Kendall & Kylie Jenner: SLAMMED By Fans For Racial Insensitivity!

Kendall and Kylie Jenner don’t have the greatest track record when it comes to cultural sensitivity, or “wokeness,” in the parlance of our times.

In recent months, Kendall, in particular, has demonstrated a level ignorance that’s genuinely appalling for a wealthy, worldly, and relatively well-educated young woman such as herself.

The most obvious example is Kendall’s now-infamous Pepsi commercial, but it’s certainly not the only instance in which the model and her lip kit-peddling sister have demonstrated how out of touch they truly are?

Remember when Kendall and Kylie tried to sell t-shirts with the Notorious B.I.G.’s image on them without getting permission from his estate first?

These children of privilege really thought that 1. the world would be okay with them brazenly co-opting the likeness one of the most beloved rappers in history, and 2. they could do so without shelling out a dime to Biggie’s family.

It’s hard to wrap your head around that level of callousness.

And it’s equally hard to believe that Kendall and Kylie have apparently learned nothing from their past experiences with cultural appropriation.

That’s a photo of the “Lee Leather Clutch Bag” that the duo is currently selling as part of their fashion line.

As you can see, it’s modeled after a Chinese restaurant takeout container, and emblazoned with the words “KK Express.”

Not surprisingly, many fans and cultural commentators have taken issue with the item.

As pointed out by Teen Vogue, the sisters used a common Asian last name for the item and they seem to have no qualms about reducing an important aspect of Chinese-American culture to a marketable novelty.

To make matters worse, the sisters are also selling a $ 45 “Fortune Cookie Coin Purse” on their website.

The Jenners have yet to speak out on the matter, and when they do, they’ll likely explain that the items were misguided attempts to pay tribute to Asian-American culture.

And perhaps that excuse would fly … were it not for the fact that Kylie and Kendall have done this sort of thing so many times in the past.

Just last month, the Jenner sisters were forced to delete several Instagram posts amidst complaints that they had brazenly appopriated Chola culture.

With all of this happening on the heels of Kim Kardashian defending Jeffree Star’s racist comments, it seems that reality TV’s most famous family might be in need of some serious sensitivity training.
