Last week, Miley Cyrus was rocking her shortest hair yet, and it looked as though she was planning on sticking with the chopped-locks look for the foreseeable future.
So imagine our surprise when we made our daily visit to Miley's Instagram page (Don't judge us!) and we saw that the retired Twerk Queen was sporting her longest 'do since her Hannah Montana days.
Miley posted the above pic last night, and we were so distracted by her hair that we almost didn't even notice the cleavage that stops just short of her belly button. (Almost.)
Obviously, the hair is about as real and permanent as Miley's latest stint with sobriety, but it's certainly a lot longer!
The look is surprising not only because a short, Bieber-esque hairstyle has become a part of Miley's signature look, but also because of recent comments the singer made about her own style and sexuality.
Last week, Miley came out as genderqueer (maybe) in an interview with Out magazine. Over the weekend, she covered Joan Jett's "Androgynous" in a video for her Happy Hippie Foundation.
So is this Miley's way of saying that gender identity is often fluid and indefinable? That she can go the tomboy route one day, and sport a sexy, cleavagey look the next and it doesn't change anything about her identity or whom she chooses to love?
Maybe. Or maybe she just got stoned and decided to experiment with a new look. Either way, we dig it.
