Well, it looks like we might have some new insight as to why the identity of Kailyn Lowry’s baby daddy is such a closely-guarded secret.
New reports indicate that after a brief fling last year, Kailyn and the mystery man are no longer dating.
And sources say Kailyn is keeping his name under wraps in part because she’s hoping they’ll eventually get back together.
Sources tell Radar Online that the father has been supportive, and he and Kailyn are planning to co-parent amicably, but they are not currently involved romantically.
And apparently Kailyn is none too thrilled about that last part:
“He’s been there whenever Kail has needed him,” a source close to Lowry tells the site.
“He is supportive of her so it’s been good.”
The insider adds that Kailyn is looking for something more than a supportive co-parent, but for now, the relationship has stalled:
“Co-parenting when the baby is born is the plan as of now,” the insider said. “They’re working on things currently [to get back together],” says the source.
It seems the situation hasn’t been easy, but Kailyn – who’s fans frequently applaud her emotional toughness – is persevering, and her excitement about her forthcoming bundle of joy is reportedly helping her keep strong:
“She’s pushing through it,” the source says.
“She’s really excited to meet her new addition.”
Interestingly, on the Ask the Moms Teen Mom 2 special that aired earlier this week, Kailyn said she was dating someone, and since she would’ve already known she was pregnant at the time the episode was filmed, it was widely assumed said boo-thang was her baby daddy.
So what happened in the meantime?
Was the father scared off by all the publicity that comes with being a Teen Mom baby daddy?
Is keeping his identity from the press Kailyn’s way of assuring him that she can keep him off of fans’ radar if they get more serious?
We may never know, and at the moment, we don’t even know the guy’s name.
Fans remain convinced that Chris Lopez is the father, but now that Kailyn and the dad are no longer together, the search for conclusive evidence may prove even more difficult.
Kailyn was already facing the unique challenges of raising three kids with three different fathers, but now she has to do so as a single mom.
It won’t be easy, but we imagine it will make for compelling television.
