90 Day Fiance: Scottie Deem Charged with Child Molestation

Angela and Michael are one of the new couples on 90 Day Fiance: Before The 90 Days. They’ve both raised a few eyebrows.

But while Angela Deem’s recent DUI arrest is troubling, her daughter has been indicted on charges that are infinitely more serious.

Scottie Deem, Angela’s adult daughter, has been indicted on 13 counts of child molestation.

Scottie Deem, 90 Day Fiance still

According to documents obtained by People, Scottie Deem was arrested on Sept. 27, 2017, in Hazlehurst, Georgia (yes, that’s how Hazlehurst is spelled).

She was charged with aggravated child molestation and aggravated sodomy.

According to the indictment, she was charged with 11 counts of child molestation, one count of aggravated child molestation, and one count of statutory rape.

These charges stem from alleged incidents that took place between July 1 and August 31 of 2017.

This is … grim and upsetting.

Scottie Deem selfie

On Sept. 28, 2017, Scottie was released on $ 38,700 bond just one day after her arrest, which tells you a lot about how seriously the justice system takes crimes against children.

For what it’s worth, she was instructed to avoid any contact with children and to also avoid any public areas where children are likely to be (so, playgrounds, for one thing).

Scottie is a mother herself (Angela is only 53, but actually has six grandchildren), so we assume that this condition of bond made things complicated for her family.

It was not until nearly one year later, on Sept. 12, 2018, after prosecutors had built their case, that Scottie was indicted on all 13 counts.

Court documents accuse her of performing acts upon an underage male victim, including sodomy, oral sex, and “an indicent act in the presence of” 5 children who were also underage.

The indictment suggests that her suspected victim is a boy of under 16, but his age — and of course, identity — remain unknown.

Though Scottie’s attorney has refrained from commenting, her next court date is Monday, October 1, and it is reported that she will plead not guilty.

Scottie has appeared multiple times during Angela’s story on 90 Day Fiance: Before The 90 Days, even though it is believed that she filmed these scenes following her arrest.

That may mean that Scottie’s family is either not fully aware of the charges against her, or doesn’t care. And some fans have questions for TLC, too.

90 Day Fiance is not the only show on which Angela and Scottie have appeared together.

Twice, the mother and daughter have appeared on Maury (of course) because, both times, Angela accused Scottie of having a different baby daddy for her young daughters.

“She’s a good woman; she ain’t a hooch,” Angela insisted on screen while also insisting that her daughter’s baby daddy was other than who she claimed.

Angela had strongly suggested that Scottie was sex-crazed, which at the time got laughs. It sounds a lot more serious in light of these charges.

For the record, on both Maury appearances, Scottie was vindicated by DNA, which showed that Terry was the baby daddy of her daughters.

Scottie Deem selfie

Scottie is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday at 9:30am.

Since she reportedly plans to enter a plea of not guilty, many are concerned that her alleged victim and perhaps other underaged individuals who were witnesses will be dragged through the agony of a trial.

TLC does not have a comment on Scottie’s arrest.

However, Scottie Deem will no longer appear on 90 Day Fiance: Before The 90 Days.

Corey Sligh, Ex-Young and the Restless Star, Convicted of Child Molestation

Corey Sligh, an actor who formerly worked as an extra on soap operas such as The Young and the Restless, All My Children and Days of Our Lives, has been found guilty of molesting a young girl in Georgia.

According to local news outlet The Cherokee Tribune, the 30-year old was found guilty on June 28 of inappropriately and illegally touching a child younger than 10 years old.

The actor and model also is also awaiting trial on similar case in Florida.

Bill Bishop, chief assistant state attorney for Okaloosa County in Florida, says Singh faces one count of lewd and lascivious molestation, which carries a sentence of 25 years to life in prison if convicted.

For the current conviction, however, Sligh faces five to 20 years behind bars.

No sentencing date has been set for him just yet.

Sligh was arrested in his hometown of Canton, Georgia in November of 2016.

At the time, he was charged with the two counts after the parents of a young girl reported to authorities that the actor allegedly touched their daughter and forced her to touch him inappropriately.

The alleged incident took place in March of that same year and was reported to the police in September.

It is unclear just how many times Sligh allegedly molested his victim in Georgia.

“Corey Sligh maintains his innocence,” his lawyer told E! News, adding:

“The jury found him not guilty on Count 1. The jury compromised to guilty on Count 2 after deliberating for days and requesting to be hung and released from service.”

The part-time actor recurred on the aforementioned dramas as a waiter and a bartender.

