Joseph Duggar and Kendra Caldwell: Married!
It’s that time again, friends!
Yet another one of the Duggar children has gotten married … meaning it’s time to send your well wishes, and also to take bets on how long it will take for them to make a pregnancy announcement!
This weekend, the lucky couple to wed is Joseph Duggar and Kendra Caldwell.
The wedding took place yesterday at the First Baptist Church in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, and the whole family was there to celebrate, naturally!
Several family members managed to make their way into the wedding party, too.
Joseph chose his brother Josiah to be his best man, with brothers John David, Jeremiah, Jedidiah, Jason, James, and Justin stepping in as groomsmen.
Meanwhile, Kendra picked Jana, Jill, Jessa, Joy-Anna, Johannah, and Jennifer as some of her bridesmaids.
Her own sister acted as her maid of honor, and her mother was in the bridal party as well.
We don’t have access to any wedding photos yet — the Duggars are holding on tight to those! — but we do know that Kendra’s dress was, in classic Duggar fashion, modest but beautiful.
Joseph and the rest of the boys in the wedding wore navy suits, which makes sense: the wedding colors were said to be navy, burgundy, and yellow.
On Thursday night, the newly married couple threw a fun little rehearsal dinner with Mexican food on the menu.
And then for their reception last night, they partied at their church’s gym — that part of the event was described as “fun and festive.”
After the ceremony, Joseph made an adorable statement to People, saying “It is an amazing feeling to be husband and wife.”
“It’s something that I’ve always dreamed of to have a wife and to raise a family in a way that honors the lord. We are very excited to see what God has in the future for us.”
Us too, y’all!
It seems like Jim Bob and Michelle were also thrilled with the wedding — they made two separate statements to say as much!
On the family’s official Facebook page, they wrote “What a beautiful ceremony today when Joe and Kendra became husband and wife! We are thrilled to have Kendra join the family!”
And over on the Duggar family blog, they made a post saying “Congratulations to the Newlyweds!”
“It’s an amazing and exciting day for our family! We loved sharing your big day with you and look forward to the amazing days ahead the Lord has in store for you both!”
Sweet, right?
Joseph and Kendra began courting back in March, and he proposed to her in May.
You may remember the proposal: he got a whole, whole lot of criticism for doing it during Joy-Anna’s wedding!
Though the timing of his proposal may not have been up to everyone’s standards, it’s obvious the family holds no hard feelings.
