Clare Crawley & Benoit Beausejour-Savard: Engaged! Watch Their Surprise Proposal

Just like the real Olympics, The Bachelor Winter Games doesn"t last forever. Unlike the real Olympics, stars from the show gather for a World Tells All special.

While the world waited to see what decision Arie Luyendyk Jr. will make — unless they follow The Bachelor Spoilers and don"t have to guess — members of the Bachelor Nation got to see a different engagement on live television.

Clare Crawley"s love triangle seemed to be a bust, but ended with an on-air proposal. Watch it happen below!

Before we get to the video of the beautiful and moving proposal, let"s remember Clare Crawley"s journey.

She"s been … unlucky in love on the Bachelor franchise, folks. It happens.

On The Bachelor Winter Games, Clare at first seemed to be in a good place — sort of — because she was in the center of a love triangle between Benoit Beausejour-Savard and Christian Rauch.

Benoit is a Canadian native, while Christian is from Germany.

Clare and Benoit seemed to have hit it off, but Clare ended up parting ways with the Canadian native because she wanted tog et to know Christian better.

But then, she and Christian ended up calling it quits before the kissing contest. (The one that we mentioned on our The Bachelor Winter Games recap)

When they were all off of the show, Benoit of course did not yet know the details — he did not know that Crawley and Christian had split.

But he did reach out to her with a simple text, asking how she was doing.

"At that point, I was just thinking, ‘She’s ending up with Christian,"" Benoit admits in an interview to People.

"The sentence that kept running through my mind was, ‘It’s not the end of the two of us.’ But I knew at that moment that she may have fell for him."

On the show, she had told Benoit that she didn"t feel as strongly about him as he did about her. Clearly, that"s changed.

That simple text asking how she was doing blossomed into so much more.

"It didn’t happen, so she just called me and from there, it went better and better, and we spent hours and hours each and every day talking to each other."

Crawley gushed about the surprise proposal itself and her brand new engagement.

"It’s overwhelming, it’s crazy."

It is a little nuts — especially if it was a genuine surprise.

"Going on these Bachelor shows is a huge risk and you don’t know the outcome. It’s scary, but it’s a risk that you have to take to get the good in the end."

While the proposal was a surprise to Crawley, Benoit says that falling in love with her was a surprise for him.

"I didn"t expect this," he admits.

His mindset going into the show didn"t really prepare him for the love that he found.

"I was heartbroken on The Bachelorette: Canada but going back on this show I had an open mind. I was realistic that there might not be someone for me."

That"s a lot more down-to-earth than you hear from a lot of reality stars.

"But like you’ve seen on TV, I had the biggest crush ever on her. [But then] it wasn’t a crush, it was developing into something really deep and strong."

Benoit had a custom last-minute Neil Lane ring made for Crawley.

It sounds like they had at least discussed the idea of engagement, because he knew what kind of ring she wanted.

Honestly, though these two might still have some kinks to work out (again, this was all very last minute), it sounds really healthy that their relationship was allowed to grow off camera.

It"s much harder to be honest when millions are watching, folks.

Benoit Violier, Owner of World"s Best Restaurant, Dead of Apparent Suicide

Benoit Violier, considered by many in the food world to be the best chef on the planet, was found dead on Sunday of an apparent suicide.

He was 44 years old.

Violier had been the owner of Restaurant de l’Hotel de Ville since 2012.

A renowned three-star establishment located in the small Swiss village of Crissier, the restaurant was ranked as best in the world in late 2015 by the latest Michelin Guide.

(This gastronomic booklet is the French foreign ministry’s answer to the Britain-based World’s 50 Best Restaurants.)

Not many details regarding Violier’s death have been made public at this time, with Swiss police simply releasing the following statement:

“Late in the afternoon, police… went to Crissier where they discovered at his home the body of Mr Benoit Violier.”

Vionier – who formerly worked for chef Joël Robuchon in Paris – told Swiss newspaper Le Temps recently that he had been deeply affected by the death of his “two fathers” last year.

The chef lost his biological father last April; three months later, his longtime mentor, Philippe Rochat (the chef he succeeded at the Restaurant de l’Hotel de Ville) also passed away.

Authorities are continuing to investigate this passing.

Via statement, Violier’s family has asked for privacy “to be allowed to mourn in peace.”

We send them our condolences.
