Prince: Prescription Painkillers Found Nearby At Time of Death
There are several theories floating around as to how Prince died on April 21st.
The legendary singer was found unresponsive inside his Paisley Park, MI elevator, and an autopsy report confirms that no foul play had been involved.
However, a toxicology report will reveal the cause of death, but the results could take weeks.
There is a key new development in determining the cause of Prince’s death, according to NBC.
The county sheriff has enlisted the Drug Enforcement administration to help with the investigation, having discovered prescription painkillers in Prince’s possession when he died.
There is no official word on what part the meds played in Prince’s death, if at all.
The DEA will help figure out how Prince obtained the medication, and for what purpose(s).
People Magazine confirmed with sources that Prince “had a history” of using Percocet, a painkiller that combines acetaminophen and oxycodone.
The result is “severe euphoria” felt by the patient, which can be so addictive it can lead to overdose, and even death.
Other sources claim that Prince had been suffering from a mystery illness.
“The people close to him were very concerned for his health and indicated he’d been undergoing treatments which made his immune system weak,” a source told People last week.
Less than a week before his death, the singer’s plane made an emergency landing in Illinois, where he was given a “save shot” at a local hospital.
It’s a puzzling story without any explanation from Prince’s people.
Was he ill? How did his health deteriorate to the point where his plane had to land so that he could be “saved” at the nearest hospital?
Fans will have to wait for the toxicology report to find out how the seemingly healthy 57-year-old died so suddenly.
