Christina El Moussa Lands New HGTV Show! Get the Details!
Christina El Moussa is coming to HGTV.
Again.
Just on her own this time.
Okay, sorry, allow us to explain…
Well over a year since she split from ex-husband Tarek El Moussa, yet continued to work alongside the father of her two kids on new episodes of Flip or Flop, Christina has finally landed her very own television show.
HGTV itself has confirmed the exciting news:
“Real estate and house flipping expert Christina El Moussa, best known from HGTV’s hit series ‘Flip or Flop,’ has signed a deal for a new original series with the network,” reads a press release from executives.
It adds:
“The eight-episode series titled Christina on the Coast will showcase Christina as she expands her design business in Southern California.”
This network statement goes on to explain the concept in more detail:
“In the series, Christina will transform clients’ outdated properties into high-end showplaces.
“It also will put the spotlight on her personal journey after her split with husband Tarek.
“As Christina searches for the perfect new home to start afresh while balancing parenthood, career and a new relationship, cameras will follow her.
“Christina on the Coast is set to premiere in 1Q 2019.”
Indeed, Tarek and Christina announced their divorce in December of 2016.
They are parents to a young daughter named Taylor and an even younger son named Brayden.
To the former couple’s credit, they have been very mature and amicable throughout their divorce process, never bad-mouthig each other and remaining prominent parts of their kids’ lives.
Christina, meanwhile, has enjoyed a few sort of high profile relationships and is now dating Ant Anstead.
They seem to be pretty serious.
The aforementioned press release notes that Tarek is “also in discussions to develop a potential new series” of his own.
HGTV hasn’t even discounted the possibility of yet another season of Flip or Flop, either.
“Design is my favorite part of the house-flipping process and I can’t wait to be able to now work directly with clients and create a space they’ve always dreamed of having,” says Christina, adding in her own statement:
“The past few years have brought a lot of change into my life and I am so excited to see what the next stage has in store for me both professionally and personally, there is so much to look forward to and this is only the beginning.”
Christina has made it clear for awhile that she’d love to anchor her own show.
She has also spoken candidly about her personal life.
So combining both of these things on one series makes perfect sense to us.
Just don’t expect anything on the personal side to include more children.
“I have two amazing kids,” Christina told In Touch last fall. “I’m done.”
What do you think?
Will you tune in for El Moussa’s new series?
Can you imagine watching her without Tarek?
Or have you been pining for ages now to watch her without Tarek?!?

Christopher Dionne, Former HGTV Star, Arrested for Child Molestation
Christopher Dionne, the former star of a pilot that once aired on HGTV, was arrested on Monday in Connecticut and charged with the sexual assault of a 10-year old.
According to various outlets, the 36-year old turned himself into authorities after an active arrest warrant had been issued in his name.
Dionne was charged with fourth-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a child; he was then released on $ 100,000 bond.
The ex-reality star was once at the center of HGTV’s Family Flip and is due back in court on February 14.
This is what we know at the moment, based on an arrest warrant application obtained and made public by People Magazine:
The alleged young victim told a social worker that Dionne touched her inappropriately while she was at a birthday party/sleepover hosted at Dionne’s residence in November.
This unnamed individual alleges Dionne woke her up around 1:30 a.m. and put his hand against her rear end, hiking up her pajamas to do so, as she lay on her stomach.
She claimed he proceeded to reach his hand under her bra and felt up her chest, even snapping a picture of her on his phone as she held her shirt up.
The accuser is a close friend of Dionne’s 10-year old daughter and says there were two incidents of this nature, several hours apart.
The aforementioned daughter and Dionne’s 14-year old son were allegedly in the room when this happened.
People goes on to write that Dionne reportedly asked if the 10-year-old wanted to see his penis, asking her:
“Are you a big girl or a little girl?” and telling her: “If you tell your mom, I’ll go to jail and (my daughter) won’t have a daddy.”
She claimed she refused his advances and he eventually went back to his bedroom.
This same girl says Dionne asked her weeks earlier if she wanted to kiss his genitals.
On November 27, after the second encounter allegedly took place, the girl’s mother contacted local police.
Three days later, cops visited Dionne’s home while he was off in California, filming a home remodeling series for A&E titled House Rescue.
Regarding the evening of the alleged molestation (November 25), Dionne’s wife told police that her husband had gone out with friends and was back in their bed by the time she woke up, around 5 or 6 a.m.
In Dionne’s initial statement to police, Dionne confessed to having an interaction with the girl during the sleepover.
He claims she placed her arm around his waist and rubbed his stomach; in turn, he told her this was “inappropriate” and only “big girl stuff.”
