Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson Surprise Absolutely No One by Breaking Up
Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson have called off their engagement.
We’ll give you a minute to recover from the shock…
Wait? What’s that? You aren’t stunned at all because this was the most obvious break-up of all-time?
Fair point.
According to People Magazine, Us Weekly and other reliable outlets, the singer and the Saturday Night Live cast member have called off their short, albeit intense, romance.
The stars started dating late this spring and then announced their engagement, like, two weeks later, taking the celebrity gossip and entertainment universe by storm.
Most folks assumed Davidson and Grande were moving way too quickly and that the relationship would eventually fizzle out and… well…
… that’s pretty much what has happened.
“It was way too much too soon,” a source close to Grande tells People Magazine. “It’s not shocking to anyone.”
This same source says the decision to go their separate ways was mutually agreed upon by both halves of the famous couple.
While the split doesn’t really come as a surprise to anyone at all, there hadn’t been any recent rumors of tension at least.
The latest chatter, in fact, has been centered around whether or not Grande was pregnant with Davidson’s child.
The comedian himself even joked about knocking Grande up just a few weeks ago, as he and Ariana were certainly very open about the seriousness of their relationship during the four months it lasted.
Alas, it is now over.
“It happened this weekend,” an insider tells Us Weekly, adding:
“They realized it happened too quick and too early. The wedding is off, but they’re working things out. They’re not officially done yet.”
It’s unclear what Grande will do with the $ 100,000 engagement ring Davidson gifted her; and it’s also unclear whether the traumatic death of Grande’s ex, Mac Miller, played any role in the demise of this romance.
Over the past several days, it’s been clear that Grande has been going through a lot.
The artist has been Tweeting a handful of personal messages and saying she needs a break from the public spotlight, asking at point:
“can i pls have one okay day. just one. pls.”
Twitter users, meanwhile, reacted in many different ways to the break-up.
Some were taken aback. Some were delighted. Others yawned over how clear it was to see it coming.
“am i surprised that pete and ariana broke up? no. but am i supposed to be happy about that? no. imagine how she is doing right now,” wrote one person, while another added:
“if you’re celebrating ariana and pete splitting, you don’t care about ariana’s happiness. Bye.”
Back on September 7, Miller died of a drug overdose.
He and Grande dated for about two years and didn’t split up all that long before Ariana got together with Davidson.
“Given the events of the past couple of years, Ariana is going to take some much needed time to heal and mend,” her team said in September.
“She will be staying close to home and using this period to spend time with her loved ones and work on new music without deadline. She thanks her fans for their understanding.”
This Saturday, Grande also canceled a scheduled performance, at F–k Cancer’s inaugural Barbara Berlanti Heroes fundraising gala, where her manager Scooter Braun’s wife Yael Cohen Braun received an honor for her work as co-founder of the group.
Said Braun in front of the crowd:
“One of the most amazing things about this organization is that they help people when they’re having the worst moments in their life, and they give sympathy and a calm nature to people in need in those moments.
“And you saw your invite, someone I’m very close to was supposed to come sing for you today, and because of things that she’s going through, she couldn’t be here today.
“And while I was frustrated, being the manager, my wife, being who she always is, just looked at me and she goes, ‘She needs this time."”
We continue to wish Ariana the best.
And now Davidson the best as well.

Big Brother Recap: The Surprise Eviction Divides the House
It was the end of the line for one houseguest on Wednesday’s special eviction episode of Big Brother.
The host once again introduced herself as “Julie Chen Moonves,” meaning she’s brushing off all of the controversy she stirred up on Thursday night.
When the episode kicked off, the houseguests looked genuinely blindsided when they were told eviction night was coming one night early.
“One should always expect the unexpected,” said Julie, who was clearly surprised the houseguests were not shocked.
We then got to learn about what happened over the past few days, and Sam was pissed to be put on the block for the fourth time.
“These people don’t want to hurt me,” she says. “They just want the money.”
While that made sense, Sam was adamant she wanted to win the “motherf—— veto.” Sam felt safe … for now.
In her mind, Tyler was going to keep her safe until final two, so she felt like JC would be the one heading out the door during the surprise episode.
Kaycee, Angela, and Tyler watched JC from the HOH room, and they could see that he was visibly defeated.
He was alone following Brett’s eviction and feels like he has no fight left in him.
JC used this to his advantage when he chatted with Tyler about being on the block.
“I need to remind you I’m your friend, not your pawn,” JC said, adding:
“If you win the veto and you pull me off, [Angela] has to put Kaycee.”
But this only further turned Tyler against him because he felt like JC was putting him in an impossible spot.
At the veto competition, Kaycee continued her winning streak, and Tyler continued to worry even after she decided against using the power.
“Dammit, I hate this game sometimes, man,” Tyler said to viewers. “I gotta do what I gotta do to win, but that means I have to backstab some of the best people.”
At the eviction, Sam was sent packing with a vote of 2-0, and she was surprised.
Upon exiting, she stayed classy and asked someone to deal with her belongings. In her chat with Julie, she never threw anyone under the bus, but she looked mad as hell.
Kaycee, Tyler, and JC competed in the “What The Bleep?” competition and it played out as follows:
- Round 1: JC & Tyler get a point
- Round 2: JC gets a point
- Round 3: No one gets a point
- Round 4: Everyone gets a point
- Round 5: Everyone gets a point
- Round 6: JC & Tyler get a point
- Round 7: JC & Tyler get a point
Oh yes, JC actually won a competition! Given that Tyler has been the one not keeping his word, it would make sense for him to be the target.
However, there’s still a veto to play. Will Kaycee win ANOTHER veto?
Who will go home?
We don’t have long to wait to find out because another episode airs tonight at 9/8c on CBS.

