HGTV is the small screen destination for shows about flipping, flopping and many different kinds of home renovations.
But it"s also been the destination for quite a few scandals over the years.
From huge brawls to questions over the treatment of gay individuals, we run down controversial incidents that have plagued HGTV executives and stars below…
1. A Stunning Separation
Christina and Tarek El Moussa seemed like a happy couple, with two cute kids. But click on the above headline to read how an incident with a gun led to a separation, talk of sex with a nanny and A LOT more.
2. A Feud with Fixer Upper?
Chip and Joanna Gaines host Fixer Upper. Viewers adore this cute couple. But they came under fire after a Buzzfeed article pointed out that the series has not only never featured a gay couple, but that the pastor at the church these two attend is strongly against gay marriage and seems to think homosexuals can be made into heterosexuals.
3. More LGBT Trouble
In 2014, the network also pulled the plug on the program “Flip It Forward” in the middle of production after it was uncovered that the hosts, David and Jason Benham, were REALLY anti-gay. A video actually surfaced online of David talking about “homosexuality and its agenda that is attacking the nation,” as you can read more about by CLICKING THE ABOVE HEADLINE.
4. House Hunters is STAGED!
This is really not shocking. But, in 2012, one of the ex-home buyers featured on the program said her while experience was simply made by producers. Nothing we saw was real. In a statement addressing the controversy, the network even admitted to “managing certain production and time constraints.”
5. A Property Brothers BRAWL!
In 2016, Jonathan Scott – one handsome half of the sibling duo behind Property Brothers – was thrown out of a North Dakota bar in 2016 because he got into a fight with the bouncer when his drink was taken away at closing time.
6. Flip or Flop Stars Flop
More drama from Christina and Tarek El Moussa, on the professional front: According to many attendees for October 2016 classes from the couple on how to flip houses, the El Moussas did not show up in person, leading to the the classes quickly devolving into a sales pitch for other of the couple’s products.

Charlottesville Rocked by Protests, Deadly Terror Act
WARNING:
The following video is disturbing in nature.
It depicts an unknown assailant ramming two slow-moving cars through a group of protestors who had gathered in Charlottesville, Virginia to object to the recent words and actions of White Supremacists in the area.
After the car slams on the gas and plows other vehicles into this contingent of civilians, it hits reverse and speeds up in the opposite direction, hitting other individuals along the way.
At the moment, one person is reported dead and 19 injured as a result of this terrorist act.
Chaos has broken out in Charlottesville after modern day Nazis marched through the University of Virginia campus on Friday night, chanting epithets and yelling that "White Lives Matter."
They did so in response to the removal of a statue of late Civil War General Robert E. Lee.
The following morning, counter protestors took to the streets of this city, which is now under an official state of emergency, per Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe.
In response to the civil unrest, President Donald Trump said a bunch of meaningless cliches and refused to point any fingers at the White Nationalists for their points of view or their violent actions.
"We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence on many sides, on many sides," Trump said in a short statement from his private golf club in New Jersey.
He added:
"It has been going on for a long time in our country – not Donald Trump, not Barack Obama. It has been going on for a long, long time. It has no place in America."
The Commander-in-Chief did not mention White Supremacists or the the alt-right movement in his remarks, and later called for a "study" of the "situation."

