Milo Yiannopoulos: I Was Just Joking When I Told You to Shoot Journalists

On Thursday, Americans were saddened — but not terribly surprised — by news of yet another mass shooting, this one at the Capital Gazette newsroom in Annapolis, Maryland.

The incident — which left five dead and two others “gravely injured” — comes on the heels of increased mistrust and disdain directed at the nation’s news media.

Ironically, the seeds of contempt have largely been sown by people who are media figures themselves but have been deemed more trustworthy by certain fringe elements due to the fact that they operate outside of the journalistic mainstream.

No longer content to figuratively take shots at those who disagree with them, many of these self-styled pundits have encouraged their followers to take violent action against the imagined boogeymen who seek to disarm them.

So the Capital Gazette tragedy doesn’t come as much of a shock, not only because it’s the 154th mass shooting of 2018, but also because alt-right provocateurs like Milo Yiannopoulos have been calling for just such just a massacre to take place.

In case you’re unfamiliar, Yiannopoulos is a professional troll turned internet pariah, who recently attempted to weasel his way back into the public consciousness.

Milo was banned from Twitter in 2016 after spewing hate speech at SNL star Leslie Jones.

Shortly thereafter, Yiannopoulos was forced to resign from his post at Breitbart News after seemingly advocating for pedophiliac relationships between grown men and young boys.

When even the hate mongers at Breitbart wash their hands of a fellow bigot, you know that person has stooped to a previously unimagined low.

Now, Yiannopoulos is in hot water yet again, this time as a result of comments in which he seemed to encourage the public to take up arms against journalists in the mainstream media.

In response to outrage over his remark that he “can’t wait for the vigilante squads to start gunning journalists,” Yiannopoulos has issued a statement in which he seeks to deflect blame:

“You’re about to see a raft of news stories claiming that I am responsible for inspiring the deaths of journalists,” Yiannopoulos wrote in a Facebook post.

Milo MAGA

“The truth, as always, is the opposite of what the media tells you.”

Yiannopoulos goes on to claim that despite the fact that his comments were part of a statement to journalists and he himself posted the exchange on social media, the entire conversation was meant to remain private:

“I sent a troll about ‘vigilante death squads’ as a *private* response to a few hostile journalists who were asking me for comment, basically as a way of saying, ‘F—k off.’ They then published it,” he stated.

“Amazed they were pretending to take my joke as a ‘threat,’ I reposted these stories on Instagram to mock them – and to make it clear that I wasn’t being serious.”

The controversy made “Milo”: a trending topic on Twitter last night.

Which, unfortunately, is probably the exact outcome Yiannopoulos hoped for when he incited others to violence with his trademark brand of blindly hateful rhetoric.

Jenelle Evans: I Told You! The Show Can"t Go On Without Me!

Jenelle Evans 1, MTV 0.

It appears as if this controversial cable network personality has won her stand-off against producers and executives, following many weeks’ worth of speculation that Evans may be fired from Teen Mom 2.

Such rumors ran wild around the Internet because Jenelle basically initiated her own boycott of the program.

After MTV fired her husband, David Eason, as a result of his many homophobic remarks, Evans refused to film.

She especially took a strong stance against filming the Teen Mom 2 reunion special in New York City last month, refusing to attend unless the network footed the traveling expenses for her and David.

Producers refused. And Evans remained true to her word.

She skipped the taping.

(And, in the process, she missed quite an explosive situation, as Briana DeJesus and/or her sister allegedly brawled on stage with Kailyn Lowry as cameras rolled.)

However, Radar Online now reports that Evans has essentially come out on top in this quasi game of chicken with her bosses:

She WILL be part of the reunion special after all.

How is this possible? Considering the special has already been filmed?

MTV has agreed to send Dr. Drew Pinsky down to North Carolina to film a separate, one-on-one interview with Evans that will be incorporated into the reunion.

The network has stood strong against Eason, though, as he will play no role in this filming.

MTV arranged for Jenelle to film with just Dr. Drew in North Carolina after she threw a temper tantrum and refused to face the other girls without David,” an insider tells Radar, adding of the arrangement:

“She is scheduled to film on Sunday, but David can’t be anywhere near filming.

“So either he has to leave the house or Jenelle will have to go somewhere else to film.”

Either way, it’s hard not to see this as a victory for Jenelle.

The veteran reality star basically went on strike and dared MTV to fire her…

… and the higher-ups responded by actually heading to down to Jenelle’s hometown just to make sure she remained part of the show.

It’s worth noting that her mother, Barbara Evans, and her son, Jace, both traveled and filmed the Teen Mom 2 reunion in The Big Apple the the weekend of May 19, 2018.

And they may very well have some negative things to say about Jenelle.

But she’s also heard it all before. She can likely handle it.

Just a few weeks ago, Evans got into serious legal trouble and faced major backlash after reportedly pulling a gun on a driver during a fit of road rage.

Once again, chatter swirled after this incident that the famous teenage mother may get canned.

And, just to be clear, this may still end up happening.

She may very well film her reunion interview and then not have her contract renewed.

But even if this ends up being the case, check out the photo gallery and story below:

Evans and DeJesus are already lining up their post-Teen Mom plans:

Donald Trump Told Veterans" Widow "He Knew What He Signed Up For," Senator Claims

On Monday, President Donald Trump hosted a press conference in the White House Rose Garden that was bizarre even by the currnent administration’s incredibly lofty standards of absurdity.

For one thing, Trump responded to sexual assault allegations against him by barking his “fake news” mantra at the assembled media.

Of course, that’s the president’s standard response to accusations and criticism.

What followed, however, no one could have predicted, and no, we’re not talking about the fact that Trump and Senator Mitch McConnell chose to hold hands as they left the dais.

In one of the more bizarre and outlandish lies of his presidency, Trump alleged that other previous presidents did not contact the widows of fallen servicemen, as he himself had.

“If you look at President Obama and other presidents, most of them didn’t make calls,” Trump told the press.

“A lot of them didn’t make calls. I like to call when it’s appropriate.”

Of course, hundreds of military widows have since come forward to refute that claim, affirming that they did indeed receive phone calls from President Obama after their husbands were killed.

In the wake of an ambush from ISIS-affiliated forces in Niger that left four dead, it seems Trump did indeed contact the widow of at least one of the fallen, but far from offering comfort, it seems his remarks only deepened her suffering.

Congresswoman Frederica Wilson (D-FL) says she was present when Trump contacted the widow of La David Johnson, a Green Beret who was killed in the attack.

Her account of Trump’s conversation with Myeshia Johnson is genuinely appalling:

“Basically he said, ‘Well, I guess he knew what he signed up for, but I guess it still hurt,"” Wilson told Don Lemon on CNN last night.

Naturally, Trump was quick to tweet his incendiary response to the allegation:

“Democrat Congresswoman totally fabricated what I said to the wife of a soldier who died in action (and I have proof). Sad!”

“I have proof, too: this man is a sick man,” Wilson responded on CNN this morning.

She added that Johnson’s widow “broke down” after her call with Trump.

“When she actually hung up the phone she looked and said, ‘He didn’t even know his name,"” Wilson says of her time in the Johnson home.

Myeshia Johnson has yet to speak publicly about the incident, and the president has yet to offer the “proof” he promised in his tweet.