However, Sligh is also known for an unusual, violent incident that made him a victim back in November of 2014.

In this instance, Sligh claimed that he and his girlfriend were randomly attacked while delivering Thanksgiving meals, resulting in serious injurites and hospital trip for the star.

This is a photo he shared of himself afterward:

Weeks after his Georgia arrest, meanwhile, Sligh was arrested and charged with one count of lewd and lascivious molestation stemming from another incident involving another girl under the age of 10.

Florida Police said her mother told authorities that her child said Sligh touched her inappropriately and forced her to touch him while they were vacationing in Rosemary Beach.

It was basically the same actions he was accused of  in Georgia.

“There is an allegation in Florida by the same person alleging the same conduct,” his attorney explains.

“The Florida evidence was presented in the Georgia trial to further bolster the State’s case. Corey had 30-50 family and friend supporters in court every day during the trial.

We, including his wife, stand behind him still. We hope that Corey’s exemplary reputation and character prior to this allegation will be considered in sentencing.

“The conviction will be appealed regardless of sentence.”

We’ll update this gross story with more details as they come in.

Josh Duggar Talks Molestation Scandal: I Gave In To Temptation!

This month marks three years since the world learned that Josh Duggar molested five young girls – four of whom were his sisters – while still living with his parents, Jim Bob and Michelle.

Had these revelations come to light in 2018 instead of 2015, they would almost certainly would have brought about the end of the Duggars’ media empire.

As it is, however, the Duggars have been able to rebuild, and while they may never regain the popularity they enjoyed in their heyday, they’ve somehow managed to remain on television in spite of the shocking allegations against Josh and his parents.

Jim Bob and Michelle helped Josh avoid prosecution, and they certainly weren’t the only ones who were aware of his crimes for several years before they became public knowledge.

There were his victims, of course, and there were also several residents of Tontitown, Arkansas, including several city officials who are now being sued by Josh for releasing his police records to In Touch Weekly.

One judge has already ruled that the town was fully within its rights to comply with ITW’s Freedom of Information Act request.

The fact that journalists who requested the information didn’t meet with any pushback jibes with what we’ve been told about the Duggars’ reputation in Tontitown, where – one insider informs us – Josh will “always be known as ‘Josh the molester."”

Josh, of course, has yet to issue a public statement on the allegations against him.

After the molestation charges went public, Josh was caught trying to cheat on his wife with a fraudulent online dating profile.

He was sent to rehab for sex addiction in Illinois, and upon his return to Arkansas, he was essentially made to live in exile.

These days, Josh works on a used car lot owned by his parents, but he no longer resides in Tontitown, and he reportedly has little contact with his family.

But there’s still a considerable amount of interest in Josh’s crimes, primarily from those who are intent on seeing that the father of five gets held to task for his egregious misdeeds.

Josh will never be prosecuted for the charges against him due to the statute of limitations, but the effort to ensure he’s never permitted to forget about the suffering he inflicted on others remains constant.

In that spirit, ITW has published a forgotten excerpt from the Duggars’ 2014 family memoir, Growing Up Duggar.

“As I became a young man I was constantly tempted to have lots of wrong thoughts and often battled to keep my heart right,” Josh wrote in the book.

Needless to say, he was unable to resist those temptations.

Astonishingly, his lack of self-awareness gets even worse from there:

“One of the greatest things that helped me in my struggles was my parents’ commitment to accountability,” Josh writes.

“They were faithful to talk with each one of us children — if we were willing to share honestly and openly with them — to maintain a clear conscience.

“I learned quickly that great freedom can be achieved by accountability but that deep accountability requires humility and openness,” he added.

“I often had failures in my early teenage years but found that I had a clear conscience only when I was willing to confess my thoughts and temptations quickly to God and to my parents”

Yes, Josh wrote without irony about resisting temptation and the importance of accountability in his household.

He admits to giving in to temptation but says he was able to clear his conscience after confessing to his parents, which … well, frankly that confirms our worst fears about the things children are taught inside the Duggar household.

Josh Duggar: DEFEATED In Molestation Lawsuit!

It’s been three years since the world learned that Josh Duggar molested five young girls – four of whom were his sisters – while still living in his parents’ home.

As a result of the timing of the assaults and the fact that Josh was able to avoid prosecution with the help of his parents, many felt that Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar should be held accountable along with Josh.

If you’ve been following them closely over the years, you know that the Duggars are masters in the art of burying scandals (a skill they may have learned during Jim Bob’s time in the political arena), but the odds were certainly against them following the Josh revelation.