27 Scandals That Rocked Reality TV
Just when you think it can"t get any worse than Kenya Moore going off on Porsha Williams, along comes Juan Pablo Galavis.
And then just when you think the lowest rung of the reality TV ladder has been reached due to the outright racism of the Big Brother 15 cast, along comes Teresa Giudice actually going to jail due to financial fraud.
And then just when you"re willing to write these examples off as exceptions and embrace reality television again, along comes Josh Duggar confessing to sexual molestation and… well…
… it doesn"t get any more grotesque than that.
Here is a look at 27 scandals that have absolutely rocked the world of reality television.
1. Josh Duggar Admits to Sexual Molestation
That title says it all, doesn’t it? In the spring of 2015, Josh Duggar of 19 Kids and Counting fame apologized for molesting multiple young girls when he was a teenager.
2. TLC Cancels Here Comes Honey Boo Boo
Give the network credit. It pulled the plug as soon as rumors spread of June Shannon dating her daughter’s former molester. EWWWWW!
3. Big Brother 15
Just the entire season, really. These homophobic and racist cast members caused us to lose faith in pretty much all of humanity.
4. Everyone Hates Juan Pablo Galavis
Juan Pablo Galavis was asked about a potentially gay Bachelor and responded: “I respect [gay people], but I honestly don’t think it is a good example for kids to watch that on TV.” He then went out and sounded like an even bigger moron during the actual season.
5. Duck Dynasty Debate
Phil Robertson also got in trouble for making homophobic remarks to GQ. He then issued a statement that read: “My mission today is to go forth and tell people about why I follow Christ and also what the bible teaches, and part of that teaching is that women and mean are meant to be together. However, I would never treat anyone with disrespect just because they are different from me.”
6. Jon and Kate Plus HATE
Jon and Kate Plus 8 was once a beloved show on TLC. Until it was revealed that Jon and Kate actually hated each other and were kind of terrible people.

Ariana Grande Concert Rocked by Explosion; At Least 20 Dead
Tragedy has struck an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England.
According to multiple news outlets, at least 20 people were killed and countless others injured after numerous loud bangs were heard Monday evening inside Manchester Arena.
Law enforcement sources in Great Britain and the United States have told NBC News they believe these sounds to have been explosions.
Shortly after reports started to leak out about what transpired or may have transpired at the concert, Greater Manchester Police confirmed there were a “number of fatalities and others injured.”
It remains unclear just how many people died from the explosions themselves and how many were killed as a result of the stampede that occurred after the blasts went off.
Those associated with the event tell TMZ they heard an explosion in the rotunda area (where merchandise is sold), which is located outside the seating area in the venue.
Immediately afterward, mass chaos ensued as everyone sprinted toward the nearest exit.
About two hours after outlets starting reporting on the horrible occurrence, police said they were treating it as a terrorist act.
There are reports the explosive device was a “nail bomb,” TMZ writes, which would explain why many victims at the scene were bleeding profusely.
“Ariana is okay,” a representative for the artist says. “We are further investigating what happened.”
Manchester Arena sits atop the Manchester Victoria transit station. As of this writing, all lines to Manchester Victoria were closed, National Rail says in a statement.
Northern Railway said the station had been evacuated and local police have issued the following statement:
“Emergency services are currently responding to reports of an explosion at Manchester Arena. There are a number of confirmed fatalities and others injured. Please avoid the area as first responders work tirelessly at the scene.
“Details of casualty bureau will follow as soon as possible.”
This is what a concert goer told The Daily Mail of what he witnessed after the first explosion went off:
“Everybody started screaming and running for the exit … We could hear the police and ambulance sirens. It was terrifying.
“There were thousands of people trying to get out at once. They were all screaming and crying. The whole place smelt smokey and burnt.”
Added another person in attendance, this time to The Manchester Evening News:
“We saw young girls with blood on them, everyone was screaming and people were running.”
Victoria Monét and Bia opened for Grande on Monday night and both artists are believed to be fine.
Grande’s tour was scheduled to continue at the O2 Arena in London on Thursday night, but it’s hard to believe this show will now take place.
Not that it matters at the moment, of course.
The Manchester Arena, which opened in 1995, can hold up to 21,000 spectators; it was not clear how many people were in the crowd for the concert.
But it is clear that this is a tragedy of massive proportions.

“The lights had come up everyone was just getting out and walking towards the stairs, when all of a sudden this huge sound which sounded like an explosion went off,” said another witness to the BBC, adding:
“Everyone just stopped and turned around, and then somebody shouted ‘it’s a bomb’ and everyone just started running. Everybody was trying to push people up the stairs.
“There was a lot of children there without parents. There was no one to calm them down so everyone was just screaming crying and pushing.”
How awful.
