Christian Carino: Yes, He Really is Lady Gaga"s Fiance!

Lady Gaga continues to receive rave reviews for her role in A Star is Born.

But the singer took a moment on Monday and acknowledged the special role someone else is playing in her life right now.]

That is, she confirmed that she"s engaged to Christian Carino.

This is not a shocking piece of news to anyone who reads The Hollywood Gossip.

We wrote about Gaga"s plans to marry Carino back in November of 2017.

However, the artist is famously private and had not said a word about this relationship until she spoke this week at Elle‘s 25th Annual Women in Hollywood Celebration at Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles.

The topic of Gaga"s speech was a very serious one.

She opened up to the crowd about having been sexually assaulted in the past, saying on stage:

"What does it really mean to be a woman in Hollywood? We are not just objects to entertain the world. We are not simply images to bring smiles or grimaces to people"s faces.

"We are not members of a giant beauty pageant meant to be pit against one another for the pleasure of the public. We women in Hollywood, we are voices."

Gaga added:

"As a woman who lives with chronic pain, as a woman who was conditioned at a very young age to listen to what men told me to do, I decided today I wanted to take the power back.

"Today I wear the pants."

Amen, right?

While this message is vitally important, it"s almost being overshadowed in the celebrity gossip world by the fact that Gaga also referenced talent agent Christian Carino as her "fiance" at one point.

The two started dating in February of last year and, as far as we know, got engaged about nine months later.

Carino was on hand to support Gaga ahead of her Super Bowl LI halftime performance in Houston in 2017, where the couple was photographed cuddling on the field.

But they have mostly kept a very low profile throughout their romance.

Lady Gaga & Christian Carino: Wedding Plans Revealed?!

Back in November, several media outlets (including this one) reported on the widespread rumor that Lady Gaga and Christian Carino are engaged.

The couple has yet to confirm those claims, but it looks more and more like they’re letting their silence do the talking.

Gaga has never been shy about refuting inaccurate reports about her private life, so it seems she has no problem with the public believing that she’s soon to be married.

And she certainly didn’t seem shy about rocking a massive oval-shaped pink diamond on her commitment finger at this year’s Grammys.

So either she really said yes, or she’s just messing with her Little Monster’s minds at this point.

As best we can tell, Gaga’s breakup with Taylor Kinney and the ensuing media circus left a lasting mark on the singer, and this time around, she’s keeping a much tighter lid on her prenuptial preparations.

Of course, no one as obsessed-over as Gaga can really keep a secret for very long.

So perhaps it should come as no surprise that Life & Style claims to have uncovered the mystery of where and when Gaga and Carino are planning to tie the knot.

“Gaga and Christian are planning to wed in Italy this summer,” a source exclusively tells the tabloid.

“It will be an over-the-top affair combined with classic Italian traditions.”

Yes, Lady Gaga’s wedding ceremony will combine the outlandish with the traditionally Italian.

In other news, water remains wet; Pope Francis has no plans to convert to Judaism, etc.

 

The insider goes on to reveal that guests will enjoy an “Italian-inspired menu,” which frankly, doesn’t feel like much of a bombshell following the revelation that the wedding will actually take place in Italy.

Of course, it would be hilarious to have your family and friends arrive by gondola at a Lake Como villa just to be like, “Gotcha, bitches! Hot Pockets!”

Sadly, most brides aren’t big on punking their guests. Go figure.

Carino, 48, is an agent at CAA, and despite counting Justin Bieber and Harry Styles among his A-list clients, he maintains a relatively low-profile and seems to enjoy the civilian life.

Which is good, because while there are occasional exceptions (Jay and Bey, Posh and Becks), there’s generally only room for one superstar as big as Gaga in a marriage.

Lady Gaga and Christian Carino: Engaged!

While not every lady spends her days gazing forlornly out the window, hoping that a dashing man will come by and sweep her off her feet, that’s still a perfectly acceptable way of finding your happiness.

And it looks like happiness has found Lady Gaga.

Remember reports that Christian Carino asked Lady Gaga’s father for his blessing to marry Lady Gaga? Well, guess what?!

Us Weekly reports that Lady Gaga and Christian Carino are engaged!

So, as we told you back in July, Christian Carino was spending time with Lady Gaga and her family.

Not every boyfriend — even serious ones — gets along with his girlfriend’s family, but apparently Christian didn’t have a hard time getting along with Gaga’s family.

We were admittedly feeling less than comfortable with the report that he asked Lady Gaga’s father for his blessing to propose to her.

There’s a lot about that antiquated custom that speaks of unequal gender dynamics.

Basically, we tend to associate that sort of thing with, say, the Duggar fertility cult, where daughters are the property of their father until he agrees to transfer that property to an approved husband. (Gross)

But it may be that Christian Carino was just testing the waters and making sure that he wasn’t going to upset Lady Gaga’s relatives and that they didn’t think that he was taking advantage of her somehow.

After all, Christian Carino and Lady Gaga started dating back in February. That is not a long time to be in a relationship.

Whatever it was, it apparently went over well — because they apparently got engaged over the summer.

We hope that news about that breaking didn’t spoil whatever surprise Christian Carino had planned.

Us reports that the couple’s current focus is, of course, on Lady Gaga’s health.

Lady Gaga has fibromyalgia, which you’ve probably heard about through commercials for prescription medicines if nowhere else.

Fibromyalgia is an agonizing illness that causes widespread muscle pain and tenderness.

Other symptoms can include fatigue, memory problems, and mood shifts and disorders.

Fibromyalgia is a chronic ailment, meaning that it can come and go with flare-ups that are difficult if not impossible to predict.

