The Blac Chyna-Rob Kardashian feud has moved way past the point of humor and mockery.
For several months, celebrity gossip fans treated this relationship like a relatively harmless car crash.
We couldn’t look away, but we also knew no serious damage was being done, not when the reality stars mostly just yelled at each other over text messages found on one another’s cell phones.
But that was then.
Now, Chyna and Kardashian are more akin to a fiery wreck from which one side openly wonders whether the other will survive.
On Monday morning, Blac Chyna was granted a restraining order against her former fiance.
We had been told a couple days ago that she had planned on seeking such a legal document from a judge in Los Angeles after Rob spent a bulk of last Wednesday positively trashing Chyna in a variety of ways.
After learning she had been sleeping with other men, Kardashian called Chyna out for being promiscuous.
He said he paid for all her plastic surgery procedures. He said she had a drinking and a drug use problem (see message below).
And he also shared a number of nude Blac Chyna photos, very possibly violating California’s revenge porn law in the process.
In response, Chyna claimed Rob had physically attacked her at some point in the past, a point Kardashian echoed and then turned around this week, alleging that Chyna choked him with an iPhone charger and beat him with a metal rod on the day she moved out in December.
Like we keep saying: ugly, ugly stuff all around.
After being granted her restraining order by a judge today, Chyna stood alongside attorney Lisa Bloom and briefly addressed the media.
She remained mostly quiet, humble and calm during the appearance.
“I would first and foremost like the thank the judge for granting me this restraining order to protect me, and I’m going to get back to co-parenting Dream,” Chyna said, prior to turning the microphone over to Bloom.
“I’m pleased to announce that in court this morning we had a complete and total victory,” said the lawyer, who has also represented such stars as Mischa Barton and Kathy Griffin.
“The judge gave us everything we asked for, which is a set of very strong and enforceable restraining orders against Rob Kardashian, restraining him from coming near her and restraining him from cyberbulling, restraining him from posting anything about her online of personal nature, including photos and videos.
“As we have said all along, revenge porn is a form of domestic abuse and is also a crime in California and 38 other states, and it’s a civil wrong.
“I have been very pleased to stand with Chyna and Walter on this important women’s rights issue.”
Chyna also now says Rob punched her this past April, knocking her to the ground and prompting her to run in fear to her bedroom, where Kardashian proceeded to punch a hole through the door to get at her.
She claims he’s in possession of a gun and, like Rob’s family members have also feared, she wonders whether he’ll turn it on himself or others as a result of mounting pressure and emotional distress.
Specifically, Chyna is concerned that this incident “will lead to increased irrational behavior and that he might harm her in his anger.”
TMZ writes that she is “terrified” of her ex and that he has threatened suicide in the past.
Rob, meanwhile, did not attend today’s hearing.
But his lawyer, Robert Shapiro, did speak out on his client’s behalf shortly after the temporary restraining order was awarded to Chyna.
“They are both working together to do what’s in the best interest of the child,” Shapiro said of Blac and Rob, adding:
“On Mr. Kardashian’s behalf, I’d like to apologize for the events that have taken place. Moving forward, the priority is the well-being of the child.”
At the time he was speaking, Rob was actually with little Dream, who is only seven months old and who hopefully will not be scarred by this experience.
Therefore, as worried as Chyna may be about Rob’s state of mind… she can’t be all that worried.
Kardashian has not said a word in public ever since his rant last week.
He was kicked off Instagram as a result of his inappropriate photo sharing and he last Tweeted at 3:01 p.m. PST on July 5.
We wouldn’t expect to hear very much from Rob at all in the near future, which is probably a good thing. The guy needs to take both a timeout and a long look in the mirror.
