Heather Locklear Rushed to Hospital After Apparent Overdose
Heather Locklear was taken to the hospital for the second time in just over two weeks on Monday afternoon.
As previously detailed, the veteran actress was placed under doctor’s supervision earlier this month after she allegedly assaulted her parents and threatened to shoot herself.
She was then released after receiving a psychiatric evalution.
Yesterday, however, the extremely troubled ex-Melrose Place and Spin City star was hospitalized for a different reason.
And a scarier one, really, too.
TMZ confirms that a 911 call was made from Locklear’s home around 3 p.m. after the actress overdoses on prescription medication.
Paramedics quickly arrived on the scene in Thousand Oaks, California and transported the star to Las Robles Hospital & Medical Center.
She is now in stable condition, with an insider telling Us Weekly:
“She didn’t want to leave her home [Monday] afternoon to get further treatment that she had agreed to get earlier in the day.
“Authorities were called when Heather said she had taken prescription medication and there [were] concerns she had taken more than she had been prescribed.
“The family is asking for privacy at this time.”
There’s no way to know right now whether Locklear accidentally took more than she had been prescribed; or if she did so on purpose.
Just 24 hours prior to this frightening incident, Locklear was released from jail after she allegedly attacked both a police officer and an EMT.
They had been called to the 56-year old’s home because the actress was acting drunk and beligerent.
“This is a very serious situation,” a second source told the aforementioned tabloid, adding of the star:
“Heather refuses to get treatment. … Heather’s parents are asking [her boyfriend] Chris [Heisser] to stay away from Heather for a bit to give her some space to get the help she needs.”
This really is a very scary time for the former soap opera and primetime television mainstay.
Locklear has had numerous run-ins with the law over recent years and checked into rehab on at least one occasion.
We had previously heard that Locklear planned to voluntarily check herself in for another round of treatment following last week’s uproar at her home, but it now appears as if that was never on the docket… or Heather changed her mind.
All that’s really certain at the moment is that those close to the actress and/or those who were close to her in the past are very afraid of what may happen next.
“I love Heather… [and have] loving thoughts and prayers for her and her family and her daughter, Ava,” ex-boyfriend Jack Wagner recently told Entertainment Tonight.
Ava is Locklear’s 20-year old daughter with Bon Jovi drummer Richie Sambora.
She “has had to watch her mother’s ups and downs and this is far worse than it has ever been,” another source tells ET, concluding:
“No one should have to deal with their mother behaving the way Heather does. Especially the way Heather has treated the police.
“Something has to change, there has to be some sort of reality check here.”
We’ll be keeping both Heather and Ava in our thoughts for awhile.

Heather Locklear Arrested for Assaulting Police Officer
We often try to keep things light here at The Hollywood Gossip.
But we don’t even have a joke to make about the following story.
We have no snarky comments at all.
We just sincerely hope Heather Locklear finds the professional help she so clearly needs.
The veteran actress was arrested on Sunday night after a family member called 911 from Locklear’s home because Locklear was allegedly drunk and beligerant.
According to TMZ, the former Melrose Place, Dynasty and Spin City star then punched a responding police officer who was trying to separate her from an unnamed relative.
Paramedics evnetually arrived as well — and, while being placed on a gurney, Locklear is accusing of kicking an EMT.
The incidents took place just before midnight and Locklear was prompted booked for two counts of misdemeanor battery upon an officer and emergency personnel.
Authorities confirm that the star was taken to a hospital near her residence get checked out and then was taken to jail, where she was booked.
She’s being held on $ 20,000 bail.
This would obviously be a disturbing story based on the facts listed above alone.
But the alleged attacks took place less than one week after Locklear was hospitalized after another drunken assault, this time one against her parents.
Reports at that time indicated that the actress choked her mother and hit her father.
She also threatened to find a gun and kill herself, which is why she was placed under psychiatric evaluation.
And even that was not some kind of isolated encounter/run-in with the law.
The sadly troubled actress previously pleaded not guilty to four counts of battery on an officer and one count of resisting arrest in April, following her February arrest in which she apparently told officers:
“If you ever come back to my house I will shoot you.”
This arrest caused Locklear to check into a rehabilitation, with sources close to her saying that she was “spiraling out of control.”
