Sofia Vergara"s Wedding Dress: All The Details!!!
By now, the interweb has seen most or all of the glorious Instagrams from Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello’s Palm Beach wedding.
A collective *gasp* rang out as Vergara showed off her custom-made Zuhair Murad gown, the details of which the designer himself shared with Vogue.
As with any couture piece, the amount of man hours (1657, to be exact) and features that went into the construction of Vergara’s gown was extensive:
- Around 11 pounds of sequins
- Roughly 6.6 pounds of pearls
- 350 crystals
- 32 atelier employees working on the gown
“She’s very much in control of her image. She knows how to dress for her figure, choosing the designs that enhance her hourglass shape and show her marvelous curves,” Murad told Vogue.
“But at the same time there is the removable outerskirt so later on she can remove the ball gown skirt. We wanted something very spectacular and grandiose.”
Nailed it.
Meeting up to construct the masterpiece wasn’t even an option, given both Vergara and Murad’s hectic schedules.
“We worked very closely on a daily basis for the realization of the gown, from the early stages, like the sketches, to embroidery samples, the fitting—everything was done in collaboration with both my team and her team,” Murad explained.
“We spoke over the phone several times, and she explained to me what she likes and what she was dreaming about.
“I know very well her style, and so I wanted something very special, very sexy, and at the same time very classic, because it’s a wedding gown.”
Celebrity party planner Mindy Weiss was behind the extravagant weekend, which took place at The Breakers in Palm Beach.
Over 400 guests, including Reese Witherspoon, Harvey Weinstein and Georgina Chapman, Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum and Vergara’s Modern Family cast mates were part of the celebration.
