Cuba Gooding Jr. is bringing his marriage to Sara Kapfer to a close.
The American Horror Story star has filed for divorce from Kapfer after 22 years of marriage.
Their parting of ways probably comes as no surprise when you consider the fact that they have been separated in April 2014.
The pair were apparently trying to keep things amicable in order to raise their 10-year-old daughter.
Cuba is allegedly asking for joint legal and physical custody of their daughter.
They have two other children together.
In addition to that, he’s willing to provide spousal support to Kapfer.
It’s unclear what signaled Cuba to go through with the divorce, but the pair could have moved on to new relationships in the years since their separation.
However, they have been keeping the details of their romantic lives private.
We’ll probably get more clarity on the matter down the line, but it’s pretty great the pair have remained amicable since their split.
At least the end of their marriage has not been soaked in controversy like most celebrity breakups.
Cuba and Sara met in high school, so they have spend much of their lives together.
Cuba opened up about his relationship on The Steve Harvey Show after fans were wondering about the state of his relationship.
“Officially I’m still married, it’s just you know how some marriages go. Sometimes you take a break or two. All I’m saying is my life is what it is right now,” he explained to Steve Harvey.
“I took her to see a movie the other day. We’ve got kids man, we’ve got to keep this together.”
Cuba may have disappeared for a few years, but he returned to the spotlight in a big way on FX’s The People v. O.J. Simpson, which was one of the most talked about shows of 2016.
