Scott Peterson Builds Prison Shrine to Murdered Wife

Back in 2002, the murder trial of Scott Peterson captivated millions and dominated tabloid headlines for several months.

As we approach the 15-year anniversary of the slaying of Laci Peterson and her unborn child, the case has seen a resurgence in public interest.

And many are finding themselves in the position of being newly disgusted by the man convicted of killing his pregnant wife in cold blood.

Peterson was convicted of murder in 2004, but his case is currently on appeal to the Supreme Court of California.

Legal experts say it’s unlikely that his conviction will be overturned.

Now, Radar Online has published a number of chilling new details about the San Quentin cell that’s served as Scott’s home for the past 13 years.

Sources tell the site that despite a mountain of evidence to the contrary, Scott still insists that he’s innocent of killing his wife and unborn son, Conner.

In fact, he keeps a photo of Laci in his cell as part of what insiders describe as a “shrine” devoted to the late teacher.

“I can’t believe Scott has the nerve to keep Laci’s picture in his prison cell after what he did to her. It’s appalling!” says one source.

“What’s even more disturbing is he refers to Laci as ‘my wife’ in the letters!”

Apparently, much of the outgoing correspondence the tipster refers to consists of letters addressed to female fans of Scott’s who remain convinced of his innocence.

It was on Christmas Eve of 2002 that Peterson called police in Modesto, California and reported his wife missing.

“I suspected Scott when I first met him,” says Allen Brocchini, a retired Modesto homicide detective who served as lead investigator on the case.

It wasn’t until four months later that the bodies of Laci and Conner Peterson were found near San Francisco, in an area where Scott had been fishing the night of the disappearance.

The case against Scott was virtually open-and-shut:

In addition to the wealth of physical evidence, police were able to prove Scott had been in contact with his mistress, Amber Frey, on the night of Laci’s murder.

Additionally, Peterson has dyed his hair and withdrew a large sum of cash, seemingly with the intention of fleeing the country.

Members of Laci’s family say they’ll never come to terms with Scott’s atrocities, but they hope that his execution will bring them a modicum of peace.
