O.J. Simpson may be released from prison this week.
As a result, the Juice is once again a national obsession … and rumors that he is Khloe Kardashian’s real father are surfacing once again.
The Kardashians have been subject to boatloads of crazy rumors over the years, but this one has had more staying power than most.
Many have debated who Khloe Kardashian’s real dad is for years, with Alex Roldan a common name thrown around … along with O.J.
The Simpson speculation dates back more than a decade, to the genesis of the Keeping Up with the Kardashians empire or even earlier.
It’s crazy to think about, but in a pre-Kim Kardashian sex tape world, Kris and Rob Kardashian Sr.’s ties to O.J. were their claim to fame.
Robert Kardashian represented the disgraced NFL star during his 1994 murder trial, to the dismay of Kris (who later became Kris Jenner).
Of course, there’s more to it than that.
The close Kardashian-Simpson relationship has been well documented over the years, and resulted in various pieces of family lore.
O.J. reportedly threatened to kill himself in Kim’s bedroom, and Kris’ closeness with Nicole Brown famously estranged her from Robert.
Yet talk of the accused killer’s affair with Kris and the subsequent paternity scandal has swirled in large part for a much simpler reason:
Khloe doesn’t look like her siblings.
We’re not hating, but it is true. The 33-year-old is the breakout star of Which of These Things is Not Like the Other: Kardashian Edition.
Moreover, in 2013, Rob Sr.’s second wife (after he divorced Kris) came forward and claimed that before he died, he revealed a bombshell:
Khloe was not his biological daughter, he said. Allegedly. Kardashian herself addressed this on Kocktails with Khloe last year.
“I think the thing that most became overwhelming was when, like, the stuff happened with one of my dad’s wives,” Khloe said.
“She wanted to come out, like, 10 years after my dad passed away and said I’m not his daughter and that he confided in her and blah-blah.”
“I was like, ‘Listen, you can talk about me and my sisters all you f–king want. Do not talk about my dad.’ He’s not here!”
The subject of Khloe’s paternity was even a storyline during Season 7 of Keeping Up … but the show is fake, so that didn’t quell any rumors.
Which brings us back to the O.J. as Khloe’s father thing.
In all likelihood, he is not the father. This is absurd.
There’s been a lot of talk over the years of O.J. boasting that it’s true, or wanting a DNA test, and so on. None of that has been confirmed.
Really, the only reason we’re talking about this classic, certainly bogus theory again is Simpson’s date with a Nevada parole board Thursday.
The 70-year-old is incarcerated at Nevada’s Lovelock Correctional Facility for robbing two memorabilia dealers in Las Vegas in 2007.
Prosecutors said he led a ragtag crew of armed goons to take part in an the ill-fated heist in which people were held against their will.
That formed the crux of the kidnapping charge against O.J., who claimed only went to retrieve family heirlooms stolen by a ex-manager.
Despite his protestations of innocence, and claims that he never saw a gun, the former Heisman winner star got 9-33 years in prison.
He has already served more eight-plus, and hopes the parole board will let him walk in October, on the short end of that long sentence.
One of his victims, collectibles dealer Alfred Beardsley, died in 2015. The other, Bruce Fromong, is expected to push for Simpson’s release.
