Brad Pitt filed new court documents on Wednesday in which he laid into estranged wife Angelina Jolie for the way she has treated the couple’s six children over the years.
This is an interesting twist in the unfortunate custody battle because Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt, supposedly, because she believes he’s a bad father.
So, how has Pitt now fired back?
On behalf of his famous client, lawyer Lance Spiegel filed the aforementioned papers in order to have custody documents sealed, following Pitt’s emergency hearing on the topic was denied by a judge on December 7.
The documents have been obtained by Entertainment Tonight and other outlets and they include pointed criticism of Jolie by Pitt.
For example, the handsome actor lays into Jolie for disregarding their children’s “privacy rights when she believes it may benefit her,” while also claiming that she “exposed the children by making public the names of their therapist and other mental health professionals.”
Ouch.
Damn.
These are pretty harsh accusations.
Pitt is saying that Jolie would sometimes exploit her kids for her own professional or personal benefits.
Might these actions be revenge by Pitt against a woman who has allegedly banned him from seeing any of his sons or daughters on Christmas?
Here’s a look at further insults thrown about in the court documents:
Jolie “apparently has no self-regulation mechanism to preclude sensitive information from being placed in the public record,” the documents state.
They also alleged the following.
“Or she has other motives pursuant to which she seeks to disseminate information in this proceeding which will be immediately made public, where the children can access it or where people in the general public will have access to it for their own uses.”
In general, Pitt is trying to keep the lives of his kids as private as possible.
He clams Jolie has publicized various tidbits about Maddox, Vivienne and company when she thought it would help her most; either her career or her fight against Pitt.
Back on September 15, Pitt got into a heated confrontation with his 15-year old so on board a private plan.
There’s no debate that he was drunk and that he yelled at Maddox, but Pitt was also accused of physically harming the teenager.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation was even brought in to investigate, but they cleared Pitt of all charges.
On December 2, Jolie was granted physical custody of the kids. For the time being, at least.
Court documents filed earlier this month said that Pitt and Jolie have failed at coming up with their own custody schedule for their children – Maddox, 15, Pax, 13, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 8 – and also state that the female star publicly filed court papers on her and Pitt’s temporary custody agreement from October without Pitt’s knowledge.
This is all turning very ugly.
Pitt has been ordered to to participate in random drug and alcohol testing if he wants to remain a part of his children’s lives.
He must also attend weekly individual and group therapy, while it remains unclear whether or not he’ll spend time with the young ones this holiday season.
“If a child says they don’t want to see Brad on Christmas, the psychiatrist isn’t going to force them,” a source tells ET. “That’s the whole purpose of this agreement.”
It’s very sad to see that Brangelina has come to this.
But a recent report claims the pair had basically been over for YEARS.