Said former Melrose Place co-star Josie Bissett to Entertainment Tonight in the wake of last weekend’s suicide threat:
“[It’s] just sad. You know, it’s just heartbreaking. We just pray for her and hope she gets through this time.”
And Jack Wagner, who also appeared on this Fox soap opera opposite Locklear and also dated her for a number of years, added in this same interview:
“I just will stand by what I have said for a while and that is that we all have our struggles.
“We all do and some of us handle them in different ways.
“We either really work at getting well, you know, and it’s just about when you make that decision to do it…
“I love Heather and I know Josie feels the same way, so nothing but loving thoughts and prayers for her and her family and her daughter, Ava.”
We echo this sentiment.

Heather Locklear Threatens to Kill Herself, Gets Sent to Hospital
Heather Locklear, the veteran actress best known for roles on Dynasty, Spin City and Melrose Place, was hospitalized over the weekend after reportedly threatening to shoot herself.
According to TMZ, the Ventura County Fire and Sheriff’s Departments responded to the veteran star’s home on Sunday after a relative called 911.
Audio of the dispatch obtained by the aforementioned website says that Locklear was “agitated and violent,” threatening to hurt herself and those around her.
Although she did not have access to weapons, based on this 911 call, the operator said she was looking for a gun to shoot herself.
In a follow-up to its original post, TMZ quotes an insider who says Locklear’s parents were at her house when the actress grew so violent that she actually choked her mother and struck her father.
It was the former who called the police.
No criminal chargers were filed against Locklear.
Instead of being transported to prison, she was transported to a local hospital and placed under psychiatric supervision.
Public records do confirm that Locker resides on the street from where this 911 call was placed.
“At that location we contacted a person who had medical needs, and they were treated by the Ventura County Fire Department, and they were later transported to a local hospital,” Capt. Kuredjian tells People Magazine, adding:
“There was no criminal activity. The person was not arrested.”
Locklear, for those who have followed her career closely or who are up to date on the celebrity gossip world, has had her fair of legal and personal trouble over the years.
In February, for example, Locklear was arrested on suspicion of felony domestic battery, along with three counts of battery on a police officer.
Police later searched her home for a firearm that was allegedly registered in her name.
Two weeks later, the actress entered a rehab program.
“She didn’t go because she was forced,” a longtime associate told People at the time, explaining;
“There was no intervention. She went in on her own. She wanted to feel better and get to the bottom of what was troubling her.”
In March of 2008, meanwhile, Locklear’s doctor dialed 911 and reported that the celebrity was suicidal; that June, Heather sought help for psychological issues.
Back during her recent February incident, Locklear threatened to shoot police officers on the spot and also if they ever returned to her house.
Given this history, the Sheriff’s Department confirms that multiple units were sent to Locklear’s residence in response to Sunday’s situation.
Let’s all hope and pray that Heather Locklear finds the assistance she so desperately needs.

Heather Locklear Enters Rehab Following Domestic Violence Arrest
To the horror of fans and everyone else, Heather Locklear has been arrested for domestic violence and for allegedly assaulting a police officer.
While this isn’t the first time that Locklear’s been in trouble with the law, this sounds serious and deeply alarming.
Fans will be relieved to know that she’s taking this seriously. She is reportedly checking in to a rehab facility.
On Sunday night, Heather Locklear was arrested on suspicion of both domestic violence and assaulting a police officer.
Authorities received a disturbance call, which apparently made by Locklear’s own brother, and responded.
Upon arrival, officers noticed visible marks on the face of Locklear’s boyfriend, Chris Heisser, that they interpreted as signs of battery.
But apparently Locklear lashed out, flailing and kicking and successfully striking three officers before she was finally cuffed and carted away.
The one charge of domestic violence is a felony.
She is also facing three charges of battery of emergency responders, which are misdemeanors.
She’s been bailed out since, however.
RadarOnline reports that the 56-year-old actress has now, with the support of her boyfriend, entered a treatment facility north of Los Angeles.
This was apparently a voluntary decision that she made after being bailed out of prison.
Cynically, one could look at this move as an attempt to cover for her alleged misdeeds that happened on February 25th. Entering rehab of your own accord will look better in court.