She then turned over and began to cry, Dionne alleges.
He says he rubbed her back and told her to go back to sleep before returning to his bedroom.
Dionne’s HGTV show, Family Flip, ran for just one episode back in 2015.
Said HGTV in a statement to People:
“The person you reference in your inquiry appeared in a pilot that premiered on our network more than 2-1/2 years ago.
“The pilot was not picked up for series and is no longer on our air.”
A&E, meanwhile, said in a statement of its own that they’ve suspended production on House Rescue in light of these allegations

Christina El Moussa"s Son Falls Into Pool, Child Protective Services Question HGTV Star
In a word? YIKES!
In another word? PHEW!
Earlier this week, the 20-month old son of HGTV stars Christina El Moussa and Tarek El Moussa took a frightening tumble.
While being watched by a nanny at Christina’s home, young Brayden fell into the family pool.
The nanny immediately jumped in after the toddler, but Christina decided to take her child to the hospital anyway, just to be sure everything truly was okay.
And it is, according to an E! News source who said on Tuesday night:
“Thankfully all is fine and Brayden is doing great.
“He’s his happy, healthy self and Christina was being overly cautious by taking him to the hospital to be checked out.”
Despite very little harm coming out of what was clearly a mistake, Child Protective Services actually questioned the Flip or Flop and the nanny at the hospital.
However, according to this same source, “CPS being called is part of protocol for water-related issues.”
About six weeks ago, meanwhile, Christina was actually criticized after sharing a photo (below) of her six-year old daughter, Taylor, some of Taylor’s friends and little Brayden playing in and around her above-ground pool.
A few critical Instagram followers called El Moussa out for taking this sort of risk.
“No one is a hater, but as a mother it is scary to have a toddler being that close to a pool!” wrote Instagram user luvmyhub3.
Christina shot back at the time with sarcasm and anger.
“OMG 1. It’s a beach entry if he fell in it’s only a foot high, he would be ok 2. It’s not his first time in or around the pool, but thanks for your “concern” aka judgment,” she wrote in March, concluding:
“AND most importantly I am right there and could be to him in 3 seconds SMH at this …..!!!!”
Fast forward to yesterday and it was the nanny who had to jump in and rescue Brayden in these three seconds.
But even Tarek El Moussa doesn’t see much of a concern over what transpired in his former backyard.
A rep for the reality star describes this accident as “a non-incident” to Radar Online, adding simply of the infant:
“He fell in the pool, and he went to the hospital as a precaution. Everything is fine.”
Christina had just returned from a trip to Santa Barbara (where she got a tattoo of her kids’ birthdays on her wrist) when Brayden took his tumble.
She has received flak in the past for posing with her daughter in a bikini, but overall, she and Tarek have maintained throughout their break-up that serving as responsible parents is all that matters to them.
“Our primary focus is and always will be our kids,” Christina told Good Morning America’s Michael Strahan in February, adding:
“We continue to work together and there’s a lot of false stories and a lot of hype, but, in the end, we’re just normal, nice people who just want to be the best parents.”
And Tarek echoed this sentiment when speaking the same week with The Today Show.
“The number one goal is to co-parent our children,” he said at the time. “We have to make sure we remain friendly because we know how important it is for them to have good parents.”
We’re just glad little Brayden is safe and sound.
That’s the important thing here.

Chip Gaines Calls for "Respect" Amidst HGTV Gay Scandal
Chip Gaines is choosing to remain chipper in the face of ongoing adversity.
The HGTV star, one half of the popular couple at the center of home renovation and design show Fixer Upper, found himself in all kinds of headlines last week…
… despite not actually doing or saying anything of note.
But Buzzfeed published a lengthy article that highlighted the pastor who leads the church in Texas often frequented by Chip, his wife Joanna and their children.
The feature piece went into depth regarding Jimmy Seibert, specifically two beliefs he holds when it comes to homosexuals:
- He does not support gay marriage.
- He thinks gay people can be converted into straight people.
Doe Chip and Joanna share these controversial beliefs?
Would a gay couple ever be featured on Fixer Upper?
How dare Buzzfeed run what basically amounted to a hit piece on Chip and Joanna simply based on the church they attend?
Many questions were asked in light of this article. Many sides were taken.
In response, HGTV issued a statement that read:
“We don’t discriminate against members of the LGBT community in any of our shows. HGTV is proud to have a crystal clear, consistent record of including people from all walks of life in its series.”
And it’s true: plenty of same-sex couples have been featured on such programs as Love It or List It and Property Brothers.
Chip and Joanna, meanwhile, have said next to nothing in reply to this scandal.
