Beyonce & Rita Ora Squash "Becky" Rumors With MET Gala Selfie

Attention, everyone: We have official word from the Queen Bey herself that despite rumors to the contrary, Rita Ora is not “Becky with the good hair.”

All Hive members are to retract their stingers and cease their endless social media attacks against Ms. Ora immediately.

Both women attended the 2016 MET Gala last night, where they posed for the above selfie that was later posted on Snapchat by Ora.

In case anyone was unclear about the closeness of the Bey and Rita’s friendship, Ora slapped a big “Family” label on the pic.

In case you somehow missed it, Beyonce’s latest release, Lemonade, hinted that her husband, rapper Jay Z, was cheating on her with a woman cryptically referred to as “Becky with the good hair.”

Ora has previously denied the rumors via social media:

“I never usually address tabloid gossip but let me be clear, these rumours are false,” the British singer wrote on Twitter last week.

“I have nothing but the utmost respect for Beyonce. Let’s continue enjoying Lemonade.”

Rita attended last night’s Gala as a guest of fashion designer Vera Wang.

Tellingly, Bey rolled solo, her famous husband curiously not by her side on the red carpet.

Rachel Roy, a designer who’s also been accused of Beckying with Bey’s man was also not in attendance.

It’s not terribly surprising that the event might be a favorite of the Carters’.

It was at a 2014 MET Gala after-party that Beyonce’s sister, Solange Knowles, physically attacked Jay Z, thus giving rise to rumors that the rapper had been unfaithful to his wife.

If Jay and Roy had both attended last night, the drama might have been even more ridiculous than the clothing.

Emma Watston Wears MET Gala Dress Made of WHAT?!?

The theme of the 2016 MET Gala was “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology.”

As you can see below, for most stars on the red carpet, this meant they dressed like some kind of weird robot.

But not Emma Watson.

Not someone who has attended Brown University and who has made it clear over the years that her focus is so far beyond the mere world of movie making.

(Case in inspiring point.)

How did Watson respond to the MET Gala them?

By using it as an opportunity to highlight the amazing advancements in eco fashion.

Upon first glance, the actress is simply wearing an elegant monochrome Calvin Klein dress, right? One replete with an Old Hollywood full skirt, a fitted bodice and off-the-shoulder sleeves?

Yes. But look closer.

Watson’s MET Gala ensemble was actually made from recycled plastic bottles.

Wrote Watson’s stylist, Sarah Slutsky, by way of explanation on Instagram:

“Tonight, the stunning Emma on the red carpet at the Met Ball in a look crafted by the incredible team at Calvin Klein.

“With the help of Eco Age this five piece look is created from three fabrics woven from yarns all made from recycled plastic bottles.”

Seriously, how cool is that?!?

No wonder Watson earned a spot on our Best Dressed list:

Added Slutsky:

“Plastic is one of the biggest pollutants – being able to turn this waste into a high quality material is a real success story.

“Also this beautiful look was designed with the intention to be re-purposed for future use; the pants can be worn on their own, the train can be used for another red carpet – the ultimate #30Wears!”

We really didn’t need another reason to admire and adore Emma Watson.

But now we have one.

“We loved working with the team at Calvin Klein to create a look that is truly a perfect marriage of ethics and aesthetics,” Eco Age wrote on Instagram of the look.

“The body of the look is crafted from three different fabrics all woven from yarns made from recycled plastic bottles, the zippers are made from recycled materials and the inner bustier has been created using organic cotton.”

Here’s another image of Watson in her eco-friendly gown:

Afeni Shakur Dies; Mother of Rapper Tupac Was 69

Afeni Shakur, the mother of the late rapper Tupac Shakur has passed away at the age of 69.

According to TMZ the Marin County Sheriff’s Department responded to a cardiac arrest call at Shakur’s Sausalito, California home late last night.

She was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead less than an hour later.

No official cause of death has been reported, but it is believed that Shakur died from a heart attack.

Though best known as the mother of one of the hip hop world’s most iconic rappers and the subject of his most touching song, Shakur was a noted activist and philanthropist who worked tirelessly to improve the conditions of the urban poor until her final days.

After a troubled childhood, during which she witnessed her father abusing her mother and fell into hard drug use, Shakur joined the emerging Black Panther movement in 1964 after meeting an associate of Malcolm X.

“They took my rage and channeled it,” she later said about her time with the Panthers.

“They educated my mind and gave me direction.”

Shakur and several other Panthers were arrested in 1969 on charges of conspiracy to bomb several police stations and department stores.

She was released on bail – during which time she conceived Tupac – but was shortly thereafter returned to jail to await trial.

Despite the objections of her codefendants, Shakur chose to represent herself in the now-famous Panther 21 trial.

To the surprise of many who watched the proceedings closely, Shakur conducted herself like a seasoned defense attorney, and her fierce intellect helped her to win her freedom in 1971.

Though she fell into the grips of crack cocaine addiction in the early 1980s, Afeni said she always put her children’s needs ahead of her own.

In 1984, she relocated her family to Baltimore.

There, she enrolled Tupac in the performing arts school where he would discover his love for music and acting.

Following Tupac’s tragic death in 1996 she set up the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation, which continues to provide art education for at-risk young people.

Beyonce: Did She Wear "Becky"s Skin" to Met Ball?!?!

Bless the internet.

Last night, Beyonce stepped on to the red carpet at the 2016 Costume Institute Gala in a very shiny, very skin-toned custom latex Givenchy gown, embellished with all sorts of sparkly nonsense.

OR SO WE THOUGHT.

The interweb immediately got to work on jovial comparisons to skin (in scientific terms, specifically, harking back to high school biology class).

Then things got real when someone suggested that the singer was wearing the skin of “Becky.”

You remember Becky, don’t you?

She’s the chick “with the good hair” Beyonce referenced on her new album, Lemonade, who allegedly fooled around with Bey’s husband, Jay-Z.

We’ve wondered who the hell “Becky” could be: Rachel Roy? Rita Ora?

Both women vehemently deny any connection to the lyric, but that doesn’t matter anymore, because last night, Beyonce wore Becky’s skin.

Good God in heaven.  Those aren’t pearls, they’re Becky’s teeth!

Bey accessorized her victorious gown with over one hundred carats of light pink and nude diamonds by jeweler Lorraine Schwartz.

You know, to complement Becky’s teeth.

Inside the ball, Beyonce took a Snapchat with Ora (dress in Vera Wang), which the British singer captioned “#Family.”

PS – Roy did not attend last night’s Met ball, but her reps did not specify why.
