Brian Williams has officially lost his coveted position as anchor of NBC Nightly News, and Lester Holt is his successor.

Williams — who is nearing the end of his 6 month suspension for lying about being shot at in a helicopter — was demoted to anchor of the struggling MSNBC cable channel, this according to NBC’s official announcement.

And this hurts … NBC says, “Williams will serve as a breaking news anchor for NBC News live special reports when Holt is not available.”

Williams will assume his new role when he comes back in August.

NFL's Clinton Portis -- I'M NOT BROKE ... Money Issues Stem from 'Bad Business Deal'

Z STAFF

EXCLUSIVE

0618-clinton-portis-GETTY-01Clinton Portis says he didn’t blow his entire NFL fortune — even though he reportedly owes more than $ 1 million to creditors — claiming his money issues stem from a bad business deal but he’s still “doing fine.”

The long story short … Portis says he’s still dealing with the financial fallout from a bad investment deal in 2008 … where he sank a ton of cash into a casino that ultimately went bankrupt.

Portis — along with several other former NFL players — later sued a financial adviser who allegedly duped them into investing in the first place.

“This been ongoing since 2011, 2012 … we just gotta go thru the court process,” Portis tells us. “There’s nothing else I can do. My lawyers are currently dealing with this.”

Portis continues … “At the time I was the biggest name and had the deepest pockets. Now, they’re trying to hold me solely responsible for what was a bad business deal involving a lot of different people.”

Now, Portis reportedly owes more than $ 1 million to various creditors — including $ 450k in taxes, $ 287k to the MGM Grand in Vegas and has other issues with real estate and car loans.

“My lawyers are on top of it,” Portis says … “I’m still eating. Look at my Instagram. I’m not starving. I’m gaining weight.”

“I’m doing fine. I’ll be okay.”

Emma Stone 'Cried For Like An Hour' After Her Email Leaked In The Sony Hack — Because She Responded By Doing This!

The Sony hack is still exposing the inner workings of a major studio — as well as the personal information of it’s high profile talent!

A few weeks ago, WikiLeaks exposed Emma Stone‘s cellphone number and email address, which unfortunately resulted in the actress making an irreversible mistake!

The Aloha star revealed that after her personal information was leaked, her quick response ended up being more damaging than precautionary. She said:

“I did one of the worst things ever, which was react really quickly. I was getting all these emails and texts from people I didn’t know — ‘Hi, I’m Joe from the U.K. I like your movies’ — and I was so overwhelmed that I went to my inbox and I deleted all my emails.”

The 26-year-old, who starred in nine Sony films over her career, acted impulsively in an act that couldn’t be undone. She continued:

“In about a 30-second span, I hit ‘Select All’ and ‘Delete Forever,’ and thousands of emails, like six years of emails, are now gone forever. I was just so freaked out that someone was in there.”

The Oscar nominee admitted that she received about five emails and five texts from strangers. Though she regrets deleting her emails permanently, as some held great sentimental value:

“It was horrible. I cried for like an hour. Most of the emails I’m mourning I can still talk to the person and get them back. But there’s others where the person is actually gone. It really sucks.”

We feel for you, Emma! Hopefully, this encourages others to act more gingerly when deleting personal messages!

Barack Obama Addresses "Heartbreaking " Charleston Shooting

President Barack Obama delivered an emotional speech today in response to the horrific Charleston shooting that took nine lives on Wednesday night.

With suspect Dylann Roof in custody, Obama said:

"Any death of this sort is a tragedy. Any shooting involving multiple victims is a tragedy.

"But there's something particularly heartbreaking about the death happening in a place in which we seek solace, and we seek peace, in a place of worship."

Joe Biden appeared alongside the President during his address, making his first public appearance since son Beau Biden died.

“I've had to make statements like this too many times,” Obama continued, bringing up the topic of gun control.

"At some point, we, as a country, will have to reckon with the fact that this type of mass violence doesn't happen in other countries…with this kind of frequency…

"At some point, it's going to be important for the American people to come to grips with it and for us to be able to shift how we think about gun violence collectively."