Eminem Drops Surprise Album; Internet Loses Its Mind
Guess who’s back. Back Again. Shady’s back.
Tell … well, actually you don’t need to tell anyone, because apparently, every single person on Twitter found out about Eminem’s new album while you were sleeping last night.
Yes, just four months after the release of his twelfth release, Revival, Eminem is back with another full-length album.
The rapper announced the surprise project at midnight on Friday with a tweet reading simply:
“Tried not 2 overthink this 1… enjoy.”
And with that Kamikaze was released unto the world, and the reaction from fans to everything from the album’s Beastie Boys-inspired cover art to its byzantine wordplay has been downright rapturous.
The 13-track collection comes on the heels of the prolific period in Eminem’s career.
He first announced his return to the hip-hop scene back in … with a blistering freestyle attacking Donald Trump that debuted at the BET Awards.
On Kamikaze, Em addresses the controversy over those verses and reveals that he was the subject of a Secret Sewrvice investigation:
“Sent the Secret Service to meet in person / To see if I really think of hurtin’ him / Or ask if I’m linked to terrorists,” he raps at tone point.
While Mr. Mathers was brutal in his initial assessment of Trump supporters, he now says he’s more likely to view them as victims, rather than villains:
“I empathize with the people this evil serpent sold the dream to that he’s deserted,” he raps.
Other targets who incur Em’s famous wrath over the course of the album include various “Lil” rappers (Xan, Pump, Yachty, et. al.)
The legendary emcee really brings the knives out when addressing feuds with Tyler, the Creator, Machine Gun Kelly and Joe Budden.
“I see why you called yourself a faggot, bitch,” Em says of Tyler, a line that’s sure to attract some serious criticism.
Elsewhere on the album, Slim Shady admits that he was unhappy with the lukewarm critical reception that greeted his last album.
Many fans see this new release as a sort of do-over, an attempt to make things right with fans who may have been disappointed by Revival.
Whatever the case, Em has proven that he’s still one of the most dynamic forces in hip-hop, becoming a worldwide trending topic on Twitter just minutes after releasing his latest.

