Disney Alligator Attack: 911 Call Released

New details about the drowning of a Nebraska toddler at Walt Disney World have emerged.

People Magazine obtained the 911 call placed on the evening of June 14th, after two-year-old Lane Graves was dragged into the man-made Seven Seas Lagoon by an alligator.

The person who placed the call originally thought Graves drowned on his own.

“Please come to the Grand Coridi-Floridian please. Someone drowned in the – in the – Seven Seas Lagoon … Lake,” the caller explained, though the operator had a hard time understanding what happened.

“They’re in – at the pool?” the dispatcher asked.

“No. Lake,” the caller said.

“In the lake?”

“Yes.”

“You said they drowned there?” the operator asked.

“Um, someone drowned there – I just stayed in the pool. Please come to the Grand Floridian,” the caller explained from a landline that was at one of the resort’s pools.

The dispatcher, according to People, asked the caller to hang up and call from a cell phone so that they could get closer to the scene on the beach and describe in better detail what had happened.

Authorities explained that two 911 calls related to the accident were place; the first one came from the lifeguard who was immediately notified by witnesses on the scene that Graves was dragged into the lake.

Each lifeguard stand at Walt Disney World pools (in resorts and at water parks) has the capability to automatically dial 911 if the lifeguard leaves to rescue someone.

That way, authorities are aware of an emergency without having to speak directly to the lifeguard.

Reedy Creek Fire Department spokesman Bo Jones told ABC News that the second call (the one with more detail) came from a staff member at the Grand Floridian Hotel.  That person’s identity has not yet been revealed.

Updated signage and barricades have been installed on all Disney beaches to indicate the danger of alligators and snakes in the area.  The theme park is located in central Florida, which is essentially swampland.

“We continue to evaluate processes and procedures for our entire property, an, as part of this, we are reinforcing training with our cast for reporting sightings and interactions with wildlife and are expanding our communication to guests on this topic.”

“DANGER. ALLIGATORS AND SNAKES IN AREA. STAY AWAY FROM THE WATER. DO NOT FEED THE WILDLIFE,” the new signs clearly state.

This is in stark contrast to the old signs, which simply stated “NO SWIMMING.”

Graves was wading in the shallow of the lagoon during the resort’s movie night around 9:30 pm.

According to wildlife experts, an alligator was feeding and may have noticed motion on the bank.  The alligator, it’s believed, mistook Graves for a raccoon or other prey.

After an extensive search of the lagoon, Graves’ body was found about 10-15 feet from where he was dragged.

Fellow resort guest Jennifer Venditti Roye told People that her son had waded in the same area just an hour before the attack.

“It could have been [my son],” she admitted. “We had been there every night. What a tragedy.

“Not at all did that cross my mind that there would be alligators in that area.”

Chelsea Houska & Cole DeBoer: Wedding Date & Location Revealed!

Despite persistent rumors that Chelsea Houska and Cole DeBoer are already married, it seems the most stable couple in the history of the Teen Mom franchise has yet to walk down the aisle.

Houska and DeBoer got engaged last year, but they’ve been tight-lipped about the plans for their nuptials.

Now, however, Radar Online is reporting that the Housk and DeBoer are planning to tie the knot in their home state against a backdrop of fall foliage.

According to the site, Houska and DeBoer will get married on October 1 in Hartford, South Dakota.

“Cole and I really like the fall, so sometime around then,” Chelsea told MTV shortly after DeBoer proposed.

“The ceremony will be small and intimate with our close family and friends.”

Of course, now that the date and location are circulating around the Internet, she may want to amend that to “friends, family and 13,000 Teen Mom 2 fans.”

We kid!

This is Chelsea Houska and Cole DeBoer we’re talking about, not Brangelina.

We can understand why they wanted to keep the details under wraps, but we don’t think they’ll be overwhelmed by wedding crashers.

Chelsea might be a fan favorite, but we think that after all she’s been through with nightmare baby daddy Adam Lind, most of those fans feel protective of her happiness.

We doubt any of them would want to do anything to mess up her big day.

And even if anyone decided to rent a tux and take advantage of the open bar, they’d likely be in for a surprise:

Sources say Chelsea and Cole’s wedding will be televised – which means MTV camera crews and security teams.

Best to just stay home and watch Teen Mom 2 online like the rest of us.

Brandi Redmond: Is She Getting a Divorce?

The Real Housewives of Dallas may be over for the season, but the drama for Brandi Redmond is just getting started.

The star revealed on the reunion special that aired on Monday night she and her husband have had some tough times since filming ended.

He didn’t like the way she acted when the camera crews were around. Early on the season, Brandi was seen dancing with a male stripper in a strip club.

It’s a bit odd that a married woman would do that. Did she forget that cameras were following her every move?

Her husband, Bryan Redmond, no doubt felt betrayed about the way she was acting. She was obviously just putting on a show for the cameras, but there’s a line and she most certainly crossed it.

To those who watch The Real Housewives of Dallas online, it was obvious that things were strained between the pair when he was scarcely featured in the back half of the first season of the show.

Brandi was going to meet a a long-lost relative, but he was nowhere to be found.

Brandi realizes that she was in the wrong and said that she’s threatened her husband with a divorce before, but she didn’t know just how much it hurt until her husband threw it at her.

Wrote Redmond in her official blog:

“If I say the D word, he knows its not serious and it’s a pet peeve of his that I throw it out so loosely when I’m upset. I knew I hurt him when he told me he wanted a divorce and in return he hurt me by saying that.

“A divorce is not something I ever want and will fight for my marriage. I was open with sharing this part of my life because I realized how much the word divorce hurts.”

Since filming concluded on the Bravo reality series, Brandi has been trying to get her marriage back to the way it was before she let cameras invade her family.

The star has now realized that her marriage is more important than a reality show that isn’t exactly doing well in the ratings.

She stated that Bravo has yet to issue contracts for a potential second season of the show, but there’s a chance she may not return.

“I felt that my relationship with all the ladies was in a good place. I didn’t want to stir the pot although things were popping in my head like crazy.”

“I just felt that I was so lucky to be in a good place with everything in my life,” Redmond revealed in her blog.

Even if Redmond does want to return to the show down the line, producers might not let her back if she doesn’t want to stir the pot.

Shows like these rely heavily on pot stirrers, so having someone flat out refusing to do it will probably be a bitter pill to swallow.
