Michael Fassbander & Alicia Vikander: Married!

We hope the world is ready for ridiculously photogenic babies because one of the most unfairly attractive couples in Hollywood has officially tied the knot.

People magazine is reporting today that Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander got married in Ibiza over the weekend.

You might know Fassbender from his roles in Inglourious Basterds, Prometheus, and the X-Men films.

And you may recognize Vikander from her acclaimed turns in Ex Machina and The Danish Girl.

They’re both have the kind of careers that would make them A-listers in any previous era, but because they have the misfortune of rising to fame at a time when everyone has 43,000 TV shows on their DVR, many of you might be having “oh, that guy/gal” reactions right now.

But we wouldn’t go wasting any pity on Michael or Alicia, what with both of them being wealthy, pretty people who recently reached an agreement to continue having sex with another wealthy, pretty person.

We’re just saying they probably deserve to be more famous than they are.

(Check out Ex Machina to see Vikander turn in a performance as a sexy robot that’s somehow not as corny as it sounds.)

Of course, Alicia was recently cast as Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider reboot, and since early buzz has it as the first non-terrible video game movie (sorry, 1995’s Mortal Kombat), A-list stardom might be just around the corner.

Anyway, there’s been no official announcement from Fassbender and Vikander just yet, but several media outlets are now confirming that they’ve tied the knot.

Sources say the notoriously private couple exchanged vows in front of family and friends at the picturesque La Granja farmstead resort.

The pair met while filming 2014’s The Light Between Oceans in 2014.

Interestingly, they didn’t make their debut as a couple until the 2016 Golden Globes, two years later.

(Like we said, they enjoy their privacy.)

That same year, Alicia took home the prize for Best Actress for her work in The Danish Girl.

(Like we said, she should really be more famous.)

We’d say we’ll have updates on this situation as more details become available, but … we can’t be sure more details will ever be available.

So we guess we’ll just offer these two our sincerest congrats.

As a belated wedding gift, we’ll stop prying into their lives. For now.
