Taylor Swift Calls Out Kanye West for "Misogynistic" Message

Forget 1989, people.

It’s time to head back to 2009, apparently.

At his fashion show and album release party at Madison Square Garden on Thursday night, Kanye West released a series of new tracks, one of which referenced the time he interrupted Taylor Swift on stage at the MTV Video Music Awards.

Despite these two superstars having seemingly settled their beef ages ago, West raps in one of these new songs, “Famous”:

For all my Southside n—-s who will know me best/I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/Why, I made that bitch famous/God damn/I made that bitch famous.

Harsh words, no?

There had been a rumor that Kanye actually cleared this lyric with Swift before going public with it, but a spokesperson for Swift has made it very clear that this was not the case.

“Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single ‘Famous’ on her Twitter account,” the rep says, adding:

“She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, ‘I made that bitch famous."”

So there you have it.

Interestingly, Kanye also calls out Ray J and the Kim Kardashian sex tape in a new single, but he DID make a point of reaching out to Kim’s ex and making sure he was cool with this reference.

So why show Ray J, of all people, such respect and not Taylor Swift?

Who the heck knows?

But if Kanye’s goal was to make headlines and garner attention, we must admit:

He has accomplished that goal and then some.

How do you think Swift ought to react to Kanye’s very public diss?