Optimistically, maybe she’s just as horrified by her alleged actions towards her boyfriend and towards police and wants to make sure that she never does anything of the sort at any time in the future.
Notably, this is reportedly her seventh stint in rehab — at least.
Reportedly, she went to rehab over the holidays following a different domestic incident.
Police conducted a search of Locklear’s home on Tuesday.
The reason for the search is that the actress allegedly threatened to shoot them if they ever again entered her home.
No matter what her state of mind was at the time when she made that horrifying threat, that’s the sort of thing that law enforcement must take seriously.
Imagine if, the next time that something horrible like this happens at her home, officers respond to find that she makes good on her threat.
Unlikely, one hopes, but the police want to make sure that they aren’t sending officers into the jaws of death.
While hopefully it was just Locklear’s “uncooperative” and “combative” mood talking, police were unable to locate the firearm that Locklear has registered in her name.
As we mentioned, this is not Heather Locklear’s first run-in with the law. Not by a long shot, unfortunately.
In September of 2008, she was pulled over for a DUI (there’s a long story there, including it having been reported by a former gossip magazine editor who also photographed her and sold the pictures for a tidy sum).
This led to Locklear pleading no contest in 2009. It’s important to note that, thankfully, no one was injured in that case.
Also in 2008, someone who claimed to be Locklear’s doctor made a phone call claiming that the actress was attempting to commit suicide.
Though things seemed fine when responders arrived at Locklear’s home, she did end up checking into a facility for psychological issues, including anxiety and depression.
In 2012, Locklear’s sister called emergency services and reported that Locklear was taking prescription drugs and alcohol and that she feared for her sister’s life. The next day, however, Locklear appeared to be out of the woods.
Many believe that Locklear has multiple issues that haven’t been resolved or properly treated, including psychological struggles — and we doubt that she herself would disagree with that assessment at the moment.
That said … does that excuse alleged domestic battery?
Her alleged violent blow-ups have led to hospitalizations and drama before.
Some are seriously questioning whether it’s safe for anyone to be in a relationship with her at this time.
Everyone hopes that she makes a recovery and comes out of rehab with a sound mind and a commitment to being a better person.

Heather Locklear Arrested for Domestic Violence, Assault of a Cop
Heather Locklear is in pretty serious trouble with the law.
The veteran actress was arrested Sunday night on suspicion of domestic violence and assault on police officer, Captain Dean Cook of the Thousand Oaks Police Department tells The Hollywood Reporter.
She was booked into the Ventura County jail, but has since been released on bail.
Not many details are available at this time, but authorities reported to a disturbance call at a home in Thousand Oaks, TMZ writes.
During the arrest, Locklear allegedly became combative and even attacked an officer on scene.
Cook explains the one count of domestic violence is a felony and the three counts of battery of emergency personnel are misdemeanors.
Locklear also posed for this mug shot, which doesn’t exactly flatter the long-time sitcom and drama star:
UPDATE:
According to the 911 call, per TMZ, the actress’ brother came to her residence and witness Locklear arguing with her boyfriend, whose name has not been released.
The brother is in the individual who dialed 911.
Upon their arrival, the cops noticed that the boyfriend had a visible mark on his face and proceeded to take Locklear into custody.
But she was NOT having it.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ that Locker flailed, kicked and actually struck three deputies while they attemped to detain her.
Eventually, the star was handcuffed and taken to the hospital for evaluation.
The 56-year-old has gotten into plenty of hot water in the past, often related to her substance abuse issues.
She’s been arrested for drunk driving and battled an addiction to prescription drugs.
In 2011, Los Angeles cops was dispatched to Jack Wagner’s home – her then-boyfriend and former Melrose Place colleague – after the pair allegedly got physical with each other during a heated argument.
At the time a law enforcement source said the following to TMZ:
“She lost it on him and he retaliated.”
Neither wanted to press charges against the other at the time.
Locklear is best known for her roles on Spin City and Melrose Place.
She’s been nominated for six Golden Globes and guest-starred last year on an episode of the ABC sitcom Fresh Off the Boat.
But her successful career has stalled over the past decade or so, ever since she started to get in trouble with both the law and alcohol/drugs.
It’s a shame, really.
We wish Locklear the best and hope she receives the treatment she appears to badly need.
