Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s season of The Bachelor is building toward an epic conclusion – one The Bachelor spoilers have already spelled out.
If you haven’t read any Bachelor spoilers, well, you’re not gonna believe who we see Arie Luyendyk engaged to … or the aftermath.
For now, though, we’re sticking to the task at hand – recapping the latest and greatest moments of Arie’s debacle … sorry, journey.
On The Bachelor Season 22 Episode 6, the crew traveled to Paris and took a trip down the Seine River, and to the Moulin Rouge.
Most significantly, Krystal and Kendall were chosen for the dreaded two-on-one date, and let’s just say it lived up to expectations.
Krystal, who’s made a habit of rubbing people the wrong way and is seen as the season’s villain by many fans, came in confident.
Kendall had other ideas.
Arie also started to develop some more doubts of his own, regardless of his feelings for Kendall, about Krystal’s obvious insecurity.
Krystal, who already dug herself a deep hole with her shenanigans last week, implied that Arie wasn’t smart enough for Kendall.
Not usually a way to turn a guy on.
Then she turned the tables around and insinuated that Kendall wasn’t good enough for him because she wasn’t ready for marriage.
Basically, they would be a horrible match! What is she even doing on this date? Just give me the rose now, Arie! Now!!! Please?
The comment about Kendall’s readiness for marriage was particularly dubious, since it was based on zero knowledge whatsoever.
Whether she’s ready for that kind of commitment or not, Kendall certainly showed maturity beyond her years in how she handled Krystal.
Rather than rage, she reacted with compassionate advice; Krystal perceived this as patronizing, but that’s how bullies should be handled.
Anyway, Arie sent Krystal home. It had to be done.
In a sense, it seemed cruel to do this while Kendall was also present, but on the flip side, that likely helped guarantee his safety.
In other news, Arie told Lauren Burnham on an awkwardly quiet one-on-one date that he really “would love … for you to like me.”
Crickets.
Arie revealed for the first time that a previous girlfriend of his was pregnant with his child at one point but she suffered a miscarriage.
Lauren, meanwhile, was engaged to her last boyfriend. Heavy stuff, but the two forged a real connection and she took home the rose.
His other one-on-one date went to Jacqueline, who is apparently still on the show, and it was kind of a non-starter. Literally.
When he showed up for their date in a red convertible, the vehicle broke down before they even got out of the parking lot.
Rather amusing that the alleged race car driver couldn’t get it going, but hey, he’s a driver, not a mechanic, are we right?
The couple’s date went well at the end of the day; Arie can laugh at himself at least, and great memories can come from mishaps.
Jacqueline may be a bit late to the party as far as capturing Bachelor Nation’s attention, but she’s made it this far for a reason.
She could be a contender yet.
The big group date of the night was to the Moulin Rouge for a dance lesson involving obligatory ornate costumes and cattiness.
Plenty of awkwardness ensued.
America’s favorite marijuana farmer Bekah Martinez received the rose at this event, proving that she can clean up well!
At the stomach-churning rose ceremony, Arie sent Chelsea – the mysterious, maligned Maine mom – and Jenna home.
