Sherri Papini Reveals Details of Kidnappers, Harrowing Ordeal
Sherri Papini, the mom who mysteriously vanished before being found beaten but alive, is offering more details of her harrowing ordeal.
All the while, skeptics continue to raise questions about it.
The resident of Redding, Calif., disappeared in early November before remarkably emerging along a rural road on Thanksgiving Day.
So what happened to her in the weeks in between?
Police say there is no evidence Sherri Papini is making this up or that this is a hoax, but the sheer improbability of her story is undeniable.
She told investigators that she was abducted, and one of her female assailants had long curly hair, thin eyebrows and pierced ears.
The other woman, who was older, had straight black hair with gray and thick eyebrows, and both of the women primarily spoke in Spanish.
That"s according to Papini"s personal recollection.
“There is a lot still unknown about her assailants,” said Shasta County Sheriff Tom Bosenko at a Wednesday afternoon press conference.
Bosenko said Papini’s alleged abductors sometimes covered her face and concealed their faces as well during her three-week ordeal.
“Sherry did her best in providing the descriptions but was not able to provide [details] because of the assailants covering their faces.”
Papini, the sheriff said, was “cooperative and courageous” during the “intense” interviews with officials probing the mysterious case.
She was allegedly kidnapped while out for a jog on November 2, only to be found 150 miles away just over three weeks after the fact.
Papini’s husband, Keith, described her horrific condition – covered in bruises, broken nose, even branding from brutal, repeated abuse.
He added that Papini weighed only 87 lbs., that her long hair was chopped off, and that she was thrown from a car with chains around her.
“We don’t know what the motive or the reason for the abduction was,” he says. “We don’t know if this was a targeted abduction."
"Or [if it was] a random abduction or [if] she was the target."
"We don’t have the reason as of yet of why she was abducted. We don’t have details on where she was being held during this period of time.”
One theory is that this may have been connected to a sex trafficking ring. For the latest on that hypothesis, check out the video below:
