Jon Stewart Delivers Emotional Speech About Charleston

By his own admission, Jon Stewart did not do his job on Thursday

The Daily Show host opened the latest installment of his Comedy Central program by telling the audience that he got caught in a "spiral."

He was too affected by the Charleston shooting that took nine lives earlier this week to sit around with his staff and write jokes.

“I honestly have nothing, other than sadness,” Stewart said, going on to talk about this “gaping racial wound” that “we pretend doesn’t exist.”

On Wednesday night, Dylann Roof allegedly sat inside a Charleston church for an hour before standing up and opening fire.

The killer murdered nine parishioners and reportedly told them he was doing so because they were "black."

Watch the entirety of Stewart's remarks above and then watch President Obama also address this utterly horrific situation.

Escaped New York Murderers Headed to Hollywood

Z STAFF

EXCLUSIVE

0618-escaped-convicts-movie-poster-FUN-ART-03Richard Matt and David Sweat, the two killers who escaped from a New York prison, are about to get the chance of a Lifetime … on TV.

Johnson Production Group — an entertainment company deep into the world of ‘Ripped from the Headlines’ TV — is going to film a show chronicling the escape, the manhunt and hopefully the capture from the vantage point of Joyce Mitchell, the woman who allegedly helped them bust out.

JPG honchos tell us, there’s a market for female crime thrillers and they reckon viewers are probably even more fascinated by Joyce than the killers themselves.

The production company is confident the show can make air within 5 months, and they can easily pivot as events warrant.

As for where it lands, JPG says they have a good relationship with Lifetime as well as online streaming networks like Hulu.

JPG has produced a slew of TV movies, including “Double Daddy” and “Teenage Bank Heist.”
