For a while there, news of a Kim Kardashian-Kanye West divorce seemed inevitable.
Following Kanye’s hospitalization, the couple lived in separate homes and seemed to be on the verge of going their separate ways for good.
Now, however, it seems that Kimye is determined to beat the odds and make it work.
In fact, a source close to the couple tells E! News today that Kim and Kanye are doing better than ever in the wake of their latest rough patch.
“They are getting along and have been working on themselves a lot,” the insider told E! News
“One of the things they’re really trying to do is travel more together—for fun and when they each have work obligations, they’d go with each other.
The source adds:
“The plan is to do more things together and travel together more in the future.”
Apparently, the drama has forced Kim and Kanye to re-focus on themselves as a couple, which has in turn led them to take on fewer work commitments in favor of reigniting the romance and spending more time with mutual friends.
“It’s healthy for them to get out and be out and about more like they have been lately,” the source added.
“It’s good for them to be out and for people to see that they’re happy and healthy. They want it to work.”
As for the rumors that Kanye’s fashion show at NYFW was a major source of stress for the couple, the insider say nothing could be further from the truth.
The anonymous friend says working on the show together provided a much-needed bonding experience, and the act of getting back to his adoring public was a crucial step in Kanye’s ongoing recovery:
“He was happy to have shown a collection in the first place,” the insider claims.
“He did it for himself and to get back into his life [and] also to have a continued presence at Fashion Week.”
As for the mixed response to the show, Kanye is reportedly unconcerned with the haters:
“If people are talking about it, good or bad, he’s happy,” the insider claims.
“When he got back to L.A., he seemed to be relieved that it was over, but happy he saw it through.”
Sounds like the old Kanye is back – and not a moment too soon.
Better yet, it seems Kimye is here to stay.
