In addition to starring on one of the most popular series in MTV history and hosting a successful podcast, Kailyn Lowry is also the author of a pair memoirs.
Each of Kailyn’s books made it to the bestsellers list, the latter becoming such a hit that it even inspired an adult coloring book.
(As in a coloring book for adults. There was nothing pornographic in it … we think.)
So it should come as no surprise that Kailyn has a third memoir in the works.
And since it was the candid nature of her first two tell-alls that made them so popular with Teen Mom 2 fans, it should also come as no surprise that Kailyn is once again baring her soul in her latest volume.
Not surprisingly, the future is very much on the mother of three’s mind these days.
In particular, it seems she’s concerned about the challenges presented by raising three boys without an adult male presence in the household.
Kailyn welcomed son Lux in August of 2017, and it seems her co-parenting relationship with his father, Chris Lopez, is not going as planned.
Obviously, the situation is weighing heavily on Lowry’s mind, and she says she’s addressing her new book to all three of her boys, so that they might better understand the challenges she faces as a young single mom:
“The book was an apology letter to Lux for basically the mess he was born into and how bad I feel,” Lowry told Radar Online in a recent interview.
“But now it’s to all three of them.”
She further elaborated on the concept in a tweet posted earlier this week, writing:
“I feel bad and I’m nervous about how a lot of my decisions will impact them or affect them. So I’m apologizing to all of them and I want them to know how much I love them and I’m working now to pick up the pieces.”
Of course, Kail’s feelings of guilt are common to all parents and seem to afflict single parents in particular.
But while some aspects of her situation may be universal, others are unique.
Most parents struggle to make their children understand the difficulties of raising children under any circumstances, but Kail’s struggles are well-documented, both on television and in book form.
And as her boys grow up, that set of circumstances is likely to help them forge a bond with their mother that few sons know.
A release date for Kail’s third memoir has not yet been announced, but those familiar with the project say it’s in its final stages.