Some, however, have interpreted a couple Chip Tweets as confirmation that he agrees with his pastor’s stances in relation to the gay lifestyle.
“Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. DO EVERYTHING IN LOVE,” he wrote the day the Buzzfeed article went viral, later adding:
“U know.. even as all hell ‘appears’ to be breaking loose. All I have to do is look at my 4 precious babies sleeping, or kiss Jo good morning and at least at that moment, at my house, all is right with the world.”
These Tweets are obviously not an admission of any viewpoint.
But many are wondering why Chip would not simply come out and express his support for gay marriage if that, indeed, is what he believes.
(Others, conversely, are wondering why on earth Chip has to make this opinion public.)
On December 3, meanwhile, Gaines did directly address the Buzzfeed article that started this hullabaloo, along with one of that website’s writers.
And he did so in a broad, very positive manner.
“Regardless of our decision to make a statement about all this craziness, or not, I ask that people please! respect [BuzzFeed’s] @KateAurthur & [Cosmopolitan’s] @ginamei,” Gaines wrote.
That’s a very nice and reasonable sentiment.
The following morning, the reality stars headed to their controversial church for Sunday mass.
“In times of trouble … you’ll find the gaines family at church,” Chip wrote.
In June of last year, Seibert told churchgoers the following:
“God defined marriage, not you and I. God defined masculine and feminine, male and female, not you and I. Truth No. 1: Homosexuality is a sin. The lie: Homosexuality is not a sin.
A similar statement was shared on the nondenominational, evangelical church’s website.
Fixer Upper airs on HGTV Tuesdays at 9/8c.
Will your viewing of it depend on whether or not Chip and Joanna share this belief?

HGTV Responds to Fixer Upper Scandal, Accusations of Discrimination
HGTV has spoken out against accusations of discrimination against members of the gay, transgender and queer communities.
In no uncertain terms.
The network felt forced to issue a statement after Buzzfeed published an in-depth article this week that called out the pastor at the church attended by Chip and Joanna Gaines, the popular couple at the forefront of Fixer Upper.
The article delved into this pastor’s anti-gay marriage and anti-homosexual views.
There seems to be no doubt, based on his many quotes over the years, that Pastor Jimmy Seibert of the Antioch Community Church in Texas is against the institution of same-sex marriage.
He has also stated that he thinks nearly all homosexuals have been abused in some way and that it’s very possible to convert them into being straight.
These are controversial opinions, to be sure, but they are not positions publicly held by Chip or Joanna.
The couple has never spoken out on its religious beliefs. We have no idea what they think about these topics.
Should they really be shamed by association with their pastor?
Should viewers care what beliefs their favorite TV stars may possibly hold?
Buzzfeed has come under major fire for writing this article. By those on the far Right? Yes:
But also by those who support same-sex marriage:
An editorial in The Washington Post, linked to in the Tweet above, refers to Buzzfeed’s article as a “hit piece” and labeled it “dangerous” because it is an “elaborate,” 800-word post, entirely based on a “hypothetical question.”
Moreover, the newspaper describes the piece as a “deceitful, manipulative way to take down conservatives.”
Writes The Post in this op-ed:
It is no longer okay – indeed, it never was – to write cutesy articles shaming religious people as homophobic for simply being one of the many millions of Americans in 2016 who attend a religious congregation that does not support same-sex marriage.
So… what does BuzzFeed Editor-in-Chief Ben Smith have to say about all this?
He claimed on Twitter that the story wasn’t about Chip and Joanna, but rather about HGTV and its company policies.
“This is a story about a big company, HGTV, refusing to say whether they ban LGBT people from a TV show,” Smith Tweeted. “They should just answer the question.”
Many LGBT couples have appeared on such programs as Property Brothers and Love It or List It, but HGTV still came out last night and issued a statement on the controversy.
“We don’t discriminate against members of the LGBT community in any of our shows,” the statement read.
“HGTV is proud to have a crystal clear, consistent record of including people from all walks of life in its series.”
It’s true. It does.
Fox News has picked up and run with this story. It even interviewed Seibert on Thursday.
“People don’t know what the Bible says anymore on issues of sexuality,” he said.. “People don’t know what God says on homosexuality or any other issue.
“I felt the need to say we are all a mess – but the fixed points were set by God – not us. We are pro-helping people in their journey to find out who God is and who He has made them to be.”
That’s great? That’s discriminatory and offensive? That’s a viewpoint on homosexuality that you may react to however you see fit.
But we’re not sure what it has to do with Chip and Joanna Gaines of why a news/celebrity gossip/entertainment site would write a feature piece on a pastor.
Fixer Upper airs on HGTV on Tuesdays at 9/8c.
Will you still tune in to it?
