Babyface to Bring Smooth Mug, Moves to Dancing with the Stars
Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds is going Dancing with the Stars!
This news isn’t exactly as controversial as the possibility of Ryan Lochte coming on board Season 23 of the ABC competition, but still.
Babyface can really sing!
The artist has won 11 Grammy Awards and was honored with the 2,508th star of the Hollywood Walk of Fame on October 10, 2013.
Throughout his career, Babyface has also won the BMI Pop Songwriter of the Year trophy an incredible seven times, while also earning a total of 51 BMI Awards, which includes Song of the Year for his Toni Braxton hit, “Breathe Again” in 1994.
Edmonds pretty much dominated the R&B charts in the 1980s and ’90s with such hits as “Every Time I Close My Eyes,” “Whip Appeal” and “When Can I See You.”
He’s also known for producing and writing hits for such huge names as Madonna, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston and Ariana Grande.
Multiple outlets (Us Weekly, E! News) have confirmed the Babyface casting, though, as usual, ABC is yet to release a statement.
The network will announce the full Season 23 cast on Good Morning America on August 30.
Thus far, however, it sounds strongly as if Babyface will Foxtrot alongside the following D-Listers:
JAKE T. AUSTIN.
AMBER ROSE.
JOJO FLETCHER.
We also know that veteran professional Maksim Chmerkovskiy, – whose fiancée, Peta Murgatroyd, is pregnant with their first child – is also scheduled to return after a multiple season hiatus.
Producers of the ABC dance competition have repeatedly offered former President Bill Clinton a slot, which is hilarious, also reached out to Olympic gymnast Simone Biles.
The gold medalist could not squeeze in Dancing with the Stars this fall, but it sounds like she’d be game to do so in the spring.
“I would love to do Dancing With the Stars, but so far we have a three-month tour after this Olympics,” Biles told E! News.
The new season of Dancing With the Stars premieres on ABC September 12 at 8/7c.