Even diehard fans were nauseated and quick to demand that 19 Kids and Counting be canceled by TLC.

But there were enough Duggar loyalists to give the family an outside chance at a comeback.

Jim Bob seized the opportunity by deflecting blame and practicing the art of distraction.

At his behest, two of Josh’s victims, Jill and Jessa Duggar, filed lawsuits against In Touch Weekly, as well as the officials who they feel were responsible for releasing Josh’s police records to the tabloid, and thus identifying them as victims.

(Jill and Jessa were not named in the documents, but they feel it wouldn’t be difficult for interested parties to deduce their identities.)

Shortly thereafter, Josh filed a lawsuit of his own, and his has even less of a chance of being successful.

Countless legal experts and attorneys have already weighed in, explaining that since Josh was well over the age of majority when the records were released, the police department was well within its rights to comply with the Freedom of Information Act request filed by In Touch.

Nevertheless, Josh continued to press on with his ill-fated legal quest.

As is the case pretty much any time a public figure files a lawsuit, Josh was clearly hoping that the defendants would publicly apologize, cut him a settlement check, and the whole matter would be resolved without anyone setting foot inside a courtroom.

Unfortunately for him, it now looks as though continuing with the suit will do nothing to clear his name and will instead dredge up the ugliest incident from his family’s past.

This week, Josh’s lawyers made a last ditch effort to convince lawyers representing Washington County and Springdale, Arkansas to file out of court.

It didn’t go well for Josh:

“Defendant Washington County denies each and every allegation of Plaintiff’s Complaint not specifically and expressly admitted herein,” reads the attorneys’ reply.

That’s basically legalese for “we’ll see you in court.”

Josh’s lawyers attempted to tug at the defendants’ heartstrings, claiming that the 30-year-old suffered “severe emotional distress, mental anguish and substantial loss of income” as a result of the released documents.

Unfortunately for the Duggars, Washington County and Springdale officials aren’t having it and continue to insist that Josh “has failed to state a claim upon which relief can be granted.”

Looks like the most interesting Duggar drama will soon be playing out not on TV but in the courtroom.

Josh Duggar to Police: Your Molestation Reports Humiliated Me!

Josh Duggar will soon be back in court.

Sadly, however, it’s not because he’s finally facing criminal charges for molesting five young girls, four of whom were forced to live under the same roof with him even after they were violated.

No, it seems Josh is once again suing the people who dared to expose his vile crimes to the public.

According to The Ashley’s Reality Roundup lawsuit against the City of Springdale (as well as Arkansas’ Washington County), arguing that they violated his rights when they released documents pertaining to his crimes to In Touch Weekly back in 2015.

Josh sued the police in his hometown last year and lost, but it seems he’s decided to give it another go.

If the idea of a sexual predator accusing other people of humiliation makes you want to hurl your phone or tablet across the room, take heart in knowing that Josh will almost certainly lose this lawsuit.

Better yet, he may cause even further embarrassment to his complicit parents

You might think it’s odd that Josh would once again dredge up the scandal that nearly destroyed his family just so that the court might award him some cash, but these days, it’s likely that Josh needs money more than he needs his Michelle and Jim Bob’s approval.

Sources say Josh lives in virtual exile these days, spending most of the toiling on a used car lot, and his Sundays worshipping at a different church than the rest of his family attends.

(And if you’re a longtime fan of the Duggar clan, we don’t need to tell you what a big deal that is!)

So what’s the basis for Josh’s claim that he’s the wronged party here?

Well, for starters, he infuriating argues in court documents that because he was still in his teens at the time of the assaults “not in possession of the full faculties of personal discretion and discernment typically available to an adult.”

He adds that the release of his police records caused “severe emotional distress, mental anguish and substantial loss of income.”

Josh was kicked off Counting On as a result of the scandal, so he might be able to make an argument for loss of income.

But he should still be counting his lucky stars,

After all, the emotional distress and mental anguish of going to prison and registering as a sex offender probably would’ve been even worse, right?

Nicole Eggert Details Scott Baio Molestation Claims to Megyn Kelly

Over the weekend, former Baywatch actress Nicole Eggert accused Scott Baio of having molested her, starting when she was 14.

As it turns out, Nicole had laid out her accusations for Dr. Oz, but Scott Baio"s team had managed to bury the episode, claiming that her story didn"t add up.

Nicole Eggert went on Megyn Kelly"s show to clear things up. You can watch that video below.

