Baton Rouge Shooting: 3 Cops Dead, 3 Other Officers Wounded

Tragedy has once again struck Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

police

A trio of police officers are dead and a handful more injured after a gunman opened fire at a shopping center in the southern city, according to the Baton Rouge mayor’s office and many other outlets.

CNN confirms that cops have shot one suspect, but an investigation is underway to determine whether others were involved.

“This is still an active scene,” Kip Holden, the mayor of East Baton Rouge Parish, told network, adding:

“They are investigating. Right now we are trying to get our arms around everything. It’s just been one thing after another.”

Baton Rouge Police Department spokesman Sgt. Don Coppola says three officers are injured, though it’s unknown at this time whether those injuries are life-threatening.

The shooting took place around 9 a.m.

Sunday’s horrific event took place fewer than two weeks after the shooting death of Alton Sterling.

The 37-year-old father was killed by Baton Rouge cops outside a store where he was selling homemade CDs and DVDs.

As depicted above, Sterling’s death was captured on video, with the clip stirring up feelings of outrage and sadness around the country and Internet.

In the disturbing piece of footage, Sterling is tackled to the ground by two officers and later held down while one of these officers shoots him multiple times, killing him on the spot.

Just one day later, 32-year-old Philando Castile was pulled over for a seemingly routine traffic stop in Falcon Heights, Minnesota.

However, he was also shot and killed in the car while his girlfriend filmed the tragedy on camera; the couple’s young daughter sat in the backseat.

These controversial deaths were followed by a shooting in Dallas last week that left five police officers dead and seven officers and two civilians wounded.

It took place on Thursday, July 7 at a gathering of Black Lives Matter protesters.

The victims in today’s awful case were from Baton Rouge Police Department, as well as East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office.

“This is an unspeakable and unjustified attack on all of us at a time when we need unity and healing,” Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards says.

Jenelle Evans: Pregnant With Baby #3!!!

Jenelle Evans is expecting her third child.

The Teen Mom 2 star has been denying reports over the last few months that she’s pregnant, but a recent police report proves otherwise.

Evans was in a car crash with her boyfriend David Eason on July 6.

That’s when the police report was filed and it stated that Evans was pregnant and was complaining of abdominal pains.

Rumors first kicked off in May this year that she was pregnant when she was spotted covering up her stomach.

Given how open the reality star has been on social media about her personal life, this comes as a bit of a shock.

There’s no denying that her parenting skills have been called into question on a number of occasions, so it doesn’t come as a huge surprise that the 24-year-old got some hurtful comments.

In a recent episode of Teen Mom 2, she ditched her parenting duties to party for spring break.

This didn’t win her any praise with from her haters.

There’s no denying that some of the comments people leave online can be pretty horrid.

Upon hearing about her pregnancy news, one fan tweeted, “She should have her tubes tied.”

That’s a pretty horrible statement to make about anyone.

If you watch Teen Mom 2 online, you’ll know that Jenelle has been trying to turn her life around over the past few years.

The reality star took to social media to speak about the hurtful comments.

“’So sad.’ ‘Disappointing.’ “She should have her tubes tied.’ ‘Did she have a miscarriage or is she still pregnant?!’ ‘3 baby daddies!’’” her post began.

“These are only some hate comments I have been receiving since yesterday,” the Teen Mom explained. “I don’t understand what is ‘disappointing’ or ‘sad’ ?! Why not ask if I’m ok from the car accident?!”

“Why not be concerned about my health?!” she added.

“I want privacy. All of you disgust me. It’s all about gossip these days… Funny someone else comes out with news they are pregnant and the world is overjoyed.”

“And everyone wonders why I’m so private lately?!” she concluded. “Because all of you are up my ass and so nosey it’s unbelievable.”

What do you think of the baby news?
