Heather Locklear Rushed to Hospital After Apparent Overdose

Heather Locklear was taken to the hospital for the second time in just over two weeks on Monday afternoon.

As previously detailed, the veteran actress was placed under doctor’s supervision earlier this month after she allegedly assaulted her parents and threatened to shoot herself.

She was then released after receiving a psychiatric evalution.

Yesterday, however, the extremely troubled ex-Melrose Place and Spin City star was hospitalized for a different reason.

And a scarier one, really, too.

TMZ confirms that a 911 call was made from Locklear’s home around 3 p.m. after the actress overdoses on prescription medication.

Paramedics quickly arrived on the scene in Thousand Oaks, California and transported the star to Las Robles Hospital & Medical Center.

She is now in stable condition, with an insider telling Us Weekly:

“She didn’t want to leave her home [Monday] afternoon to get further treatment that she had agreed to get earlier in the day.

“Authorities were called when Heather said she had taken prescription medication and there [were] concerns she had taken more than she had been prescribed.

“The family is asking for privacy at this time.”

There’s no way to know right now whether Locklear accidentally took more than she had been prescribed; or if she did so on purpose.

Just 24 hours prior to this frightening incident, Locklear was released from jail after she allegedly attacked both a police officer and an EMT.

They had been called to the 56-year old’s home because the actress was acting drunk and beligerent.

“This is a very serious situation,” a second source told the aforementioned tabloid, adding of the star:

“Heather refuses to get treatment. … Heather’s parents are asking [her boyfriend] Chris [Heisser] to stay away from Heather for a bit to give her some space to get the help she needs.”

This really is a very scary time for the former soap opera and primetime television mainstay.

Locklear has had numerous run-ins with the law over recent years and checked into rehab on at least one occasion.

We had previously heard that Locklear planned to voluntarily check herself in for another round of treatment following last week’s uproar at her home, but it now appears as if that was never on the docket… or Heather changed her mind.

All that’s really certain at the moment is that those close to the actress and/or those who were close to her in the past are very afraid of what may happen next.

“I love Heather… [and  have] loving thoughts and prayers for her and her family and her daughter, Ava,” ex-boyfriend Jack Wagner recently told Entertainment Tonight.

Ava is Locklear’s 20-year old daughter with Bon Jovi drummer Richie Sambora.

She “has had to watch her mother’s ups and downs and this is far worse than it has ever been,” another source tells ET, concluding:

“No one should have to deal with their mother behaving the way Heather does. Especially the way Heather has treated the police.

“Something has to change, there has to be some sort of reality check here.”

We’ll be keeping both Heather and Ava in our thoughts for awhile.