Nicole eggert and megyn kelly

Scott Baio seems to enjoy arguing that Nicole Eggert"s timeline doesn"t add up, so she starts off. She"s pretty specific, too.

"We started filming the show in September of "86, when I was 14. And he immediately took to me and befriended me and earned my trust."

That"s normally a great thing for castmates. Normally.

"And then he started expressing his love for me … sorry, I"m emotional … and talking about marriage in the future."

That"s … creepy.

Nicole eggert

"And then I was still 14, before my 15th birthday. We were at his house, in his car, in his garage."

This is when she says that it got physical.

"And he reached over and he penetrated me with a finger."

It was, allegedly, just the beginning.

"And that is when the sexual touching and abuse started, after that."

Nicole eggert on megyn kelly

Megyn Kelly then makes it clear that the age of consent in California is 18, and that it was, even back in the 1980s.

She later acknowledges that she knows that some people don"t care about that. And it"s true that some people find that particular law unjust (particularly when it impacts high school students dating each other).

But hopefully we can all agree that a 14 or 15 year old does not need to be engaging in anything sexual with someone over a decade their senior.

Megyn brings that up as a preface to asking, not whether Nicole "consented," but about how Nicole responded at the time.

As with any time that we"re talking about a teenager who was allegedly sexually abused by an adult, it"s a complicated topic.

Scott baio image

"I was very young," Nicole Eggert describes. "And it was shocking, a little. I had never experienced anything like that before, either."

It sounds like she"s describing the very first alleged time, in that garage.

"So he was playing on not only my emotions but my hormones and all of those things."

It is not uncommon for survivors of sexual abuse to feel complicated emotions, including guilt, because some of what happens to them felt good at the time. Even victims much younger than 14 have experienced that, and it does not make anything okay.

She describes how she says that Scott pushed her to remain silent.

"And the issue with him is that he was our boss. And he also was telling me: "You can"t tell anybody. This is illegal, I"ll go to jail. The show will be over. Everybody will be sued. You"ll be out of a job. You"ll be ruining everybody"s life."

Even on top of the horrifying age gap, that sounds like a frightening power dynamic.

Nicole eggert image

Megyn Kelly asks if it happened more than 10 times. Nicole Eggert says that it absolutely did.

"That happened quite often through the age of 16. … Probably once a week. And then, on set, there was a lot of groping, a lot of fondling, a lot of pulling me on his lap."

Creepy.

"You know, trying to sneak kisses in the back. Which other cast members saw."

Megyn Kelly acknowledges that one of Nicole Eggert"s former cast members confirmed that to her.

Nicole says that it mostly happened at Scott Baio"s house. But though she confided this situation to a few close friends at the time, she said that their reactions discouraged her from telling anyone else.

Scott baio rnc pic

Finally, you know how Scott Baio says that her timeline doesn"t match up? He says that Nicole was 18 when they had sex.

Well, he cites Nicole"s own words for that. As you"ll see in this video below, Nicole explains that she had at the time not been ready to expose Scott for what he had allegedly done to her.

Which, she says, is why she just had a playful interview, and only after the interview was done did she mention upsetting things to the man who had interviewed her. Things that never made it to air.

Megyn Kelly shows a statement from Nik Richie, in which he confirms that Nicole Eggert was emotionally distressed after the interview and had confided that things had been worse than she had stated.

All of that and more is here in this clip. We don"t say this often, but Megyn Kelly did a pretty good job with this interview.

Christopher Dionne, Former HGTV Star, Arrested for Child Molestation

Christopher Dionne, the former star of a pilot that once aired on HGTV, was arrested on Monday in Connecticut and charged with the sexual assault of a 10-year old.

According to various outlets, the 36-year old turned himself into authorities after an active arrest warrant had been issued in his name.

Dionne was charged with fourth-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a child; he was then released on $ 100,000 bond.

The ex-reality star was once at the center of HGTV’s Family Flip and is due back in court on February 14.

This is what we know at the moment, based on an arrest warrant application obtained and made public by People Magazine:

The alleged young victim told a social worker that Dionne touched her inappropriately while she was at a birthday party/sleepover hosted at Dionne’s residence in November.

This unnamed individual alleges Dionne woke her up around 1:30 a.m. and put his hand against her rear end, hiking up her pajamas to do so, as she lay on her stomach.

She claimed he proceeded to reach his hand under her bra and felt up her chest, even snapping a picture of her on his phone as she held her shirt up.