Chronic illnesses absolutely suck, folks.

We don’t know how many symptoms Lady Gaga is experiencing with fibromyalgia. Every patient is different.

She’s currently focused upon recovery.

Honestly, we think that it’s great that Christian Carino and Lady Gaga are engaged even with this knowledge.

Unfortunately, a lot of people — whether they’re dating or married — seem to step back when their partner develops an illness. Chronic ailments, in particular, seem to send some loved ones running for the hills.

It’s sad, but true. Just look at the suspicious timing of The Weeknd ending things with Selena Gomez. Reports say that he started to lose interest right around when she got her kidney transplant.

We’re really rooting for Lady Gaga and Christian Carino, though.

Maybe they’ll take that whole “in sickness and in health” thing seriously.

Lady Gaga has done so much good for the world.

We don’t just mean her music, though good music makes the world a better place just by spreading passion, art, inspiration, and joy.

She’s been a prominent proponent of LGBT+ rights from day one, using her voice and platform to stand up for minority rights has done an incalculable amount of good for the world.

She deserves good in her life and she deserves love.

We just look forward to when she and Christian confirm this with an announcement.

But that will come at a time of their choosing.

Lady Gaga"s Boyfriend Christian Carino Asked Her Father WHAT?!

It was not that long ago at all when we first told you that Lady Gaga and Christian Carino were dating. And now we’re hearing a report that they’re already planning to get engaged, which sounds like they’re moving way too fast, you know?

Somehow their high speed relationship isn’t even the weirdest part of this report?

Because the way that Christian Carino is reportedly prepping to propose to Lady Gaga gives us serious concerns about his judgment … and the future of their relationship.

According to a report, Lady Gaga flew her parents over so that they could all celebrate together for the Fourth of July.

Her boyfriend was included at the gathering.

And also, of course, so that Christian and her parents could get to know one another.

That sounds super cool, right?

But then there’s what reportedly happened while they were talking.

Christian is said to have asked Lady Gaga’s father for his blessing to ask for Lady Gaga’s hand in marriage.

(Like it’s the 1600s)

And apparently Joe Germanotta gave Christian Carino his blessing to marry.

A source explains to Life & Style exactly how this came to be:

“Christian saw this as a perfect chance to ask Joe for his daughter’s hand in marriage.”

Well, that would be a great chance … if they knew each other better.

And also if this were centuries ago and asking someone else’s permission were even remotely socially acceptable.

(Because it has never been morally acceptable)

Or, you know, if Christian or Lady Gaga were Duggars.

(Lady Gaga does, in fact, represent a huge portion of things that the Duggars hate and fear and reject)

“When the timing was right, he quietly asked Joe for his permission.”

Ugh. So weird.

“Christian is old-fashioned that way, and he felt like it was the right thing to do before he went ahead and popped the question.”

Well, if that’s the case, then he felt wrong.

Now, we don’t know that this is true.

(We won’t get all existential on you, but Descartes has already said pretty much all that needs to be said about what we can and can’t know about reality)

Sometimes sources are reporting what seems to be true but isn’t.

Sometimes celebrities leak an idea deliberately float it around and see what the public reaction might be.

We just don’t know for sure what’s going on here.

But as much as we want a lifetime of happiness of Lady Gaga, and we absolutely do …

… We hope that this isn’t true.

First of all, six months seems like too soon to get engaged.

And asking so soon after Lady Gaga’s friend died also rubs us the wrong way.

But the idea of asking her dad for permission makes us cringe and cringe and cringe.

Maybe it would be okay … we guess … if both parties who want to get married want to take part in that weird patriarchal tradition.

You know, as if a man’s daughter is his property and her fiance needs to ask if he can claim ownership.

(Gross!)

But we can’t see that for Lady Gaga at all.

We don’t just mean that it doesn’t fit her brand.

It doesn’t seem to fit her values or her personality.

So if Christian Carino really did that … it sounds like a blunder.

Unless she’s really willing to bend over backwards to make her dad happy, anyway.

Christian Carino: Dating Lady Gaga!

It’s a good time to be Lady Gaga right now.

The singer is coming off a well-reviewed Super Bowl halftime show… is set to embark on wildly-anticipated world tour… and just received massive props for her dismissal of a few online trolls.

But you know?

It’s an even better time to be Christian Carino. Because this dude is actually dating Lady Gaga!

Numerous sources and reliable outlets confirm that the singer and the talent agent have been a romantic item for several weeks now.

During Super Bowl weekend, Carino was spotted smooching Lady Gaga prior to her performance.

Moreover, the new couple attended Tommy Hilfiger and Gigi Hadid’s Spring 2017 fashion show on Wednesday night, further cementing their status as a tandem.

So… who the heck is Christian Carino?

Gaga and Kinney called off their engagement in July of last year.

The actor had popped the question in 2015 on Valentine’s Day via a heart-shaped ring after four years together.

They appear to be on very good terms, although we can’t imagine Kinney is taking this news very well.

He’s extremely handsome, however, so we’re guessing he’ll be alright in the long run.

Neither Gaga nor Carino has commented on their relationship, but that’s probably because it’s fairly new, not because it doesn’t exist.

Asked by Ryan Seacrest on Thursday whether she celebrated her Super Bowl performance with anyone special, Gaga played coy.

“I don’t know! You know I don’t talk about my love life, Ryan!” Gaga replied. “I’m really red. I’m really red, and it doesn’t go with my outfit.”

It’s true: to Gaga’s credit, she has always remained very quiet when it comes to her private life.

So don’t expect to hear much from the artist about Carino.
