The Today Show Shake-Up: Who May Be Out?

It’s not a fun time to be a morning show personality.

Over on ABC, reports indicate that Michael Strahan has created quite a bit of tension on set, with Lara Spencer especially unhappy over her reduced role now that the ex-NFL star is on board.

In the wake of this upheaval, chatter has turned to Good Morning America’s rival at NBC.

Many are wondering: What might Megyn Kelly’s arrival mean for Today Show staffers?

To kick off 2017, Kelly said goodbye to Fox News and hello to her new broadcast home.

Ever since committing to the network, however, Kelly has been careful not to reveal very much about when viewers will see her debut and in what fashion.

According to most reliable sources, Kelly will be given a five-days-a-week program that airs some time in the morning each day.

As a result, one of the hours of The Today Show will very likely be axed.

In late January, Tamron Hall left the program out of anger that she and Al Roker are presumably getting bumped to make room for Kelly.

So there’s already been a shake-up behind the scenes and in front of the camera… and insiders don’t expect things to calm down any time soon, either.

Kelly “wants to do a smart morning political show and wants to hire her own staff,” someone in the know tells Radar Online, explaining why this is a problem:

“But NBC [is] pushing for more of a daytime show with an audience like Phil Donahue under the Today umbrella and staff.”

Until these very important details get worked out, Kelly will reportedly begin her stint as an NBC employee by hosting a weekend show, prior to shifting to her regular weekday slot.

This doesn’t sit well with the woman who just left the network that made her rich and famous in order to get a fresh start and a new opportunity at NBC.

Megyn is pissed that she’s going to get a slow rollout starting with just a weekend show that no one care about,” Radar writes.

At this point, no one associated with Today is very happy.

They don’t know what the future will bring; whether Kelly will essentially take over completely or simply be dropped in amidst the staffers already in place.

“It is a mess and causing massive internal drama,” an insider tells Radar. “The staff at The Today show’s 9 and 10 am hour do not know if they should be looking for new jobs.”

Heck, even Kathie Lee and Hoda Kotb “have been kept in the dark about what is happening to their show and are livid,” the source says.

You’d think executives would at least be making it a priority to ensure Kelly is happy, but that simply hasn’t been the case, according to this article.

“She was promised firework and a huge advertising campaign around her debut,” the source says.

But now?

“It doesn’t even look like she will be getting a weekday show until the end of the year. They have managed to piss off everyone!”

Basketball Wives Cast Shake-Up: Who’s In?!?

VH1 is taking a shot with some new Basketball Wives cast members, scoring with a couple of women who have very famous baby daddies.

Prepare to see some fresh faces when this popular reality series returns in 2017. Much to the chagrin of Nick Young and Dwayne Wade.

Allow us to explain….

According to TMZ, producers are looking to crank up the drama on the program and have therefore agreed to deals with Keonna Green and Aja Metoyer.

Who are Keonna Green and Aja Metoyer?

The former is now the two-time father of Nick Young’s kids.

She slept with Young while he was still dating Iggy Azaela, got knocked up during this affair and gave birth to the occasional couple’s latest child in late October.

In July, Green explained how she and Young got caught up in various moments while caring for their first kid together then “it just happened.”

It, in this case, being the unprotected sex that produced a pregnancy.

“I didn’t feel guilty because I was in love with a man, and I’m pretty sure I’m not the only woman,” Green said this summer about whether she regretted her role in Young and Azaela’s break-up.

That did end up being the case, as it was later revealed that Young cheated on Azaela with numerous women.

Then there’s Aja Metoyer.

She slept with Wade while he was famously on a break from Gabrielle Union and also got pregnant in the process, giving birth three years ago to a very young man Xavier.

Union has said that Wade made her aware of this development prior to the famous couple getting back together and she has since welcomed Xavier into her life with open arms.

Oh, and Metoyer is also the mother of a child she had with actor Damon Wayans Jr.

Green and Metoyer will join Shaunie O’Neal (who also serves as a producer on the series), Tami Roman and Jackie Christie as main cast members on Season 6 of Basketball Wives.

But they aren’t the only new additions:

Evelyn Lozada is returning to the series!

A former Basketball Wife, Lozada – who you can see as a guest host on The Real next week – has been engaged to both Antoine Walker… married and then divorced from Chad Johnson… and then engaged to Carl Crawford.

Those are all former professional athletes.

She welcomed a son with Crawford in 2014.

VH1 is yet to announce a premiere date for Basketball Wives Season 6.

It’s also worth noting that very few of the women who appear on this show are actually wives of any kind.

But whatever, right? As long as they yell and scream and fight a lot…

RHOBH Cast Shake-Up: Who"s Getting Fired?

If you’re hating season six’s cast of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, then we have good news for you.

It appears that producers are thinking about replacing two cast members in order to bring in some fresh blood and newer, more interesting storylines.

“Producers are casting two more housewives,” a source told Radar Online.

The plan right now is to get “rid of Kathryn Edwards” and test out replacements.  Edwards only just joined the cast this season, and she’s kind of a pain in the ass.

This decision, we’re fine with.  We did not, however, see the next one coming…

Kyle Richards is also on the chopping block.

“The whole situation with the sibling drama between Kyle and Kim is getting old,” the source said of the Richard sisters (Kim isn’t a full-time cast member this season).

“That really is Kyle’s only storyline, so they may just invite Kim back.”

No decision has been made yet, though.

“They are taking it day by day because they don’t know how Kim is going to behave now that she’s taking care of herself,” the source explained. “But they are conflicted and not sure they want to explore her story again, either.”

It’s a dangerous game to play, especially because Kim “is known for always demanding more money.”

Producers “aren’t playing that game” anymore, because it’s a huge hassle, and a new face will hopefully change things.

“They are going to have an extra new cast member on hand to replace anyone who isn’t working out,” the source added.
