Carrie Ann Inaba and Robb Derringer: It"s Over!

Carrie Ann Inaba and Robb Derringer have split up just nine months after getting engaged.

A source close to the Dancing with the Stars judge confirmed the sad news to PEOPLE.

Rumors have been swirling over the last few days that the relationship is over, and now we have official confirmation.

Derringer proposed to Inaba in December during a romantic moment at the scene of their first date somewhere along the California coast.

It appeared that wedding planning was well underway just last month when Inaba happily revealed some of the details of the event to People.

I’ve thought more about the wedding than the reception,” she began.

“A wedding is sacred. It’s a profound moment in one’s life and we both want to focus more on the ceremony and make sure it represents our love and truth in a very intimate and special way.”

She revealed in the same interview that she and Derringer had a thing for the ocean and felt like it was instrumental to their relationship.

Well, it’s not uncommon to feel attached to the place of your first date and engagement, we guess.

“We both have an affinity for the ocean. We had our first date near the ocean, we got engaged near the ocean. The ocean will be a central theme in our wedding,” says Inaba. “And we’re guessing and hoping for a sunset to remember.”

The rumor mill went into overdrive over the weekend when she hosted an event in Hawaii for former Dancing with the Stars star, Kristi Yamaguchi.

Robb and the engagement ring were nowhere in sight, and the star had her mother with her for moral support. It certainly seemed like the couple was on thin ice.

That was not the first sign that there was trouble in paradise, however.

Carrie Ann shared the below image on Instagram just last week.

The ominous picture reads, “Just when I think I’ve learned the way to live, life changes.”

There has been no official confirmation about what paved the way for the split, but it does sound like came out of nowhere if the wedding was being discussed just weeks ago.

What do you think about all of this?