The accuser is a close friend of Dionne’s 10-year old daughter and says there were two incidents of this nature, several hours apart.

The aforementioned daughter and Dionne’s 14-year old son were allegedly in the room when this happened.

People goes on to write that Dionne reportedly asked if the 10-year-old wanted to see his penis, asking her:

“Are you a big girl or a little girl?” and telling her: “If you tell your mom, I’ll go to jail and (my daughter) won’t have a daddy.”

She claimed she refused his advances and he eventually went back to his bedroom.

This same girl says Dionne asked her weeks earlier if she wanted to kiss his genitals.

On November 27, after the second encounter allegedly took place, the girl’s mother contacted local police.

Three days later, cops visited Dionne’s home while he was off in California, filming a home remodeling series for A&E titled House Rescue.

Regarding the evening of the alleged molestation (November 25), Dionne’s wife told police that her husband had gone out with friends and was back in their bed by the time she woke up, around 5 or 6 a.m.

In Dionne’s initial statement to police, Dionne confessed to having an interaction with the girl during the sleepover.

He claims she placed her arm around his waist and rubbed his stomach; in turn, he told her this was “inappropriate” and only “big girl stuff.”

She then turned over and began to cry, Dionne alleges.

He says he rubbed her back and told her to go back to sleep before returning to his bedroom.

Dionne’s HGTV show, Family Flip, ran for just one episode back in 2015.

Said HGTV in a statement to People:

“The person you reference in your inquiry appeared in a pilot that premiered on our network more than 2-1/2 years ago.

“The pilot was not picked up for series and is no longer on our air.”

A&E, meanwhile, said in a statement of its own that they’ve suspended production on House Rescue in light of these allegations

Roy Moore: Alabama Senate Candidate Accused of Child Molestation

Former Alabama Supreme Court judge and current US Senate candidate Roy Moore has always been a controversial figure.

After all, this is a man whose homophobic, racist, and anti-Muslim views earned him a reputation as a bigot even by the standards of Alabama Republicans.

But despite being twice removed from the bench for ethical violations, Moore has risen through this party’s ranks to become a figure of national prominence.

In September, he defeated Trump-backed candidate Luther Strange in a run-off election and became the GOP’s nominee to fill the Senate seat vacated by Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

During his campaign, Moore brandished a gun onstage, blamed the Sandy Hook massacre on a lack of school prayer, and called for the impeachment of judges who have

Astonishingly, it seems these views have only served to increase Moore’s popularity with his base.

But now, the 70-year-old finds himself at the heart of a scandal that may cost him the support of even his most fervent supporters.

The Washington Post has interviewed four women who say they were subjected to unwanted sexual advances by Moore in the late 1970s and early 1980s, when he was in his thirties and they were in their teens.

Leigh Corfman tells the newspaper she was just 14 when Moore groped her and forced her to touch his genitals at his home in rural Alabama.

“I wanted it over with — I wanted out,” she remembers thinking.

“Please just get this over with. Whatever this is, just get it over.”

Three women have independently claimed that Moore kissed them, inappropriately touched them, and plied them with alcohol when they were between the ages of 15 and 17.

Moore has denied the allegations in a statement issued by his campaign team:

“These allegations are completely false and are a desperate political attack by the National Democrat Party and the Washington Post on this campaign,” the statement reads.

Adopting the favorite counter-argument of Trump-era Republicans, a rep for Moore added, “This garbage is the very definition of fake news.”

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and other prominent Republicans have stated that Moore should step aside if there’s any  truth to the allegations.

Others, however, have mounted absurd defenses of Moore, including Alabama state auditor Jim Ziegler, who went viral with this asinine argument:

“Take Joseph and Mary. Mary was a teenager and Joseph was an adult carpenter. They became parents of Jesus,” Ziegler told the Washington Examiner.

Currently, Moore has no plans to bring an end to his campaign.

He is set to face off against Democratic challenger Doug Jones in a special election on December 12.

Bryan Singer: Accused AGAIN of Molestation!

From the moment that Kevin Spacey’s most recent accuser went public, people familiar with Hollywood’s open secrets have been eagerly waiting for the other shoe to drop.

The other shoe, in this case, is Bryan Singer.

The same stories of sexual predation have followed these two around for the longest time. And now a new voice has come forward to accuse Bryan Singer.

In the late ’90s, three extras who were minors — at least one of them was only 14 — sued Bryan Singer.

They alleged that, in their role as extras on Apt Pupil, they were instructed to get fully naked for a shower scene.

