cite the racist group of bigots by name until he caved to pressure 48 hours later.

"The fact that it took the President two days to come out and clearly denounce racists and white supremacists is shameful,” Fallon said on air, adding:

“I think he finally spoke out because people everywhere stood up and said something… Ignoring it is just as bad as supporting it.”

At one point, it appears as if Fallon was on the verge of tears while speaking.

The comedian then paid tribute to Heather Heyer, the aforementioned victim who lost her life in Charlottesville "standing up for what"s right."

"We all need to stand against what is wrong, acknowledge that racism exists, and stand up for all that is right, and civil, and kind," Fallon continued.

“And to show the next generation that we haven’t forgot how hard people have fought for human rights. We cannot do this. We can’t go back. We can’t go back."

Jimmy Fallon Addresses Alcoholism Rumors: I"m Not Drunk Every Night!

For years now, rumors about Jimmy Fallon’s alleged drinking problem have been circulating online and in the tabloid media.

The speculation was spurred by numerous witnesses who gave accounts of Fallon frequently getting “very drunk” at NYC bars after completing filming on The Tonight Show.

There were even reports that Fallon’s bosses at NBC were concerned about his hard-partying ways.

Now, Fallon is finally speaking out about the controversies that have plagued his squeaky-clean nice guy image in a candid interview with The New York Times.

While Fallon’s comments about tousling Donald Trump’s hair in a much-derided pre-election interview have attracted the most attention on social media, the 42-year-old comic also made some surprising revelations about his fondness for the sauce.

Asked about a New York Post piece that described him as “out of control” and attributed Fallon’s recent injuries to drunken accidents, the host shrugged off the accusations – but tellingly did not deny that he’s a heavy drinker.

“I could never do a day-to-day job if I was drinking every night,” Fallon insisted.

He went on to claim that the rumors about his drinking are part of an effort to further demoralize him during his current career slump.

“That’s just kicking you when you’re down,” he told the newspaper.

After years of late night dominance, Fallon’s show has now fallen to second place in the ratings behind the much more politically-charged Late Night with Stephen Colbert.

Industry analysts believe Fallon’s young, mostly left-leaning audience felt alienated by his controversial Trump interview, but the amiable SNL alum says his intentions have been misinterpreted:

“I didn’t do it to humanize him,” Fallon said.

“I almost did it to minimize him. I didn’t think that would be a compliment: ‘He did the thing that we all wanted to do.’”

He added that becoming a frequent butt of jokes on social media has taken an unexpected emotional toll:

“I’m a people pleaser,” he continued.

“If there’s one bad thing on Twitter about me, it will make me upset. So, after this happened, I was devastated. I didn’t mean anything by it. I was just trying to have fun.”

As for the rumors of a feud between Fallon and Colbert, Jimmy insists that the hosts remain close friends and claims he’s never been one to worry about the ratings.

“We’re winning in something. People in the height requirement between 5-7 and 5-11, we’re No. 1, from 11:50 to 11:55,” he joked.

“I never, ever care. I’ll know when someone fires me.”

Jimmy Fallon vs. Stephen Colbert: Unexpected Feud Alert!

With his affable, Guy Smiley-esque demeanor and fondness for silly party games, it’s hard to imagine Jimmy Fallon as a cutthroat competitor, but one doesn’t climb the ladder of late night success without an abundance of ambition.

Of course, the same could be said of Fallon’s top rival, Stephen Colbert, who made a name for himself satirizing right wing blowhards, but is now letting his nice-guy charm shine on CBS’ Late Show.

Given the genial natures of the late nights current kings and Fallon’s consistent dominance in the ratings, no one expected that Coblert’s transition to a major network would result in a Letterman vs. Leno-like battle for supremacy, but it seems that’s exactly what’s happening thanks to Colbert’s latest ratings boost.

Yes, the “Colbert bump” that Stephen used to joke about on his Comedy Central show has happened in reverse, as the election of Donald Trump appears to have turned viewrrs away from Fallon’s apolitical capering straight toward Colbert’s more topical monologues.

Colbert is no firebrand, and that seems to be working to his advantage, as there’s no shortage of politically-charged outrage these days.

What the 52-year-old offers is a sort of throwback alternative – reasoned takedowns of Trump and company at a time when the outrages of the administration seem to have caused some comics to sacrifice wit in favor of blunt force.

By contrast, Fallon has chosen to stick to the pop cultural observations and and celebrity brown-nosing that have long made him the safe choice in late night.

The host is still smarting from the now-infamous Trump hair tousling interview that many believe helped humanize the candidate at a critical stage in the election cycle, and some feel Fallon’s reluctance to riff on Trump signals a sort of tacit endorsement.

Now, it seems that Fallon’s decision to stick to innocuous escapism may be costing him dearly, as The Late Show has now edged out The Tonight Show in total viewership for five weeks running.

“[Fallon] is feeling the pressure. I mean, Stephen Colbert is now beating him in a big way and he has to change his format to keep up because he’s losing viewers,” a source tells Page Six.

“They had to figure out a way to get Trump [into his routine] because he’s too weak on Trump, and viewers are going elsewhere. [He’s been] uncomfortable talking about politics, and that’s not what the people want.”

Colbert’s audience has grown an astonishing 29 percent from this time last year, and his sudden rise in popularity seems to have everything to do with his willingness to embrace the political madness of 2017.

It’s worth noting that Fallon still has the upper-hand in the all-important 18-49 demographic, but insiders say the ultra-competitive SNL alum is still fretting his current ratings slump.

“He freaks out over this. He has to be on top,” says one source.

Now it seems that in order to reclaim his crown, Fallon may have to venture into territory that seems to make him uncomfortable.

Emma Stone Accepts Whisper Challenge from Jimmy Fallon

It"s time we finally stopped to consider the following question:

Might Emma Stone be the most entertaining guest in late-night talk show history?

We can imagine Jennifer Lawrence taking exception to this possibility. And maybe Alec Baldwin.

Heck, Cameron Diaz always looks to be having a blast any time she speaks to Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel or Stephen Colbert.

But Stone set the must-watch bar pretty high two years ago when she lip-sync battled Fallon on The Tonight Show … and then she returned to that same program last night.

And slayed it once again.

Playing the “Singing Whisper Challenge,” the beloved actress had to don headphones blasting loud music while Fallon sang (in a whisper).

His first track was “Born in the U.S.A.” which Stone had serious trouble guessing.

"Whatever you’re doing looks inappropriate. Like, there’s no why you’re doing it on the show,” Stone loudly shouted over the noise of her headphones, adding:

“It looks like ‘Pork in the Desert.""

That"s a song we would totally listen to!

Later on, Fallon went all Elvis on his guest and his viewers, while also making a rather dirty joke.

What did he say? How did Stone react?