Married at First Sight Recap: Surprise! I"m a Stalker!
The truth came out on Married at First Sight this week.
And now viewers are left to wonder:
Will Tristan Thompson bail out on his marriage to Mia Bally?
On last week’s installment of this controversial reality series, Mia claimed to Tristan (a different Tristan, mind you, not the loser who cheated on Khloe Kardashian) that she was in the dark about why she was stopped by authorities at the airport on the way to the couple’s honeymoon.
Three counts of alleged stalking and one count of alleged credit card fraud? Huh? What?!?
Mia played ignorant at first when confronted with these issues. She said it must have been a case of mistaken identity.
She told her new husband that she had no idea from where they came.
But Bally finally broke and came clean about her past on Tuesday evening.
“She does know the accuser, and they did have a brief relationship,” Thompson told the relationship experts that set the couple up initially, adding in a sit-down with them:
“And this is why she was embarrassed to tell me. And even though I appreciate her honesty, it still really hurt that it took her all week just to come clean and tell me.”
Well, yeah.
That’s some tough news to try and handle.
Bally, when discussing this topic with Dr. Jessica Griffin, tearfully explained her arrest was related to a man she “rebounded” with after her most recent breakup with an ex-boyfriend.
“It was wrong of me. I shouldn’t have done that,” she said of the relationship.
“I don’t have contact with that person, I don’t care to associate myself with that person at all. But I’m hoping it hasn’t ruined the chance for me and Tristan in the future.”
Why did Mia lie about her sordid past to Tristan? For “self-preservation,” she explained. Because she was scared and desperate, basically.
“I feel betrayed,” Thompson told Pastor Cal. “To me, marriage should be built on trust and honesty … but Mia’s been lying to me, and it’s hardly been a week.
“With that trust broken, I’m just not sure if I’m able to stay in this marriage.”
So… is this the end?
Is the romance over?
NOPE!
Tristan actially told Mia that he loved her — and then she revealed the two had sex even though she was previously reserved physically. But we guess guilt over took that heistance and… BAM!
“He’s my rock. I’ve been more physical than I would in any other relationship ever,” Mia said.
Elsewhere on this week’s episode…
… there was more sex talk.
You see, Danielle Bergman and Bobby Dodd haven’t had any real problems in their relationship to date.
They had great chemistry from the start, yet were waiting until the right time to have get it on in terms of intercourse.
“We’re just going to do what feels right,” Bobby said. “Sex should just happen.”
(Editor’s Note: So should love and marriage, but you realize you signed up for a program that thrusts two strangers into this legal union, right?)
Finally, however, Danielle chose to make the first move and simply make the pounding happen.
She explained that she usually isn’t so aggressive, but was SO attracted to Bobby that she stepped outside of her comfort zone. Bobby, in turn, remarked that he’s into spur of the moment romance, so this seemed to be his style.
“We freaking did it on the honeymoon,” Danielle blushed as she told the camera.
As for Dave Flaherty and Amber Martorana? They were’t doing very well.
It all started going badly when the former had a major meltdown at a salsa lesson. He was not into dancing said he wanted to “kill himself” during the lesson.
Yikes, right?
“My arms are going to start throwing punches … I’m f-cking done with this,” he said.
Amber wasn’t exactly into this reaction, but she did her best to remain calm and play it cool.
“Watching Dave overreact today, it’s hard for me to see. We’re supposed to be doing this to bond and have a good time, and I’m just feeling really uncomfortable,” she said.
Things managed to get worse from there.
At dinner, the couple brought up their religious values, always a touchy subject.
Dave is pretty darn religious, while Amber is far more secular.
She brought up her concerns when the topic arose, saying it was a “bigger issue” for Dave than her, and adding that many people who are religious are “hypocritical.”
Yikes again, right?
In response, he called her “judgmental.”
So… was this the end for this marriage?
NOPE!
Despite their differences and despite Dave’s disdain for salsa dancing, the couple remains committed. At least for now.

Couple Pops Surprise Proposals to Each Other at the Same Time: WATCH!
This may be the best thing that we"ve ever seen.
How many couples are so in tune that one knows when and where the other will propose?
These two took things one step further — both proposing to each other on the same spot, at the same time, without the other having any idea.
June is Pride Month, and there"s no better time to tell this heartwarming story!
Jessa Gillaspie and Becky McCabe went to the Memphis Zoo & Aquarium over Memorial Day weekend.
Uploading this amazing video that will make you believe in love again, Jessa writes:
"Becky McCabe and I got ENGAGED Friday night at Zoo Brew!!!!!!!"
She then reveals the long and short of it:
"I had no idea she planned to propose, and she had no idea I planned to propose to her!"
The results are truly beautiful.
Jessa continues to explain.
"We were both so surprised!!!!"
That is an understatement. They were visibly overwhelmed with emotion.
"We were surrounded by our friends and had the most amazing night."
We"re sure that they did!

This is so precious.

While Jessa seems confident and happy, Becky is visibly nervous, because she is about to propose at that exact moment.
When she starts talking to Jessa, Jessa is visibly overcome with emotion.
When Becky drops to one knee, Jessa can barely contain her excitement and also can no longer hold back.
In lieu of a more traditional verbal answer, she pulls out her own ring box.
She had been planning to propose to Becky at that spot during that visit.
After this touching video went viral, Jessa added a postscript.
"UPDATE: We had no idea this would blow up so quickly!"
Very few people expect things to go viral, especially when they"re just sharing a cute video with family and friends.
"But I can’t say I’m not thrilled, because all I’ve ever wanted was for Beck and the world to know how much l love her."
Awww!
"We are overwhelmed with all of the positive responses."
As they should be.
"Really, you guys have no idea how much that means to us!"
There are many places in American society where same-sex couples like Becky and Jessa are still afraid to walk hand in hand or exchange a kiss — things that couples of different genders take for granted.
Anti-LGBT violence continues to be a pernicious threat, especially when it is tacitly endorsed by those in power.
But seeing Becky and Jessa"s beautiful proposal video go viral is a reminder that things aren"t always as terrible as our newsfeeds would make it seem.
And they may just make some people believe in love again.