Even though exactly no one should be telling minors to get naked so that they can be recorded in the shower, the suits were dismissed.

Fast-forward to 2014, and Bryan Singer was sued for allegedly molesting a teenager.

That teen, Michael Egan, later withdrew the suit.

Which didn’t stop another, anonymous minor from suing Bryan Singer during the same period.

Beyond that, rumors have long associated Bryan Singer and Kevin Spacey and their alleged taste in the same sorts of underage teens.

The two are known to be friends, having collaborated on many projects together — from successes like The Usual Suspects to infuriating disasters like Superman Returns.

Bryan Singer is perhaps best known for his films in the X-Men franchise, which has been a sore point for many people who love X-Men stories but don’t want to in any way support a known sexual predator.

All week, following Kevin Spacey’s new infamy, people have been vocally hoping that someone with firsthand knowledge will come forward and, despite all of the fear and obstacles, speak out about their experiences with Bryan Singer.

Hoping that maybe, among the chorus of #MeToo stories, people might actually listen this time.

A Twitter user using the handle @Justin_C_Smith tweeted on Wednesday, in a string of 14 tweets, accusing Bryan Singer.

“That same night, in response to all my questions, Bryan again asked to see my dick. I said no. He then asked to feel my ass. After hesitating, I relented, thinking he’d give it a quick squeeze. Nope. (8/14)”

Please don’t judge what a person agrees to in order to feel safe. And remember that an agreement to one thing is not the same as consenting to anything more.

“He quickly & very aggressively shoved his hand down my jeans & underwear and tried to shove his finger inside me. He had his other hand clamped on my shoulder so I couldn’t immediately move away. He penetrated me for a split second before I shoved him away (9/14)”

That is a description of some massively predatory behavior.

“I said no, that I just wanted to go home. He said fine, but I’d better not tell anyone because no one would believe me anyway. I absolutely believed this, so I never said anything until now. (11/14)”

We’re glad that Kevin got away, but it is tragic that this alleged event happened in the first place.

And, similarly, it’s horrible that threats that everyone will doubt the person are so rooted in reality. There are people who would rather believe anyone but the victims.

“I never went to any of Bryan Singers ‘private parties’, but I guarantee the stories of the young men who say they were raped are true. I witnessed the beginning of many of these nights. I wish I would’ve loudly objected to what I saw happening. (12/14)”

Though countless replies to his original threat of tweets are still visible on Twitter, Justin Smith’s actual Twitter account is now gone.

It is unclear whether Justin deleted his tweets himself — though, considering the vile trolls who have been harassing him with the usual evil things that people say to victims of sex abuse who come forward, that would be understandable.

It is also more than possible that Justin’s account was suspended by Twitter itself.

First of all, they may have considered Justin’s accusations a breach of their user agreement.

In light of the apparent attempt to silence Rose McGowan, we can understand that people would assume the worst.

But it may be that Justin Smith simply didn’t want to put up with the harassing tweets after having clearly endured so much.

If more people come forward with similar stories about Bryan Singer, something may happen. If not … he’ll probably get to keep making movies as if nothing had happened.

All sexual assaults are awful, particularly those against minors.

What adds to the horror of what Kevin Spacey and Bryan Singer are accused of having done is that targeting gay teens, especially those who are closeted, adds an additional layer of secrecy and shame.

Because of society’s negative stigma towards the gay community, gay victims of sexual violence are perhaps the least likely to come forward.

Anthony Rapp speaking out was a brave act, and even that took decades. And he has a career and isn’t in the closet.

Not every alleged victim can say the same, we’d wager.

Of course, even if another dozen people come forward to accuse Bryan Singer, he’ll probably just “go for treatment” like his good buddy Kevin Spacey.

If you’re rich enough, spending a week talking about your feelings is supposed to be the same thing as actual consequences.

Maybe the investigation into Harvey Weinstein will change that. We’ll see.

For now, all that people can do is come forward and speak the truth.

Kevin Spacey: Celebrities React to Molestation Accusation

On Sunday night, the world was stunned by accuations that screen icon Kevin Spacey had made sexual advances toward actor Anthony Rapp, who was just 14 at the time of the alleged incident.

Spacey issued a public apology in which he also came out as gay, a move that has only exacerbated the scandal.

Many feel the Oscar winner callously attempted to manipulate the conversation and re-focus the media"s attention on his sexual orientation.

Here are some of the most incendiary celebrity reactions to both the allegations against Spacey and the actor"s unexpected response:

1. Spacey Responds

Spacey issued a public response to Rapp’s accusation almost immediately. Unfortunately for the House of Cards star, many felt there was a deeply cynical motive behind his statement.

