Hart of Dixie: Canceled by The CW!

Hart of Dixie is officially dead.

Weeks after airing a season finale that most presumed would be a series finale, Hart of Dixie was finally given the actual network axe today by The CW.

One of the few CW shows to NOT focus on the supernatural, Hart of Dixie centered on Rachel Bilson as Dr. Zoe Hart.

A New York native, she took to a small town in Alabama that included such lovable residents as Scott Porter's lawyer, George; Wilson Bethel's bartender, Wade; and Jaime King's southern bell, Lemon.

Hart of Dixie enjoyed a loyal fan base, but low actual ratings.

Earlier this week, The CW renewed iZombie for Season 2, while it had already given the green light to new seasons of Arrow, The Flash, The Originals, The Vampire Diaries and Beauty and the Beast.

In related news... apparently Beauty and the Beast is still a show that's on television. Who knew?!?!?!?

The Colbert Report Does One Last Good Deed & Helps Fund South Carolina School Projects! Find Out How They Got The $800,000 HERE!

Sounds like Stephen Colbert found a way to squeeze out one final act of greatness from his former hit TV show, The Colbert Report.

Earlier this morning, Colbert, via a video feed from New York, made a surprise announcement at Alexander Elementary School in Greenville, SC, that he, partnered with Share Fair Nation and ScanSourse, are going to fund almost 1,000 projects listed on DonorsChoose.org. This includes more than 800 teachers across 375 schools totally approximately $ 800,000.

Colbert, who is a member of the DonorsChoose.org Board of Directors, was able to raise the funds for the South Carolina school projects by stripping his Colbert Report set and auctioning various parts off.

After the announcement, Damon Qualls, a teacher at Alexander Elementary, who happened to join Colbert for the surprise announcement in New York, said:

“I was completely shocked. This means so much to the teachers and students in South Carolina. What you’ve done by funding these projects will make such a difference in the classroom.”

We think this is such an incredible idea! Taking something as simple as selling pieces of your old set to help kids education and dreams come true! We can’t wait to see you succeed on The Late Night Show later this year, Stephen!

Lindsay Lohan: Racing to NYC to Finish Community Service!

No sleep ’til finishing community service in Brooklyn!

Lindsay Lohan is racing back to the Big Apple “immediately” to complete her court ordered hours and avoid another trip to jail, according to reports.

Think she'll be successful? With her history ...

According to Lindsay Lohan's community service record, she's finished only nine hours and 45 minutes of the remaining 125 HOURS required!!

That punishment stemmed from her 2013 reckless driving conviction, and she only has until May 28 to finish the rest, an L.A. County judge ordered.

“If she doesn’t complete it, then we will be asking for custody,” Melanie Skehar, a prosecutor with the Santa Monica City Attorney, said Thursday.

As in police custody. Imagine that ... someone in the Los Angeles actually wants Lindsay Lohan to be seen around them! Miracles do happen!

“We’ll ask that she serve the remainder in jail," Skehar added. "She’s had every chance. I honestly don’t see how she will get these hours done.”

Neither do we.

Lohan, 28, has been logging her time at the London-based charity Community Service Volunteers, but the agency recently moved its location.

Naturally, lawyer Shawn Holley used this an excuse, whining that Lohan would have to pay $ 76 an hour on a driver to get there ... while not working.

"So this has proved to be difficult for her," the lawyer explained in her bid to pull a rabbit out of her legal hat for LiLo for about the 1,235th time.

Lohan also has been stymied by a rule that says she can’t serve more than four hours at a time at CSV, Holley said, as if her client ever would.

Holley asked that the train wreck be allowed to serve longer shifts at a Brooklyn charity previously approved by the Santa Monica City Attorney.

The judge agreed to the longer shifts if they're served in Brooklyn but said the deadline for a "final status report" would remain set for May 28.

“She’s had three years to take care of this. If it’s not done by May 28, there will be consequences,” Judge Mark A. Young told Holley in court.

In other words ... 115 hours and 15 minutes to go, and under three weeks to get 'er done. We see another Lindsay Lohan mug shot in our future.

Z STAFF

EXCLUSIVE

0507-bb-king-getty-01B.B. King‘s daughter was distraught after a judge just rejected her attempt to take control over her father’s affairs … after she claimed the blues legend was being abused by his manager.

King’s longtime manager Laverne Toney marched into court with a stack of letters from doctors assuring hizzoner the singer was getting the best care, in stark contrast to daughter Karen Williams, who came in empty handed.

As TMZ previously reported … King’s other daughter Patty filed a police report for elder abuse and burglary, claiming Toney and her assistant had fleeced King’s bank account to the tune of $ 20-30 million and also withheld medication.

No word on whether Karen will continue her fight.