2. Spacey Misses the Point

“This story has encouraged me to address other things about my life,” Spacey wrote in a statement posted to social media. “As those closest to me know, in my life I have had romantic relationships with both men and women. I have loved and had romantic encounters with men throughout my life, and I choose now to live as a gay man.”

Josh Duggar: Suing Cops For Releasing Molestation Documents!

Back in May of 2015, the world was shocked to learn that beloved Duggar family of TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting had spent the better part of a decade concealing a terrible secret:

On more than one occasion, eldest son Josh Duggar molested five young girls, four of whom were his sisters.

Astonishingly, the bulk of the family’s outrage in the weeks after the revelation was directed not at Josh, but at the law enforcement officials and news media that unearthed his crimes.

Last month, we reported that victims Jill, Jessa, Jinger, and Joy-Anna Duggar are suing police releasing reports detailing Josh’s now-admitted molestation of his four siblings.

The siblings also plan to go after In Touch magazine, which was the first media outlet to publish those reports.

Experts have long predicted that the Duggars would make such a move in an effort to protect their family secrets from further encroachment, and the four women made it official when they filed suit in Springdale, Arkansas on May 18.

What was far less anticipated, however, was perpetrator Josh’s decision to follow his sisters’ lead and file a lawsuit of his own.

Yes, TMZ is reporting today that Josh is suing police and city officials for releasing documents pertaining to his child molestation case.

In a move that would almost be humorous if it weren’t so revolting, Josh is playing the victim and claiming that police traumatized him by allowing news of his sex crimes to go public.

Documents filed by his lawyers argue that Josh has been “victimized and forced to relieve the painful and difficult circumstances of a traumatic experience as a juvenile.”

Like his sisters, Josh is seeking damages from Springdale, Arkansas police, city and county prosecutors and the publishers of In Touch.

Unfortunately for Josh, he might end up dredging the whole hideous case back into the spotlight, only to have the plaintiffs get off on a technicality.

Josh’s lawyers are clinging to the argument that it was unlawful for police to release the documents because Josh was (just barely) a minor when the crimes were committed.

As city officials have pointed out in the past, however, he was not a minor when Springdale police complied with In Touch’s Freedom of Information Act request.

One would think that Josh would prefer be attempting to move on from all this ugliness rather than taking such a tremendous chance on a cash grab.

But then again, of all the things Josh Duggar has been accused of, being especially bright is not one of them.

Duggar Girls" Molestation Lawsuit Criticized By City Officials: Cash Grab Alert!!

As reported last week, four Duggar sisters are suing their hometown over the release of documents pertaining to the Josh Duggar molestation case.

Now, the Arkansas town is firing back.

Jill (Duggar) Dillard, Jessa (Duggar) Seewald, Jinger (Duggar) Vuolo and Joy-Anna Duggar all filed a lawsuit against the city of Springdale.

The Duggar girls are suing the police and city officials and In Touch Weekly magazine, as well, in regard to the release of this information.

According to the lawsuit, the Counting On stars claim that the city was wrong to release official documents that contained their statements.

Jinger, Joy-Anna, Jill and Jessa spoke to police back in 2006, when they were minors, about Josh molesting them years before that.

By releasing these docs to In Touch, which published the details, the four girls say the defendants exposed them on a global scale.

The City of Springdale sees this differently, however.

“The claims and allegations in this lawsuit are without merit and are false,” the statement reads in part, disputing the girl’s central point.

“[The lawsuit] claims that that the release of a heavily redacted police report pursuant to a Freedom of Information Act Request was somehow unlawful.”

“We are confident that the Federal Court will take the time to carefully hear the facts and arguments in this matter.”

“It is unfortunate that now, at this late date, the Plaintiffs have chosen to file a misguided lawsuit,” said the city in its response.

Springdale lamented the case being brought “against dedicated public servants and seeking damages from public tax dollars.”

Implicit here is the accusation that the Duggars are doing this two years after the scandal broke as a money-making endeavor.

The Duggar girls counter that they’re only taking legal action now in order to help prevent other child victims from such “reckless reporting.”

“This case is solely about protecting children who are victims of abuse,” Jill, Jessa, Jinger and Joy-Anna Duggar said in their statement.

“Revealing juvenile identities under these circumstances is unacceptable, and it’s against the law,” the four siblings added.

By suing, they hope that “media and custodians of public records who let these children down must be held accountable.”

“This case has vast implications for all our children. We hope that by bringing this case to the public’s attention, all children will be protected.”

They do have a point in one important sense:

While the police documents released were redacted to remove the victims’ names and other identifying information, as the city claims.

However, enough information was left in the documents that it was obvious that the victims in the case were Josh’s four younger sisters.

What’s the point of redacting anything then?

If the goal is to protect minors, but officials willingly disseminate information that fails to achieve this, there should be consequences.

This may well depend on whether they met that reasonable threshold. Jill tweeted a link to a story about the lawsuit, along with a message.

“We hope our lawsuit will send a clear message that releasing the names of juveniles is never OK,” the eldest of the four wrote.

Jill, Jessa, Jinger and Joy-Anna Duggar: Suing Cops For Releasing Josh Molestation Documents!

Four of Josh Duggar’s sisters are filing a lawsuit following the release of documents showing his molestation of the girls over a decade ago.

We’re surprised it took them two years to do so.

Jill, Jessa, Jinger and Joy-Anna Duggar are reportedly suing both city and police officials, along with a tabloid publisher, for damages.

They’re going after In Touch magazine for releasing investigative reports detailing Josh’s now-admitted molestation of his four siblings.

The quartet of Duggars filed the suit against the city of Springdale, Arkansas over the 2015 police documents with shocked the world.

Court papers state that they spoke to police in 2006 about the molestations, which occurred a few years prior, when they were all minors.

(Jill, 26, Jessa, 24, Jinger, 23, and Joy-Anna, 19, talked to police a decade ago, and were even younger still when they were abused.)

In coming forward to speak on the record, they were assured their statements would only be shared with police and child service officials.

Obviously, that was not the case.

According to court documents, celebrity gossip magazine In Touch filed a Freedom of Information Act request in 2015 to obtain the files.

In succeeding, the magazine published at least eight stories about the Josh Duggar investigation, blowing the lid off a massive scandal.

More significantly as it pertains to this legal case, rocking a family to its core, and victimizing the victims unnecessarily – and illegally.

The Duggar sisters’ lawsuit asserts that under Arkansas state law, the police are explicitly forbidden from disclosing any such information.

If that’s true, the girls could be due for a big time settlement – and again, we’re surprised it took them two years to pursue legal action.

Furthermore, they allege that the intense scrutiny of their family after the scandal blew up inflicted even more lasting damage on them.

That part could be tougher to prove from a legal standpoint, as the Duggars promoted themselves and their pious lifestyle relentlessly.

The carefully-fashioned self-image of a hard-working, old-fashioned, Christian family helped Jim Bob and company rake in millions.

Of course they’re under a microscope now, especially given Josh’s parents role in trying to handle the scandal “in house” for years.

It’s not only Josh’s actions, after all, but Jim Bob and Michelle’s means of addressing them that made the early 2015 story so explosive.

For the girls to say that such scrutiny of their lives is now unfair – or that the scandal is the reason for it – may be a legitimate gripe.

But is it grounds for a lawsuit? We’ll see what the city and state say about that (too bad they can’t list their parents as co-defendants).

In the months after the story, TLC canceled 19 Kids and Counting, and Josh was shipped off to a Christian labor camp sex rehab program.

(The quote-unquote family values lobbyist was also outed as cheater in the Ashley Madison hack, which did not help the family image.)

Somewhat incredibly, the network rebooted the popular reality show in late 2015 as the confusingly-titled Jill & Jessa: Counting On!

Now rebranded as Counting On, the series follows the four adult girls suing over the Josh story. Josh personally is persona non grata.

TLC has gone to hilarious lengths to keep him off TV, even as producers film major family events where he attends (see gallery below).

Reports of Josh Duggar’s return to Counting On this season have raised eyebrows, as he hasn’t been seen with his sisters in years.

Josh and his long-suffering wife who somehow didn’t pack her bags after this, Anna Duggar, are currently expecting their fifth child.

His relationship with anyone in the famous family not named Anna is the subject of great debate these days, though he’s still on the outs.

As you can see in the video above, time may heal all wounds, but we’re talking about serious emotional wounds and a LOT of time.

But why a lawsuit against the cops and the tabloid, and why now, if the family would like nothing more than for this to go away forever?

In a statement, the Duggar girls said that they’re only suing to protect all children who are victims of abuse from experiencing this fate.

Interestingly, his eldest sister Jana Duggar, 27, is not a part of this lawsuit; Josh molested five people, four sisters and a family babysitter.
